Why is the iron not producing steam?
Check that the water tank is filled and that the anti-scale filter is correctly installed. Make sure the temperature selector is set to a high enough position (wool/silk, cotton or max). If the temperature indicator light is on, wait for it to go off before using steam.
Why is the iron not heating up?
Check that the appliance is plugged in to a 230 V outlet and that the main switch is on. Make sure the handle is lowered (it has a safety switch that cuts power when raised). Turn the temperature selector to a position other than 'MIN'.
Why are water drops coming out of the soleplate?
This usually happens when the temperature is too low for the fabric or the soleplate has not reached the correct temperature. Wait for the temperature indicator light to go off, indicating the set temperature is reached. Select the appropriate temperature according to the ironing guide.
Why is the steam station making a vibrating noise?
This noise is normal when the water pump sucks in air. It occurs mainly at the start of ironing or after filling the tank. It disappears after a few seconds of use. If the noise persists, check that the tank is not empty.
Can I use softened or distilled water?
It is not recommended to use softened, distilled, or water containing additives (starch, fabric softener). Preferably use tap water to avoid damaging the soleplate and leaving residues on clothes.
How to clean the ceramic soleplate?
When the soleplate is still warm, use a soft damp cloth to remove residues. Never use abrasive products or chemical descaling agents. For stubborn stains, special cleaning products for ceramic soleplates are available.
How to store the steam station after use?
Turn off the appliance and unplug it. Let it cool completely. Remove the anti-scale filter and empty the water tank. Replace the filter, wipe the main unit and soleplate. Use the folding handle for transport and store in a dry place.
What does the temperature indicator light turning on and off mean?
This is normal. The light indicates that the thermostat is regulating the soleplate temperature. It turns on when the heating element is heating and off when the set temperature is reached, then turns on again to maintain the temperature.
Can I fill the water tank while ironing?
Yes, you can fill the tank at any time without waiting for cooling. Follow the steps: lower the handle, remove the anti-scale filter, fill to the MAX mark, then replace the filter.
What to do if the thermal protection activates and the appliance turns off?
Unplug the appliance and wait 30 minutes for it to cool down. Check that the water tank is full (for steam) and that the filter is correctly installed. Replug and turn on. If the problem persists, contact an authorized MX ONDA service.
