Information on setup and use of the appliance

  4. For safety reasons, never place the appliance on hot surfaces, a metal tray or a wet surface.
  5. Never immerse the base housing in water or other liquids.

  7. Always use the appliance on a level, uncluttered and heat-resistant surface.
  8. Make sure that the power cord does not hang over the edge of the countertop or table, since this can cause accidents, for example if small children pull on the cord.

BEFORE FIRST USE / AFTER EXTENDED NON-USE

  1. Remove all packaging materials and any transport safety devices.
  2. Clean all parts with a damp cloth, as described in the chapter "Cleaning and care" on page 21.
  3. Check to make sure that the appliance is stable. Choose a cool, shady spot, since direct sunlight or heat from an oven can cause the milk in the milk tank to warm more quickly and spoil.
  4. Fill the water tank with 600ml fresh, cold tap water.
  5. Caution: Do not use carbonated or distilled water. This could damage the appliance. However, non-carbonated bottled water is safe to use.
  6. Insert the cleaning cup in the appliance. The long spout of the container must slide into the guide rail in the base housing.
  7. Connect the end of the power cord with the socket on the side of the appliance.
  8. Plug the other end of the power cord into an electrical outlet (220-240 V~, 50/60 Hz) and switch on the appliance with the ON/OFF switch.

  1. First, the two buttons A + B will flash. This indicates that the appliance is in the warming phase.
  2. As soon as both buttons remain illuminated, press the "Clean" button. The cleaning program starts.
  3. The cleaning program is finished after about 30 seconds and then you can use the appliance.

BEFORE DAILY USE

  1. Fill the water tank with 600ml fresh, cold tap water.

must pour in at least 200ml of milk, but not more than 600 ml. Close the milk tank with the corresponding lid. Make sure that the suction tube is seated firmly in the lid.

  1. Insert the milk tank into the base housing (see illustration). Make sure that the milk tank locks into place.

  2. Depending on the size of the cup used, now place the drip tray and drip grate under the milk frothing head.

  3. Plug the power cord of the appliance into an electrical outlet (220-240 V~, 50/60 Hz) and switch it on with the ON/OFF switch.
  4. First, the two buttons A + B will flash. This indicates that the appliance is in the warming phase.
  5. Place a cup on the drip tray.
  6. As soon as the A + B buttons remain illuminated press the "B" button and wait for the appliance to prepare one portion of frothed milk, which you then discard.
  7. The appliance is now ready for daily use.

TIPS FOR PROPER USE OF THE MILK

  1. Make sure that the milk was refrigerated before use. It should be at a temperature of about 4^ for best results.

  2. Replace the milk in the milk tank every hour, if possible.

MAKING HOT MILK

  1. Prepare the appliance as described in the section "Before daily use".
  2. Place a cup on the high drip tray.
  3. Press the A button.
  4. The hot milk flows into the cup and the appliance stops automatically. If you wish to interrupt the process earlier, press the A button again.

MAKING FROTHED MILK FOR CAPPUCCINO OR LATTE MACCHIATO

  1. Prepare the appliance as described in the section "Before daily use".
  2. Place a cup on the high drip tray or a glass on the low drip tray.
  3. Press the B button.
  4. The frothed milk flows into the cup and the appliance stops automatically. If you wish to interrupt the process earlier, press the B button again.
  5. Note: the temperature for hot milk is about 47 - 52^ for frothed milk it is about 65^

USE OF THE ADAPTER WITH SILICONE HOSE

  1. You can use the hose to increase the amount of frothed milk produced.
  2. Remove the front cover by pulling it forward and away from the appliance.
  3. Fasten the adapter by allowing it to slide into the guide rail beneath the milk frothing head.
  4. Remove the milk tank, if necessary.
  5. Insert the other end of the tube into a milk carton, for example, or a large container with cold milk.

  6. Now you can prepare hot milk or frothed milk as described above; the appliance will take the milk from the external container for processing.

PROGRAMMING THE FILL QUANTITY

  1. When programming the fill quantity, make sure that there is enough milk in the milk tank and always place a large enough container under the milk spout.
  2. To reset the appliance to the factory setting, press buttons A and B simultaneously for 3 seconds.

Hot milk

  1. You can change the quantity and duration for preparation of the milk. With the factory setting, the appliance prepares 150ml of hot milk in 30 seconds.
  2. Press the A button for about 3 seconds until the button starts to flash.
  3. The appliance prepares hot milk until you press the A button again.
  4. From this point on, the appliance will always prepare this amount of hot milk. The setting can be adjusted from 5-60 seconds. When

set to 60 seconds the appliance prepares about 300ml of hot milk.

Frothed milk

  1. You can change the quantity and duration for preparation of the milk. With the factory setting, the appliance prepares 100ml of frothed milk in 20 seconds.
  2. Press the B button for about 3 seconds until the button starts to flash.
  3. The appliance prepares frothed milk until you press the B button again.
  4. From this point on, the appliance will always prepare this amount of hot milk. The setting can be adjusted from 5-30 seconds. When set to 30 seconds the appliance prepares about 100ml of hot milk.

