How to turn the device on and off?

Use the ON/OFF switch (1) on the device. An orange indicator light turns on when the device is on. To turn off, press the switch again and unplug the mains plug.

What types of massage does the FM 888 offer?

It offers a Shiatsu massage (rotating) and an air pressure massage. Each has settings: Shiatsu continuous or intermittent, air pressure low or high intensity.

How to activate or deactivate the heat function?

Press the button (4) dedicated to the heating function. When heat is activated, the indicator light around the button is off. If deactivated, the indicator is lit white.

What is the maximum recommended continuous use time?

Do not use the device for more than 15 minutes continuously. Let it cool down at least 15 minutes before reuse to avoid overheating.

How to clean the device?

Unplug the device and let it cool down. Clean it with a slightly damp sponge without chemicals. The removable covers (7) can be hand washed. Never immerse the device.

Can I use the device lying down or in bed?

No. Use the device only while sitting on a chair, with feet flat in the covers. Do not use while sleeping or in bed.

about the power supply

• Before connecting the device to your power supply, please ensure that the supply voltage stated on the rating plate is compatible with your mains supply.
• Only insert the mains plug into a socket when the appliance is switched off.
• Keep the cable and the appliance away from heat, hot surfaces, moisture and liquids. Do not touch the mains plug when you are standing in water and always take hold of the plug with dry hands.
• Appliance components carrying voltage may not come into contact with liquid.
• Do not take hold of a device if it falls into water. Pull out the power plug from the socket immediately.
• Connect the unit so that the power plug is freely accessible.
• Always switch off the appliance after use with the ON-/OFF-switch ① and unplug the power plug.

To ensure that your foot massager FM 888 provides successful results for a long time, we recommend that you read carefully through the following notes for the use and care.

2.1 Items supplied and packaging

Please check first of all that the device is complete and is not damaged in any way. In case of doubt, do not use it and contact your dealer or your service centre.

The packaging can be reused or recycled. Please dispose properly of any packaging material no longer required. If you notice any transport damage during unpacking, please contact your dealer without delay.

Please ensure that the polythene packing is kept away from the reach of children! Risk of suffocation!

2.2 What is Shiatsu massage?

Shiatsu is a form of pressure massage and one of the most important massaging techniques along with manual lymphatic drainage and reflexology. This form of physical therapy was developed in Japan but stems from traditional Chinese massage. Gentle stroking and beneficial pressure application techniques are used to awaken life forces and encourage them to flow through the body. The object of the massage is to ease tension and optimise the blood flow for a better well-being.

2.3 What is the foot massager FM 888 used for?

Our feet are under great strain each and every day, making them especially vulnerable to tenseness, muscle pains and hardened muscles. The MEDISANA foot massager FM 888 lets you give your feet a treat, helping them to relax after a long day.

Each massage can be combined with heat treatment. This promotes relaxation, improves the blood circulation and has a soothing effect on the muscles.

CAUTION

Make sure that the maximum operating time of 15 minutes is not exceeded.

3.1 Foot massage

Place the MEDISANA foot massager FM 888 on the floor in front of a comfortable chair and plug the mains plug into the mains outlet.

1. Power on the unit by switching on the ON/OFF switch①①. Sit down in a comfortable position. The indicator light around the ON/OFF switch① lights up in orange. Put your feet into the insert⑦.
2. By switching the device on, the heat, the Shiatsu massage and the air pressure massage are activated automatically at low intensity. The indicator lights around the keys light up in white.
3. The heat may be switched on or off with the key 4 When the heat function is deactivated, the respective indicator light goes out.
4. The operating mode (constant or interval massage) of the Shiatsu massage may be controlled with the key 2 during operation. The indicator light shows the actual mode: white light = constant operation; orange light = interval operation.
5. The intensity of the air pressure massage may be controlled with the key 3 during operation. The indicator light shows the set intensity: white light = low intensity; orange light = high intensity.
6. At the end of the massage, press the the ON/OFF switch to switch off the appliance completely and unplug the appliance from the wall outlet after use.

3.2 Duration of massage treatment

In general, you can allow approximately 10 to 15 minutes operation for each massage session, one to two times a day. Make sure the appliance is cooled down completely before using it again!

4.1 Cleaning and maintenance

• Before cleaning the appliance, make sure that the appliance is switched off and the power supply is disconnected. Allow the unit to cool down.
• Clean the massager with a slightly damp sponge only. Never use brushes, aggressive cleaning agents, petrol, thinners or alcohol. Rub the unit dry with a clean dry cloth.
• Never immerse the appliance in water to clean it and ensure water cannot get into the appliance.
• Wait until the device is completely dry before using it again.
• Undo any kinks in the cable.
  Take care to roll up the mains lead to avoid damaging it.
• You should ideally store the device in its original packaging and keep it in a clean, dry place.

4.2 Disposal

This product should not be disposed of together with domestic waste. Please hand in all electrical or electronic devices at a municipal or commercial collection point so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner. Consult your municipal authority for information about disposal.

Warranty and repair terms

Please contact your dealer or the service centre in case of a claim under the warranty. If you have to return the unit, please enclose a copy of your receipt and state what the defect is.

The following warranty terms apply:

1. The warranty period for MEDISANA products is 3 years from date of purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the date of purchase has to be proven by means of the sales receipt or invoice.
2. Defects in material or workmanship will be removed free of charge within the warranty period.
3. Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period either for the unit or for the replacement parts.
4. The following is excluded under the warranty:

a. All damage which has arisen due to improper treatment, e.g. non-observation of the user instructions.
b. All damage which is due to repairs or tampering by the customer or unauthorised third parties.
c. Damage which has arisen during transport from the manufacturer to the consumer or during transport to the service centre.
d. Accessories which are subject to normal wear and tear.
