from the appliance or they must be under con- stant supervision.

3. Children between the ages of 3 and 8 should

only switch the appliance on and off when it is in its normal intended operating position, they are supervised or have been instructed relative to safe use of the appliance and have under- stood the hazards that can result from using the product. If the power cord of this appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or by the manufacturer’s customer service organisation, or by a person with similar qualifications, to prevent hazards. Caution! The appliance is very hot during and after operation! Never open the housing of the appliance. This can result in electric shock. For safety reasons never use the appliance in the vicinity of a bath tub or sink filled with water, or in the vicinity of other vessels filled with water. If the appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug the plug after use, since nearby water poses a hazard even when the appliance is switched off. The manufacturer will not be liable in the event of incorrect assembly, improper or incorrect use or if repairs are carried out by unauthorized third parties.

BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE

1. Remove all packaging materials and transport

safeguards. Due to danger of suffocation, keep children away from the packaging materials.

2. At first use, minor smoke development may

1. Only use the appliance on hair that is com-

pletely dry; use of the appliance on wet hair can damage hair.

2. Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet.

3. Switch on the appliance via the ON/OFF switch

by keeping the switch depressed for at least two seconds.

4. Select the desired temperature level by press-

ing the „+“ and „-“ buttons until the desired temperature is reached. It is possible to set the temperature in six increments between 130°C and 200°C, each selected temperature level is displayed through illuminated segments.

5. The following temperatures can be set (the

factory setting is level 4): Level 1 approx 130°C for first use or for extremely soft hair Level 2 approx. 145°C, for hair that has been treated with chemicals Level 3 approx. 160°C, for a normal hair structure or slightly wavy hair Level 4 approx. 175°C, for a normal hair structure or slightly wavy hair Level 5/6 approx. 190-200°C, for thick curly hair Please note that the results can vary greatly due to the different hair structures of each person. To prevent damage to your hair, select a temperature that is suitable for your hair, ensure that you do not style coloured or damage hair at excessively hot temperatures. To avoid damaging your hair, please do not use any chemical hair styling products, such as hair spray before straightening your hair. Naturally you can use suitable heat- protection products. 6. You should always start with a lower temper-

ature and only select a higher temperature if it needed.

7. When the appliance has reached the desired

temperature, the last segment of the display light up. As soon as the display is continu- ously illuminated you can start to style your hair.

8. Tip: Place a towel over your shoulders to pro-

tect your skin against possible heat exposure.

9. Divide the combed hair into small strands that

should not be wider than five centimetres. If necessary separate the hair strands with a bobby pin.

10. Firmly hold one strand of hair and move the

brush from top to bottom over the entire length of the strand. For an optimal result, we recommend moving the brush in such a manner that the bristles are pointing away from you.

11. Tip: You can style with a slight curl for more

volume by briefly turning the appliance to the inside or outside just before the ends of the hair (depending on the type of curl desired). Thus you produce a slight curl in your hair. The bristles of the hair straightening brush get very hot, thus ensure that the bristles never reach the scalp, or the skin of the face or hands – danger of burn injury!

12. Repeat this procedure with all hair strands,

until the desired result is achieved.

13. To switch off the appliance, keep the ON/

OFF switch depressed for at least two sec- onds and unplug the mains plug from the electrical outlet.

14. Safety function: After 30 minutes the appli-

ance automatically switches off for safety reasons. If you want to continue with the hair styling, after a brief cool-down time, switch the appliance on again via the ON/ OFF switch. Within the warranty period we will remedy defective materials or workmanship through repair or replacement, at our option. Our warranty terms apply only to appliances sold in Germany and Austria. For other countries, please contact the respon- sible importer. In the event of a claim for remedy of defects, please send the appliance to our after sales service, properly packaged and postage paid, together with a copy of the automatically generated sales receipt, which must show the date of purchase, and a description of the defect. If the defect is covered by the warranty, the customer will be reimbursed for the ship- ping costs. The warranty does not cover damage from normal wear, improper handling and failure to comply with the maintenance and care instructions. The warranty is void if repairs or modifications are made to the appliance by third parties. Any claims of the end consumer vis-à-vis the retailer are not limited by this warranty.
