Frequently Asked Questions - DD 8795 AEG-ELECTROLUX
How to install the DD 8795 hood?
Installation must be carried out by a qualified person. Use the supplied template to drill holes, fix the support bracket, hang the hood and adjust the position. Respect a minimum distance of 300 mm above an electric hob. For electrical connection, follow local regulations and use a bipolar switch with a contact opening of at least 3 mm.
How to clean the metal grease filter?
Remove the front panels, then push the stop device to extract the filter. Wash it by hand in hot water with a mild detergent or in a dishwasher at least 65°C. Put it back after drying. The filter must be cleaned every 4 weeks.
When should the charcoal filter be replaced?
The Long Life charcoal filter can be cleaned every two months (about 160 hours of use) and must be replaced every three years approximately. To clean it, put it in the dishwasher then dry it in the oven at 100°C for 10 minutes to reactivate the charcoal.
How to replace the lighting bulb?
Disconnect the hood from power. Unlock the bulb with a screwdriver, remove the connector, replace with an identical bulb (halogen 12V 20W GU4, type Philips Standard Line 425409). Reassemble the connector. If the bulb does not light up, check that it is correctly installed.
What do the different colors of the control ball mean?
Green steady: power 1; Orange steady: power 2; Red steady: power 3; Red flashing: intensive (5 min); Green flashing: grease filter saturation; Orange flashing: charcoal filter saturation.
How to reset the filter saturation indicator?
After cleaning or replacing the filter, select the intensive speed (control ball red flashing), press again and hold for about 3 seconds until you hear a beep. This resets the indicator.
What is the minimum distance between the hood and the cooktop?
For electric cooktops, the minimum distance is 300 mm. For gas, oil or coal cooktops, no open flame is allowed under the hood. Consult local regulations for other types.
Can I use the hood in recirculation mode without buying a charcoal filter?
No, recirculation mode requires an activated charcoal filter (optional) that filters odors and returns air to the room. Without this filter, the hood will not work correctly in recirculation.
How to connect the hood electrically?
The connection must be made by a qualified electrician. Use a grounded outlet or a bipolar switch (opening distance > 3 mm). Check that the voltage is 230 V and that the cable is not damaged. Do not use an extension cord.
What to do if the hood does not work after installation?
First check the electrical connection (fuse, circuit breaker). Ensure that the control ball is used correctly (press down to turn on). If the lighting does not work, check the bulb. If the problem persists, contact after-sales service with the model and serial number.
