Frequently Asked Questions - KM6100 AEG

How to install the bowl on the AEG KM6100 stand mixer?
Slightly tilt the stainless steel bowl and place it on the pegs of the support arms. Press firmly on the back of the bowl until it locks into position. Make sure the motor arm is raised before placing the bowl.
How to attach an accessory (whisk, beater, hook)?
Position the accessory on the fixing shaft respecting the direction of insertion. Push and turn a quarter turn to the right to lock it. To remove, push and turn to the left.
Which speeds to use for whipping cream?
To whip cream or egg whites, use speeds 8 to 10. Always start at a low speed (1/P) to avoid splashes, then increase gradually.
How to use the pulse function?
Set the speed selector to 1/P. Press the PULSE button for a momentary operation of 1.5 seconds or hold it down for continuous operation. You can also use the dedicated button on the LCD screen.
How to set the timer?
Press the timer button. The LCD screen flashes. Use the MIN and SEC buttons to set the desired duration. Turn the speed selector to the chosen speed, then press the start button. The appliance will stop automatically at the end of the set time.
What to do if the accessory scrapes the bottom of the bowl?
Unplug the appliance and lower the motor arms. Use a flat-head screwdriver to adjust the screw on the fixing shaft: turn counterclockwise to raise the shaft or clockwise to lower it. The accessory should just touch the bottom without rubbing.
How to clean the KM6100 stand mixer?
Unplug the appliance. The bowl, flat beater and dough hook are dishwasher safe. The whisk, mincer and slicer should be hand washed in warm soapy water. The housing can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth. Do not use abrasive products.
What to do if the motor slows down during use?
This may indicate excessive load. Reduce the quantity of ingredients (remove half and process in two batches) or add a little flour if the dough is too liquid and sticks to the walls. Also check that the speed is not too high.
The speed selector LED is flashing, what to do?
This means the speed selector was left in a position when the appliance was plugged in. Turn the selector to OFF, the flashing stops. Then you can select the desired speed normally.
Can I use the stand mixer to knead bread dough?
Yes, use the dough hook. For quantities up to 960 g of flour, place all ingredients in the bowl and knead at speed 1-2 for at least 2 minutes. For harder doughs, proceed in stages, gradually increasing the speed.
