SAFETY INFORMATION

1. Please read the following information and keep it for future reference.
2. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
3. Children should be supervised in order to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
4. Connect the appliance only to an AC power supply with the voltage indicated on the rating plate.
5. Do not operate this appliance with an external timer or remote control system.
6. The appliance may never be immersed in water or other liquids. Keep the appliance dry.
7. Make sure that the lead cable does not touch hot parts of the appliance.
8. Unroll the lead cable completely to avoid damage caused by overheating.
9. Always disconnect the lead cable from the wall socket pulling on the plug, never on the cable.

10. When storing the appliance, never wrap the lead cable around it in order to avoid damaging the cable.

11. The appliance is intended for domestic use only, not for commercial use.

12. The appliance is not intended for outdoor use.
13. During operation keep sufficient distance to the walls and flammable objects like e.g. curtains.
14. Do not operate the appliance near any heat source.
15. For safety reasons do not use the appliance to style artificial hair.
16. Keep the appliance away from ears and face to avoid burns.
17. Do not use any hair spray while the appliance is still working.
18. To avoid damage to your hair, your hair should be free of hair-styling products such as foam or gel before using the appliance.
19. The attachments are very hot after use. Handle with care to avoid burns.
20. Disconnect the appliance before depositing.
21. After use and before cleaning always switch the appliance off, disconnect the plug from the wall socket and let it cool off.
22. As long as the appliance is connected to the main power supply, it constitutes a potential danger near water.

23. Do not stick any objects into the appliance, as possible damage may cause electric shock.

24. Use the appliance only for the intended purposes indicated in this manual.

25. Do not use the appliance with accessories of other manufacturers or brands, to prevent damage.
26. Never open the casing of the appliance to prevent electric shock.
27. Check the plug and lead cable regularly for wear and tear. If the lead cable or other parts show damage, please send the appliance to our after-sales service for inspection and repair (for address, see warranty terms). Unauthorised repairs can constitute serious risks for the user and void the warranty.
28. If the lead cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its after-

sales service or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid any hazard.

For safety reasons never use the appliance close to or in a bathtub or wash-basin or any other container filled with water. If the appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug it from the wall

socket after use, since nearby water presents a danger even when the appliance is switched off.

The manufacturer will not be liable in the event of incorrect assembly, improper or incorrect use or if repairs are carried out by unauthorized third parties.

BEFORE FIRST USE

1. Remove all packaging materials and any transport safety devices. Keep packaging material out of reach of children. Danger of suffocation!

2. After washing your hair, dry it thoroughly with a towel.

3. Best results are achieved with dry hair. Dry your hair well using a hair dryer, if necessary.

4. Brush your hair until it falls loosely.

OPERATION

The plates of the hair straightener are ceramic-coated to protect your hair and leave it shiny after straightening. Nevertheless you should not straighten your hair too often. Select the adequate temperature for your hair type, as too high temperatures may burn your hair. This applies especially to colour treated or otherwise chemically treated hair (e.g. perms). In this case, select a lower temperature adjustment.

Before straightening your hair please do not use any chemical hair-styling products like hair spray to avoid burning your hair.

Attention: The appliance becomes very hot during operation. Avoid direct skin contact. Danger of burns!

1. Prepare your hair as described in the chapter „Before first use“.

2. Attention: your hair should be completely dry before straightening. Straightening your hair when it is still damp will damage your hair. Therefore you should dry your hair well using a hair dryer, if necessary.

3. Separate the combed hair into strands no more than 5 cm wide. If necessary, separate the strands using hair clips.

4. Connect the plug to a wall socket (220 - 240 V\~, 50 Hz).

5. Switch the appliance on pushing the button EIN/AUS [ON/OFF].

6. The display lights up and the initial temperature of 150 °C is indicated.

7. Adjust the desired temperature using the buttons „+“ and „-“. The temperature can be adjusted to 150 - 230 °C in steps of 20°. The thicker your hair, the higher the selected temperature may be. Chemically treated hair should be straightened at a lower temperature adjustment. Try and see which adjustment gives you the best results. The selected temperature will be indicated correspondingly in the display.

8. Heat the appliance up for 2 minutes in order to achieve the best styling result.

9. Open the appliance and place a small section of hair between the straightening plates close to the root.

10. Shut the appliance.

11. Now work your way down slowly and evenly to the ends of your hair. Maintain the appliance firmly closed during this process. Never work the same part for more than two seconds to avoid damaging your hair. For an even and straight look, work your way straight down keeping the appliance close to your head. Working your way through slightly lifting the appliance will give your hair more volume.

12. Please remember that the straightener plates are very hot after use.

13. Switch the appliance off pushing the button EIN/AUS [ON/OFF].

14. TIP: You can also curl your hair with the straightener! Place the strand between the plates as usual and straighten your hair. Shortly before the ends of your hair, turn the appliance to the inside or the outside (according to the desired look) to give your hair a gentle movement to inside or the outside.

CLEANING AND CARE

1. Unplug the appliance from the wall socket.

2. Let the appliance cool off completely placing it on a heat resistant surface.

3. Never immerse the appliance or the lead cable in water or other liquids to clean them.

4. Clean the appliance with a damp cloth.

5. Do not use any scrubbing sponges, abrasive agents, steel wool, metal objects, disinfectants or hot cleaning agents, since they can damage the appliance.

6. Protect the appliance from dust and clean the air inlets with a soft brush, if necessary.

7. Clean the straightener plates with a damp cloth, if necessary. Let the appliance dry completely before using it again or storing it. Persistent dirt can be easily removed with a soft brush.

STORAGE

1. Unplug the appliance from the wall socket.
2. Let the appliance cool off completely placing it on a heat resistant surface.

3. To avoid damage to the lead cable, never wrap it around the appliance.

4. The included velcro fastener serves to store the appliance in reduced spaces. Keep the appliance shut and wrap the velcro fastener around it.

The warranty does not cover damage from normal wear, improper handling and failure to comply with the maintenance and care instructions. The warranty is void if repairs or modifications are made to the appliance by third parties. Any claims of the end consumer vis-à-vis the retailer are not limited by this warranty.
