SAFETY REGULATIONS

1 Before using the device, please carefully read this user manual.
2 Keep the device outside the reach of children. Careful supervision is required if the device is used near children. Never allow children to use the device.
3 Only use the device for its intended purpose as described in this user manual.
4 Do not immerse the device in water or in any other liquid.
5 Use only the power cable that has been supplied with the device.

6 Never use this device when the power cable or the plug are damaged.
7 Check whether the device is intact at regular intervals. Do not use the device when the power cable or the device show any damages.
8 Place the device on a solid surface. Preferably do not use a soft surface like, for example, an artificial fibre table cloth. Nor should the device be placed on a vulnerable surface, such as a glass table, a table cloth, painted furniture, etc.
9 See that the power cable never hangs over the edge of a table. You must always place the power cable in such a manner that no-one can trip over it.
10 Do not pull the plug from the wall socket by its power cord. To pull the plug from the wall socket, take the plug and carefully pull it from the wall socket.
11 To avoid electric shocks ensure that the device and the power cable are dry.
12 Do not use the device outdoors.
13 Do not leave the device unattended when the plug is in the wall socket. Take the plug from the wall socket when you are not using the device or for carrying out maintenance.
14 Do not use any accessories that are not recommended by the supplier, especially not accessories that have not been supplied with the device.
15 Check whether the mains voltage corresponds with the type plate of the device, before using it.
16 The temperature of the water, with which you clean the device, must never exceed 60^!
17 Never immerse the motor housing into water or into any other liquids. Never use the device with wet hands.
18 When the device is switched on and the motor is running, you may NEVER put your hands or any other objects in the machine!
19 Never use the device for a long period on end, as this may lead to damages to the device.
20 Use this device exclusively for the preparation of fruit and vegetable juices.
21 Never bend the mains lead sharply, nor let it lie over hot parts.
22 Never place the device near equipment that produces heat, such as ovens, gas cookers, cooking rings, etc. Keep the device away from walls or other objects that can catch fire, such as curtains, towels (cotton or paper, etc.)
23 If you wish to move the device, you must see that it is switched off. You must use both hands when moving the device.
24 Use only the enclosed press-on tool for pressing on pieces of fruit or vegetables that are stuck in the opening.

BEFORE USE

Before the first use:

• Remove all the packaging from the inside and outside of the device.
  C arefully read the user manual and observe the safety regulations.
  Clean the device and the accessories, please refer to the section maintenance and cleaning.
• Place the device on a clean, flat and hard surface.

Disassembling and assembling the device

Always take the plug from the wall socket before disassembling the device. Take the press-on tool from the device.

• Take the juice cup away from under the juice spout.

• Disengage the clamps and take the transparent lid off the device.

• Remove the pulp container by taking it away from the motor housing.

• Take the grate out of the juice ring.

T urn the juice ring anti-clockwise, so that it comes loose from the motor housing.

In order to reassemble the device, you just carry out the above-mentioned actions in reverse order. Take care that the lid closes properly.

Preparing fruit or vegetables

Important: use only well-ripened fruit to avoid blockages so that cleaning is needed less often. Wash or peel the fruit and the vegetables that you want to process. Always remove the stones from fruits with large ones. For example from cherries, peaches and apricots the stones must always be removed. Fruits with seeds, such as apples and pears can be processed with their peels and cores. From fruits with a thick peel, such as citrus fruits, pineapples, melons, kiwis

and beetroots, the peel must first be removed. With grapes you remove only the thick stalks. With green vegetables (spinach) and spices you must firmly roll the leaves together before feeding them into the filling shaft.

Acquiring juice

Put the vegetables and/or fruit from which you want to make juice into the filling opening. Put the plug into the wall socket and switch the device on with the on/off switch. Use the press-on tool to press the ingredients down. Add the remaining fruit or vegetables while the motor is running.

• You can continue acquiring juice until the pulp container is beginning to fill up. You must empty the pulp container when it is visibly full.

• F ruit and vegetable juices contain valuable vitamins and minerals. When the juice comes into contact with oxygen or light, the quality and quantity of vitamins and minerals quickly decrease. Therefore it is recommended to drink the fruit or vegetable juice when fresh, so just after it has been pressed.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

See to it that the device is off and take the plug from the wall socket. Disassemble the device, see header: disassembling and assembling the device. Clean the pulp reservoir, the grate, the lid and the press-on tool with hot water (not over 60^ ) and a mild detergent. The parts can also be washed in a dishwasher, the temperature of the water must never exceed 60^ ! The motor housing can be cleaned with a moist cloth or sponge. Never immerse the motor housing in water or in any other liquid!

Do not use any brushes, scourers or other aggressive cleaning devices. See to it that all the parts are thoroughly dry before you use the device again. Let the device cool down properly before cleaning it.

Never immerse the motor housing in water or in any other liquid and do not clean it with a jet of water or in running water.

TIPS

• Add soft products slowly to get the most juice from them.
• Vitamins disappear, so the faster you drink your juice, the more vitamins you get.
• Must you yet keep the juice for a while, then put it in the refrigerator. It is even better to add some drops of lemon juice.
• Do not drink more than 3 glasses of 230 ml of juice a day.
• Dilute the juice for children with an equal quantity of water.
• Juice of dark green (broccoli, spinach etc.) or dark red (beets, red cabbage, etc.) vegetables is quite strong, therefore always dilute it.
  Fruit juice has a high content of fructose. Persons with diabetes or a low content of blood sugar must avoid drinking much of it.

RECIPIES

Cocktail of carrots

Preparation: 10 minutes

For: 2 glasses of 375ml

10-12 carrots

125 ml pineapple juice

125 ml orange juice

1-2 teaspoonfuls of honey, to taste

8 ice cubes

Squeeze out carrots by means of the device. Use a jug to stir the other ingredients through the carrot juice and serve it.

Fresh pineapple juice with mandarin sorbet

Preparation: 10 minutes

For: 2 glasses of 375ml

pineapple (2.5kg)

250 ml ginger ale

4 balls of mandarin sorbet (to taste)

Peel the pineapple and place it in the device.

Mix the pineapple juice and the ginger ale together. Place it in the refrigerator.

Pour the juice in chilled glasses and place 2 balls of mandarin sorbet on each glass to taste.

Vitamin boost

Preparation: 15 minutes

For: 4 glasses of 200 ml

1 large apple

6 carrots

4 celery stems

6 leaves of iceberg lettuce

20 spinach leaves

Place apple in the device with peel and core, together with the carrots, the celery, the iceberg lettuce and the spinach and process all this.

Pour the juice into glasses and serve with ice cubes to taste.

Summer refreshment

Preparation: 15 minutes

For: 2 glasses of 375ml

3 Oranges

250 g fresh strawberries

300 g seedless grapes

2 peaches

Peel the oranges and squeeze them out whole by means of the device.

Also squeeze out the strawberries and grapes by means of the device, so that they can be added to the orange juice.

Pour boiling water over the peaches and leave them to stand for 30 seconds and then cool them down in cold water. Pull off the skins, remove the stones and squeeze the pulp by means of the device. Pour the juice into glasses. Serve with spoons with long handles.

Honey-melon-passion fruit mixture

Preparation: 10 minutes

For: 2 glasses of 375ml

1 middle-sized honey-melon (approx. 750g)

6 Passion fruits

Ice cubes for serving

Peel the melon. Cut it into pieces and squeeze it out using the device. Halve the passion fruits, spoon out the pulp. Mix the melon juice with pulp of passion fruit. Cool down well. Serve in a glass with ice cubes.
