- Before the appliance is used, the main body as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, it must no longer be used: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.
● The surfaces of the appliance, the stone and the mini-pans become hot during use. Caution: there is a danger of burns. - Do not leave the appliance unattended while in use.
● This appliance is not intended for use by any person (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
● Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Do not allow the power cord to touch any hot part of the appliance.
● During operation, the appliance must be placed on a heat-resistant surface, impervious to splashes and stains. When cooking food with a high fat or moisture content, splashes are not always avoidable.
- Do not position the grill next to a wall or corner, and ensure that no inflammable materials are stored near it.
- Do not place aluminium foil between stone and heating element nor between heating element and housing.
● The power cord should be regularly examined for any signs of damage. In the event of such damage being found, the appliance must no longer be used.
● The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
● Always switch off and remove the plug from the wall socket after use, as well as - in cases of malfunction, and - while cleaning.

How to use your grill
Before using the appliance for the first time
Slide the pan grips on to the handles until they lock in place.
Before using the grill for the first time, clean the mini-pans with a damp cloth. The stone should be cleaned with a synthetic sponge (but without the use of any detergent) under running water. Wipe thoroughly dry afterwards with a soft cloth.
Before using the appliance for the first time, we recommend you allow it to heat up for 10 minutes without any food. This will lessen the smell typically encountered when first switching on a new grill (a slight smell and a little smoke may still be emitted - ensure sufficient ventilation).
Storage for mini-pans
The mini-pan storage slots are located in the base of the appliance. Al-low the pans to cool down before pushing them into the slots.
Stone
● Fit the stone on to the appliance over the heating element, with the polished side up. Caution: avoid placing a cold stone on to a hot element.
- The stone can be used for cooking vegetables, sliced meat or fish etc. as required.
- This stone is made of natural material. Small cracks resulting from natural expansion and contraction during heating and cooling, as well as a change to a darker colour, are normal and have no detrimental effects.
- Do not place any frozen food or items containing vinegar (such as pickled gherkins or mustard) on the stone.
- Do not let the appliance remain on for more than 30 minutes unless there is food on the stone.
Operation
- Connect the grill to the mains supply and allow the appliance to pre-heat. The pre-heating time for the stone is 25 - 30 minutes, while 10 minutes is sufficient for the raclette grill.
- The stone should be lightly greased with a small amount of oil or fat specifically intended for frying, which may be safely heated to high temperatures.
- If the stone is being used, put the food on top.
- Put the raclette cheese into the mini-pans. Place the mini-pans into the appliance underneath the heating element, and leave them in place until the cheese has melted.
Caution: do not place empty mini-pans into the appliance while it is switched on.
- When grilling is completed, remove the plug from the wall socket.
How to prepare raclette cheese
Use about 200 to 300 grammes per person of a suitable soft cheese. Cut the cheese into 3 to 5 mm slices and put them into the minipans. Cheeses such as original raclette, Tilsit or Appenzell are the most suitable, but any other fast-melting cheese can also be used. Remember that with the overhead heat the cheese will melt quite quickly.
Practical hints
- Frozen food should always be properly thawed before it is cooked.
- To avoid damage to the surface of the stone as well as to the coating of the minipans, do not use any abrasive, sharp or pointed utensils.
- When grilling larger quantities of food, the accumulated fat should be carefully removed from time to time.
General care and cleaning
● Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
● To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water.
- Do not use abrasives, harsh cleaning solutions.
- The exterior of the appliance may be cleaned with a damp, lint-free cloth.
- Before the stone is removed for cleaning, ensure it has completely cooled down. Clean the stone with a synthetic sponge under running water without the use of any detergent. Wipe thoroughly dry afterwards with a soft cloth. Do not immerse the stone in water.
- The mini-pans should be cleaned in warm soapy water and dried thoroughly afterwards.
Disposal

Do not dispose of old or defective appliances in domestic garbage; this should only be done through public collection points.
