How to install the FUWM50000 water detector?

Mount the wireless transmitter high up on a flat surface, with the contacts facing downward. Fix the base to the wall, then connect the sensor cable to the terminal block. Place the sensor in a location that will be flooded quickly in the event of a leak. Open the housing, insert the battery respecting polarity, and close it.

What battery does the transmitter use?

The transmitter uses a 3 V lithium battery, model CR2. It is supplied with the product and is not rechargeable.

How long does the battery last?

The maximum service life of the battery is 3 years, depending on usage conditions. To extend the life, you can disable supervision via the Super Disable strap.

How do I configure the straps (jumpers)?

The straps are located on the transmitter circuit board. The options are: Disable Tamp (disables the tamper contact), LED (turns on the LED upon detection), Alarm on Dry (reverses logic: alarm when the sensor is dry), Super Disable (disables supervision messages).
To modify, insert or remove the jumper according to the desired configuration.

What does the 'Alarm on Dry' strap mean?

Normally, the detector triggers an alarm when the sensor is in contact with water. With the Alarm on Dry strap engaged, the detector reacts when the sensor is dry, which can be useful for detecting evaporation or an intermittent leak.

How do I perform the enrollment with the Secvest control panel?

Put your Secvest alarm control panel into enrollment mode. Trigger the tamper contact of the detector (open the housing) to signal a tamper. The control panel will confirm with a double tone. Then assign the zone type Technical to the detector. Close the housing once enrollment is complete.

What is the radio range of the detector?

The radio range depends on the environment. The transmission power is 10 mW at 868.6625 MHz. For optimal range, mount the transmitter high up and avoid metal obstacles. Use the radio test box to find the best position.

What to do if the detector does not work?

First check the battery: insert it correctly respecting polarity. Make sure the straps are properly configured. Check that the sensor is correctly connected to the terminal block. If the problem persists, consult the user manual or contact ABUS customer service.

Can I use the wireless detector with other alarm systems?

The FUWM50000 is specifically designed to work with the ABUS Secvest wireless alarm system. It uses a proprietary protocol. Its use with other systems is not guaranteed and may not be compatible.

Battery warning!

The device is supplied with direct current from a 3 V lithium battery. To guarantee a long working life and avoid fire and injury, please note the following:

Introduction

The FUWM50000 water detector reacts to liquids and water and reports these events to the Secvest alarm centre. It consists of a transmitter and a sensor, which are connected to one another by a cable. The water detector functions can also be

inverted. The detector then transmits when the sensor is dry.

Selecting the installation location

Install the water detector in a location that will be flooded very quickly in the event of water penetration. This ensures that an alarm will be triggered as soon as possible. Install the wireless detector in a position with the best available transmission properties. In the best case, an optimal position can be tested using a wireless testing box. Install the detector as high as possible. This protects the transmitter from damage in the event of flooding. Ensure that the transmitter is installed on a level

surface, with the contacts for the water sensor facing downwards.

Installation

Open the housing of the wireless transmitter. Loosen the fastening screw on the PCB, then lift the PCB carefully out of the housing. Install the wireless transmitter at the selected location. Screw the rear part of the detector housing to the wall. Fasten the PCB back into the housing, then insert the lithium battery provided with the correct polarity. Connect the cable of the water sensor to the screw terminal of the transmitter.

Fastening the water sensor: Choose a location that will be flooded very quickly in the event of water penetration.

Change the wireless transmitter settings as required using the jumpers.

Setting possibilities

Jumper: Disable Tamp

The tamper contact on the detector is inactive when this jumper is attached. You can then open the detector housing without triggering a tamper alarm.

Jumper: Disable View State

The LED lights up as soon as the sensor detects water when this jumper is attached.

Jumper: Alarm on Dry

When this jumper is attached, the detector reacts when it is no longer in contact with water (i.e it reacts to dry surroundings instead of contact with water).

Jumper: Super Disable

No supervision messages are sent to the alarm centre when this jumper is attached. This results in a longer battery service life. Ensure that supervision is deactivated on the alarm centre before setting this jumper.

Learning

1. Set the Secvest wireless alarm system to learning mode. Consult the instructions of the alarm centre for more details.

2. Activate the tamper contact of the water detector to send a tamper message to the wireless alarm system. The alarm centre acknowledges the detector with a double tone. After learning, the detector must be assigned the "Technical alarm" zone type.

3. Make sure that the detector is recognised by your wireless alarm centre, then close the detector.