ENERGY SAVING (STAND-BY) MODE

  1. If you do not use the appliance for 5 minutes it automatically switches to stand-by mode. All three buttons light up one after the other.
  2. To leave stand-by mode, press either button A or B briefly.
  3. You can extend the time after which the appliance switches to stand-by mode to 30 minutes. To do this, switch the appliance off.

  4. Press the B button and switch the appliance on. Keep the B button pressed until all buttons light up. Now the appliance will switch to stand-by mode after 30 minutes.

  5. If you wish to reset this setting to 5 minutes, proceed as described above, but keep button A pressed until all the buttons light up.

SAFETY FUNCTION

If the front cover or the milk tank are removed from the appliance, the CLEAN button flashes quickly and the appliance will not prepare any more milk.

CLEANING AND CARE

For hygienic reasons, the appliance must be cleaned immediately after every use. Otherwise, the remnants of the milk could foster the growth of health-harming germs.

Before you use the appliance cleaning program:

  1. Fill the water tank with fresh, cold tap water (max. 600ml ) and insert the tank in the appliance.

  2. Remove the milk tank from the appliance and insert the cleaning cup.

  3. To clean the appliance thoroughly, also fill the milk tank with water (at least 200ml but not more than 600~ml of water).

Short cleaning program

  1. Before the first daily use of the appliance and in between, if the appliance has not been used for longer than 30 minutes.

  2. Press the CLEAN button briefly; the appliance executes the short cleaning program (about 30 seconds).

Long cleaning program

  1. This program should be executed before using the appliance the first time after purchase.
  2. Also use this program if the appliance was not used for an extended period and at the end of the day, after the last use. We recommend executing the long cleaning program two times consecutively.
  3. Press the CLEAN button for 2 seconds; the appliance executes the short cleaning program (about 60 seconds).

DESCALING

The appliance must be descaled after 3 months or 300 applications.

We recommend descending the appliance only after it has cooled.

The descending program lasts about five minutes. Use standard household descalers, such as those available in stores, and follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Dscaling, after the appliance has cooled

  1. Switch the appliance off and remove all accessories.
  2. Fill the tank with fresh, cold tap water and add the recommended quantity of household descaler.
  3. Place a large container under the milk spout.
  4. Now press the CLEAN button and, with the other hand, switch on the appliance.
  5. The descending process starts immediately; during this time the CLEAN button is illuminated.
  6. When the descending cycle is completed (as soon as the water tank is empty), leave the appliance switched on, clean the water tank thoroughly and fill it with water again.

  7. When you have completed the long cleaning program, the front cover and the milk frothing head must be cleaned, for hygienic reasons. The milk tank and the removable suction tube should be placed in warm water over night.

  8. To remove the suction tube, carefully pull the tube out of the lid for the milk tank.

Cleaning the housing and the accessory parts

  1. Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning it.
  2. Before cleaning, always turn off the appliance and unplug it from the power supply.
  3. Wipe off the base housing with a soft, dry cloth.
  4. Do not use any abrasive scouring agents, steel wool, metal objects, metal polish, hot cleaning agents or disinfectants, since they can damage the appliance.
  5. The removable parts, such as the water tank, milk tank, etc. are not dishwasher suitable.
  6. Clean these parts with warm water and a little mild dishwashing detergent; then allow the parts to dry thoroughly.

  7. Then press the CLEAN button for five minutes and let the appliance run for five minutes, until the water tank is empty.

  8. You must repeat this process once more before you switch off the appliance. Make sure to fill the water tank again before repeating the descending cycle. However, do not switch off the appliance during this time! Clean all accessories as described in the section on Cleaning and Care. Also clean the water tank thoroughly to remove all residue from the descaler.
  9. Before you prepare hot milk or frothed milk again, run the long cleaning program two times.

Dscaling, when the appliance is warm

  1. Carry out steps 1-3 as described above.
  2. Press the CLEAN button and, with the other hand, switch on the appliance.
  3. The CLEAN button lights up and the A and B buttons flash until the appliance has cooled sufficiently. This process can take a while.
  4. When the appliance has cooled, the CLEAN button remains illuminated and the A and B buttons no longer flash. Press the CLEAN button once.

  5. The descending process starts. Continue with step 5 as described above.

Our warranty terms apply only to appliances sold in Germany and Austria. For other countries, please contact the responsible importer. In the event of a claim for remedy of defects, please send the appliance to our after sales service, properly packaged and postage paid, together with a copy of the automatically generated sales receipt, which must show the date of purchase, and a description of the defect. If the defect is covered by the warranty, the customer will be reimbursed for the shipping costs. The warranty does not cover damage from normal wear, improper handling and failure to comply with the maintenance and care instructions. The warranty is void if repairs or modifications are made to the appliance by third parties. Any claims of the end consumer vis-à-vis the retailer are not limited by this warranty.
