Before using the Car&Dog vacuum cleaner accessory set it is essential to read and observe the Warning and Safety instructions in the Operating instructions for your vacuum cleaner.

Safety notes for the hand-held mini turbobrush

This mini turbobrush conforms to current safety requirements. Improper use can, however, lead to personal injury and damage to property.

To avoid the risk of accidents and damage to this turbobrush, please read these instructions carefully before using it for the first time. They contain important information on its safety, use and maintenance. Keep these instructions in a safe place and ensure new users are familiar with the content. Pass them on to any future owner.

Correct application

This mini turbobrush must only be used for vacuuming dry surfaces. Do not use on people or animals. Any other use, modification or alteration to the brush, is not permitted. Miele cannot be held liable for damage resulting from incorrect or improper use or operation.

Safety with children

• Keep young children away from the mini turbobrush at all times and do not let them play with it whilst you are using it. They could catch hold of the rotating roller and injure themselves. Please supervise its use by older children and the elderly or infirm.

Technical safety

Always disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the mains supply when you have finished using it, as well as for maintenance work and cleaning. Switch off at the wall socket and unplug it.
Do not let the mini turbobrush get wet. If it needs cleaning only do so with a dry cloth or slightly damp cloth. If moisture gets into the appliance, there is a risk of electric shock.

Correct use

Never touch the roller of the mini turbobrush while it is rotating. Danger of injury.
Do not use the turbobrush at head height. Long hair, ties, scarves etc. could be sucked in and become entangled in the roller.
- Keep the turbobrush away from curtains, clothing etc, as these could be vacuumed in and become entangled in the roller.
Always switch the vacuum cleaner off immediately during pauses to avoid danger.

Do not vacuum up any inflammable or combustible liquids or gases and do not vacuum in areas where such substances are stored.
Do not vacuum surfaces where there is a danger of it being sucked up or becoming entangled in the roller.
Do not vacuum up any water, liquid or damp dirt. This will cause major faults. It could also seriously impair the functioning and electrical safety of the vacuum cleaner. Danger of electric shock. Wait until any freshly cleaned or shampooed carpets or floor coverings are completely dry before vacuuming.
Do not vacuum up items which are heavy, hard or have sharp edges. They could block the mini turbobrush and the vacuum cleaner and cause damage.
Do not vacuum up ashes or coal, whether glowing or apparently extinguished. The turbobrush and the cleaner might catch fire.

Disposing of an old mini turbobrush

Dispose of it safely.

The manufacturer cannot be held liable for damage caused by non-compliance with these Warning and Safety instructions.

The Cat&Dog vacuum cleaner accessory set is designed to help vacuum households with animals quickly and thoroughly. The accessories can be used with the following Miele vacuum cleaners:

• S 5000-S 5799
• S 6000-S 6799

Using the accessories

(see illustrations on pages 2 and 3)

① Flexible crevice nozzle For accessing awkward to reach areas.
2 Active Air Clean filter This filter absorbs odours from the dirt collected in the dustbag.
③ Hand-held mini turbobrush For cleaning upholstery, car seats, stair carpets etc. The rotating roller brush is ideal for removing hair and fluff.

It is important to observe the manufacturer's cleaning and care instructions for the surface being vacuumed.

Hygiene cap Prevents dust and odours escaping when the suction hose has been removed from the vacuum cleaner.

Maintenance and care of the hand-held mini turbobrush

Always disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the electrical supply for maintenance and cleaning of the mini turbobrush. Switch off at the wall socket and remove the plug.

Removing threads and hairs

• Cut any threads or hairs that have become entangled in the roller brush with a pair of scissors. Then run the vacuum cleaner to vacuum up the bits.
  For more obstinate tangles or blockages inside the hand-held turbobrush, the cover can be opened. Any large particles inside it can then be easily removed.
• Turn the grip so that the release button is in the middle of the guide (illustration A).
  Press the release button (illustration B) and pull the grip out from the hand-held turbobrush as far as possible (illustration C).
• Lift the upper part of the casing as far as it will go and remove any debris from the inside of the casing and from the roller brush.
• Close the casing, and push the grip back into position until it clicks into place over the release button.

Damage can occur with improper use of these accessories, or if the accessories are used for purposes other than those for which they were designed. This includes connecting them to a non-Miele vacuum cleaner.

Use the accessories only as described in this manual.

Safety tips for the Hand-held Turbobrush

The Hand-held Turbobrush conforms to current safety requirements. Incorrect use can, however, present a risk of both personal injury and material damage.

Read the operating instructions carefully before using the Hand-held Turbobrush for the first time to avoid damage or injury.

Correct use

The Hand-held Turbobrush must only be used to vacuum and brush dry surfaces. Do not use on people or animals.

Any other use, modification or alteration of the Hand-held Turbobrush is not allowed.

Safety with children

• Keep children at a safe distance when you are using the Hand-held Turbobrush. They could catch hold of the rotating roller brush and injure themselves.

Technical safety

Do not leave the appliance when plugged in. Unplug it from the outlet when not in use and before servicing.
Do not let the Hand-held Turbobrush get wet. Clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth. If moisture gets into the appliance there is a risk of electric shock.

Use

Never touch the roller brush while it is rotating. Risk of injury!
- Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and all parts of the body away from any openings or moving parts.
Turn the vacuum cleaner off during breaks to avoid danger.
Do not use the vacuum to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use it in areas where fumes may be present.

Do not use the vacuum or Hand-held Turbobrush to pick up liquids. This also applies to freshly shampooed carpets or rugs. Wait until they are dry before vacuuming.
Do not use the Hand-held Turbobrush to vacuum anything that may damage the rollers. Nails, safety pins, buttons, etc. should not be vacuumed.
Do not pick up items that are burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.

Using the accessories

② Active Air Clean exhaust filter Removes odors caused by the dirt in the dust bag.
③ Hand-held Turbobrush For cleaning upholstered furniture, car seats, carpeted stairs, etc. The rotation of the roller brush helps the removal of hairs and lint.

Observe the cleaning instructions of the manufacturer of the surface to be cleaned.

④ Hygiene seal Reduces the escape of dust and odors from the dust bag when it is removed from the vacuum cleaner.

Maintenance of the Hand-held Turbobrush

Always turn off and unplug the vacuum cleaner before cleaning or performing maintenance work on the Hand-held Turbobrush.

Removing threads and hairs

• With a pair of scissors, cut any threads or hairs that have become tangled on the roller brush. To guide the scissors, follow the guide track in the roller.
• Then turn the vacuum cleaner on to vacuum up the bits.

For stubborn dirt or blockages inside the Hand-held Turbobrush, the cover can be opened. Any large particles inside it can then be easily removed.

• Rotate the grip A so the release button is in the center of the guide.
  Press release button and pull the grip out of the Hand-held Turbo brush until it clicks.
• Flip the top part of the casing up until it clicks and remove any debris from the inside of the casing and from the brush roller.
• Close the casing and push the grip back into position until it clicks into place over the release button.
