SICHERHEITSHINWEISE

Please read all instrucons before using the device.

This appliance may be used by children aged from eight (8) years and above, and by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge, if they are supervised by persons responsible for their security or if they have been instructed about the safe use of the appliance and therefore fully understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be undertaken by unaended minors.

Children younger than 8 years must be kept away from the device and its power cord.
- Before plugging into a socket, it shall be ensured that the mains voltage matches the voltage specified on the rang plate of the toaster.

To avoid re, electric shock and personal injury, the cord, plug or any part of the toaster shall not be immersed into water or any other uid. It shall always be unplugged when not in use and before cleaning.
- The use of the appliance shall be avoided near sinks or other vessels containing water, and with wet hands.
- The appliance shall not be operated with a damaged cord or plug, or aer the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. It shall be returned to the nearest authorized service facility for examinaon, repair or adjustment.
The power cord shall not hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external mer or separate remote control system.
If the use of an extension cord is required, it

should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter-top or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over accidentally.

The appliance shall not be placed on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.

Due to high temperatures, only handle, knob and buons should be used to reduce the risk of burns.

The appliance shall be allowed to cool before putting on or taking o parts, prior cleaning or storage.

  • Close aeton is required when any appliance is used by or near children.

O Oversized food, metal foil packages or utensils must not be inserted in the toaster, as they may involve a risk of re or electric shock.

  • Bread may burn; therefore, this toaster must not be used near or below curtains or other combustible material and it must be supervised at all mes when in use.

The use of any accessory aachment not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause re, electric shock or personal injury and will void the manufacturer's warranty.

The toaster shall never be operated on its side or covered while in use.

○ It shall not be aempted to extract toast or any other item that has jammed or wedged in the toaster with a knife or any other object, as contact

with live elements may not only damage the elements, but cause electrocuon.

The appliance shall not be used outdoors.

The appliance should be used for its intended purpose only, for household and similar applications such as:

  • sta kitchen areas in shops, oces and other working environments;
    farm houses;
  • by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
  • bed and breakfast type environments.

ABOUT THIS TOASTER

Simple and user-friendly appliance, this toaster is also a great focal point in the kitchen thanks to its modern and aracve design, with chrome nish.
Using the variable browning control, start the day with a perfect toast, just the way you like it. The slots will adjust automatcally to the bread for even toasted slices, whether thick or thin. The special defrost funcon allows to use bread directly out of the freezer, for even more convenience. To keep your toaster clean, the crumb tray is easily removable and the non-skid rubber feet mean your toaster will also sit neat and dy on your worktop.
CAUTION: do not toast sandwiches or buered items, as the lling or spread may burn.
NOTE: for even browning, we recommend to wait approx. 30 seconds between each use, so that the selected toasng level can reset automatically.

BEFORE FIRST USE

Set the toaster on a steady, dry and level surface.
o Remove any packaging material or promoonal labels.
Fully unwind the power cord before use.
When turning on the toaster for the rst time, you may noce a smell or light smoke that tend to be given o when an appliance is new. This does not aect its safety. Ensure the room is well venlated. Operate the toaster without bread in it at least three mes at the highest toasng level and let it cool down.
○ Ensure the crumbs tray is inserted.

Put bread into the toasng slots (1).
Plug the power cord (7) into the outlet.
Turn the browning control knob (5) to the required seng (1 = light, 7 = dark) . The rst me the toaster is used, we recommend that its control is set to number 4 (golden) and then adjusted in the following me to suit your personal taste.
Press the push-down/start lever (3) down un it engages and the appliance will begin toasng at once.

Note: If the toaster starts to smoke, end the toasng process prematurely while pressing the STOP buon (c). Never li the push-down/start lever (3) to interrupt toasng.
The toaster turns o when the desired toast browning is achieved and automatally raises the toast out of the toasng slots. You can also upli the lever (3) a lile to remove the bread readily.
To toast frozen bread,place the bread into the bread slots (1),select the desired browning seng and press the push down/start lever (3) down and lock into posi on,then press the DEFROST buon (a).The toasng me will be altered automat iically to give the same degree of browning you get with unfrozen bread.
To reheat, place plain toasts into the bread slots, press the push down/start lever (3) down to lock into posion, then press the REHEAT buon (b) to warm up the slices.

HINTS AND TIPS

If a single slice of bread is inserted in the toaster, the usual browning seng needs to be reduced to avoid the toast burning.
Dierent types of bread require a dierent seng: old or thin bread browns faster than ordinary bread (just like sweet bread products, e.g. fruit loaf, cake), and should be toasted on a lighter seng.
If toasng large quanes, the browning will gradually get darker (See NOTE in sub-secon "About this toaster").

- CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Before cleaning, unplug the toaster and let it cool down completely.
- Wipe the outside with so damp cloth; Do not use strong or abrasive cleaning agents that may scratch or damage the chrome coang of the appliance.
○ Remove the crumb tray (8) by grasping its handle (9) and wipe it clean. If the toaster is used frequently, the accumulated bread crumbs should be removed at least once a week. Replace the crumb tray before using the toaster again.
Don't let anything enter the slots, as it might damage the elements.
When not in use or for storage, twist the power cord under the boom of toaster.

For proper disposal, please return device to a retailer, a service agent or Rotel AG.
