3. Proper use

The multi-saw is designed for sawing wood, iron, non-ferrous metals and plastic. It should only be used with the appropriate saw blade.

The equipment is to be used only for its prescribed purpose. Any other use is deemed to be a case of misuse. The user / operator and not the manufacturer will be liable for any damage or injuries of any kind caused as a result of this.

Please note that our equipment has not been designed for use in commercial, trade or industrial applications. Our warranty will be voided if the machine is used in commercial, trade or industrial businesses or for equivalent purposes.

5. Before starting the equipment

Before you connect the equipment to the mains supply make sure that the data on the rating plate are identical to the mains data.

Warning!

Always pull the power plug before making adjustments to the equipment.

5.1 Changing the saw blade (Fig. 2)

Always switch off and unplug the multi-saw before working on the machine or changing the saw blade.

Press the lever for changing the saw blade (6) as shown in Figure 2 until the saw blade (4) lets itself be slipped into the slot of the blade holder (a).

Then release the lever for changing the saw blade (6). The lever will return to its starting position and lock the saw blade in place (4). Pull on the blade (4) to check whether it sits tightly in the holder (a).

To remove the saw blade (4), proceed in reverse order.

5.2 Adjusting the soleplate (Fig. 3)

Warning!

Pull out the power plug.

To adjust the soleplate (5), loosen the locking lever for the soleplate (8) until the soleplate (5) can be moved. Set the required distance and refasten the lever (8).

Check that the soleplate is secure.

6. Operation

6.1 ON/OFF switch (Fig. 1/Item 1)

To switch on:

6.2 Locking button (Fig. 1/Item 2)

You can lock the ON/OFF switch (1) using the locking button (2) when the equipment is in operation. To switch off the equipment briefly hold down the ON/OFF switch (1).

6.3 Function switch (Fig. 4-6/Item 7) Important. Activate the function switch (7) only when the equipment is at a standstill.

You can move the soleplate (5) to 4 different settings to work better in hard-to-reach areas.

To move the soleplate (5), set the function switch (7) to position A (see Figure 4).

To lock the soleplate (5) in place, set the function switch (7) to position B (see Figure 5). The sole-plate (5) can be locked in only four positions (at 90°, 180°, 270° and 360°). Now check that the soleplate (5) is secure by turning it.

The pendulum action is activated in position C (see Figure 6). The saw balde will then move forwards and backwards in addition to its up and down movements. This will improve the sawing performance through better chip discharge. In this position the soleplate (5) is always locked.

Important. To switch the function switch (7) to position C, the soleplate (5) must be set to 180° or 360°.

6.4 Use as a jigsaw (Fig. 7)

Place the multi-saw on the material to be cut as shown in Fig. 7. Switch on the multi-saw and push it along against the material to be cut. Adapt your cutting speed to the material.

7. Replacing the power cable

Danger!

If the power cable for this equipment is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its after-sales service or similarly trained personnel to avoid danger.

8. Cleaning, maintenance and ordering of spare parts

Danger!

Always pull out the mains power plug before starting any cleaning work.

8.1 Cleaning

  • Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as possible. Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it with compressed air at low pressure.
    • We recommend that you clean the device immediately each time you have finished using it.
  • Clean the equipment regularly with a moist cloth and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents; these could attack the plastic parts of the equipment. Ensure that no water can seep into the device. The ingress of water into an electric tool increases the risk of an electric shock.

8.2 Carbon brushes

In case of excessive sparking, have the carbon brushes checked only by a qualified electrician.

Danger! The carbon brushes should not be replaced by anyone but a qualified electrician.

8.3 Maintenance

There are no parts inside the equipment which require additional maintenance.

9. Disposal and recycling

The equipment is supplied in packaging to prevent it from being damaged in transit. The raw materials in this packaging can be reused or recycled. The equipment and its accessories are made of various types of material, such as metal and plastic. Never place defective equipment in your household refuse. The equipment should be taken to a suitable collection center for proper disposal. If you do not know the whereabouts of such a collection point, you should ask in your local council offices.

10. Storage

Store the equipment and accessories in a dark and dry place at above freezing temperature. The ideal storage temperature is between 5 and 30°C. Store the electric tool in its original packaging.
