Frequently Asked Questions - DB 130 AEG

How to plug the DB 130 into the car?
Plug the male cigarette lighter plug of the cable directly into the 12V cigarette lighter socket of your vehicle. The red LED lights up to indicate that the device is powered. Make sure the cable does not interfere with driving.
What is the maximum power the DB 130 can deliver?
The maximum power is 130 W with a maximum current of 5 A (total on both sockets and the USB port). Never exceed this limit to avoid any risk of overheating or short circuit.
Can I charge my smartphone with the USB port?
Yes, the USB port delivers 5 V / 1 A, which is suitable for charging most smartphones. It does not allow data transfer.
Does the DB 130 work without the car ignition being on?
In most vehicles, the cigarette lighter socket is only powered when the ignition is on. Check the vehicle manual to verify. If the socket is permanently powered, use the device with caution to avoid draining the battery.
What to do if the red LED does not light up after connection?
First check that the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket is powered (ignition on if necessary). If the LED remains off, the device may be defective. Do not use it and contact customer service.
Can I use high-power devices such as a refrigerator or heater?
No, the DB 130 is limited to 130 W (5 A). High-power devices (heater, refrigerator) generally exceed this limit. Use the DH 200 model (with direct battery connection) for such devices.
How to clean the DB 130?
Use a soft dry cloth to clean the housing. Never use aggressive products or solvents, and never immerse the device in water or any other liquid.
Is the DB 130 equipped with a protection fuse?
No, the DB 130 model is not equipped with a fuse. Overload protection is provided by the vehicle's fuse (usually in the fuse box). In case of a short circuit, the vehicle's fuse may blow. The DH 200 model has an integrated 15 A blade fuse.
What to do in case of malfunction?
If the device is damaged (cable, housing, etc.) or does not work properly, stop using it immediately. Contact your point of sale or a qualified electrician. For a warranty claim, provide the receipt and describe the defect.
Can I use the DB 130 in a 24 V vehicle?
No, the DB 130 is designed exclusively for 12 V voltage. Using it on a 24 V system would damage the device and pose a fire risk. Check your vehicle voltage before connecting.

OPERATION

AEG DB 130 - OPERATION - 1

Model DB 130

As soon as the vehicle plug [10] is connected with the 12 V vehicle socket and is conducting an electrical charge, the red LED will illuminate. Now the double plug socket is ready for use and devices can be connected to both 12 V vehicle sockets, as well as to the USB connection socket.

Note that with some vehicles, the 12 V vehicle socket may only function when the ignition is switched on.

Use the double plug socket for a short time only if the vehicle engine is not switched on. Failure to observe this can cause the vehicle battery to run down.

After use, always remove the plug from the 12 V vehicle socket. When removing the connection, pull on the plug itself, and never on the connecting cable.

Model DH 200

To switch the unit on, switch the ON/OFF switch [4] on the double plug socket to ON. Now the double plug socket is ready for use.

Make sure that the total power consumption connected to the double plug socket does not exceed 15 A.

Voltage Indicator LED functions [3]:

Red Current < 10.5 V
Yellow Current between 10.5 V-12.5 V
Green Current > 12.5 V

Battery monitor function: As soon as the double plug socket is switched on, an LED illuminates which corresponds to the battery voltage. If the battery voltage sinks below 10.5V , the LED will light up red. If this happens, the double plug socket will automatically switch off in order to prevent the vehicle battery from running down. This will resume if the battery return to 11.8V or above.
