GENERAL INFORMATION AND TIPS ON VACUUM PACKING
Vacuum packing can be used to keep vegetables, meat, etc. longer. Vacuum packed food does not take on odors and it is well protected against bacteria, mold, etc.
Vacuum packing can also be used to preserve tea or dried foods purchased on sale, for example.
Please use only bags and films that are suitable for vacuum packing, or use the container (available separately). Other bags can melt as a result of high temperatures and damage the appliance! Other containers could be destroyed by the high pressure, resulting in injury.
Our vacuum bags and films are made of a special patented five-ply plastic. This material is ideal for preserving foods.
The bags included with your vacuum packing machine are washable and can be reused; you can even wash the bags in the dishwasher. For detailed information, please refer to the chapter "Cleaning and care".
If you need foods more frequently, we recommend using the container. But it can also be used to keep lettuce fresh longer (in this case, place a paper towel in the container before putting in the lettuce and vacuum packing).
The bags are ideal for vacuum packing meat or fish; complete meals can also be packaged in portions so that they keep longer.
Please note that if the food to be vacuum packed is moist, it should be partially frozen first, since otherwise the liquid can run out during vacuum packing, which would prevent a vacuum from forming.
Also, make sure that no liquid, fat, etc. is in the vicinity of the bag's seal, since this will also prevent a vacuum from forming.
By the way, you can vacuum seal other things than just food. Old photographs, stamps, documents or silverware can be vacuum packed to protect it from damaging effects of the environment.
Bags or containers with vacuum packed food can be heated directly in hot water or the microwave. In this case, punch a small hole in the bag so that the pressure can escape. To heat foods in the container, the lid first has to be opened briefly. We recommend that you do not reuse bags that have been used for heating foods.
Meat, for example sauerbraten, can be marinated much more quickly in the vacuum container, since the effect of the vacuum causes the marinade to penetrate the meat more quickly and more thoroughly.
Please note, however, that vacuum packed foods also have to be stored properly. Perishable goods, for example, have to be cooled even if they are vacuum packed.
Please do not vacuum pack garlic or mushrooms. Vacuum packing of these foods causes a chemical reaction, which can result in spoilage.
PREPARED THE APPLIANCE FOR OPERATION
- Remove all packaging material and any transport safety devices.
- Clean all components with a damp cloth, as described in the chapter "Cleaning and care".

VACUUM PACKING IN BAGS
- Prepare the appliance as described in the section "Preparing the appliance for operation".
- Open the cover of the appliance. Check to make sure the seal is
inserted properly. If there are any foreign objects such as crumbs on the seal, they have to be removed, since otherwise no vacuum can be created.
- Fill the bag with the food to be vacuumed. For optimal results, the bag should not be too full. Leave about 8 cm between the contents and the edge of the bag.
- Place the open end of the bag in the middle of the vacuum packing chamber.
- Close the cover and press the two catches on the right and left of the appliance inward at the same time.
- Press the button "Vacuum & Seal". The indicator lamp lights up red to indicate that vacuum packing is in progress.
- When the optimal vacuum result has been achieved, the bag is sealed: the indicator lamp shows this by lighting orange.
-
The appliance starts with sealing, the vacuum pump no longer works.
-
When the process is completed, the indicator lamp lights green and the two catches on the appliance open automatically.
- Now open the lid and remove the bag.
- The vacuum packing process is completed and the food in the bag is vacuum sealed.
- If you only wish to seal the bag without a vacuum, just press the button "Seal Now".
- If you wish to interrupt the vacuum packing process, press the button "Vacuum & Seal" again.
- Always check whether the vacuum result meets your requirements and ensure that the sealing strip is complete and flawless.
VACUUM PACKING WITH FILM FROM THE ROLL
- Prepare the appliance as described in the section "Preparing the appliance for operation".
- Open the cover of the appliance. Check to make sure the seal is inserted properly. If there are any foreign objects such as crumbs on the seal, they have to be removed, since otherwise no vacuum can be created.
-
Cut the required amount of film from the roll. Caution: Add at least 7.5cm for vacuum packing. If you wish to reuse the bag, you have to add even more: allow 2.5cm for each vacuum packing process.
-
Place one open end of the film over the sealing gasket. You do not have to insert this end of the bag into the vacuum packing chamber, since the bag first has only to be sealed, without creating a vacuum.
- Close the cover and press the two catches on the right and left of the appliance inward at the same time.
-
Press the button „Seal Now“. The indicator lamp lights up orange to indicate that the appliance is sealing. The vacuum pump is still off.

Caution: Do not use the vacuum packing bottle stoppers for very thin glass bottles, for crystal, plastic or aluminum bottles or for damaged bottles.
Please do not vacuum pack any carbonated liquids. These liquids have to be preserved under pressure. Vacuum packing causes them to lose the carbonation.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem Solution
No function when a button is pressed.
- Check to make sure that the appliance is correctly plugged into the power supply.
- Check for damage to the power cord.
- Check to make sure that the power outlet you are using functions properly by plugging another appliance into it.
No vacuum can be created.
- Check for holes in the bag. To do so, you can seal the bag so that there is still some air in it. Place the bag in water and press down on it somewhat. If air bubbles rise from the bag, there is a hole in it. Please use a new bag.
If you are using a bag you have made yourself, check the sealing strip of the bag. If there is a crease in the sealing strip, this prevents air from being drawn from the bag. Cut the bag off at this point and seal it again.
The bag loses the vacuum.
- Check the sealing strip of the bag. If there is a crease in the sealing strip, no vacuum can be created. Open the bag and vacuum pack it again.
Remnants of fat, liquids, crumbs, etc. in the vicinity of the sealing bar can cause the air to escape. Open the bag, clean the affected area thoroughly and vacuum pack it again.
- Foods with sharp edges, such as bones, can damage the bag. In this case, you will have to use a new bag. If you wish to vacuum pack such foods, first wrap them in a paper towel.
Problem Solution
The bag cannot be sealed.
- Check to make sure that the cover of the vacuum packing machine is properly closed. If the cover is loose, the appliance will continually create a vacuum and cannot seal the bag or container.
Remnants of fat, liquids, crumbs, etc. in the vicinity of the sealing strip can keep the bag from sealing. Open the bag, clean the affected area thoroughly and seal it again.
No vacuum can be created in the container.
- Check to make sure that the arrow on the lid of the container is set to "Vacuum".
Make sure that the hose is correctly connected. - Check to make sure that there is at least 1cm of space between the contents and the top edge of the container, since otherwise no vacuum can be created.
Make sure that the container and the lid are not damaged by hairline cracks. Hairline cracks can cause the container to leak, and no vacuum can be created. In this case, the container has to be replaced.
The vacuum bottle stopper does not create a vacuum.
- Make sure that the vacuum bottle stopper is properly inserted in the bottle. If it is too loose, air can enter the bottle, preventing a vacuum from forming.
Make sure that the edge of the bottle and the bottle stopper are undamaged and free of fat, crumbs, etc. Impurities on the bottle stopper or the bottle can prevent a vacuum from forming.
Make sure that the hose is correctly connected.
The appliance is working but can not seal the bag.
- When the appliance is working time too long, the heating thread is overheated. In order to ensure the machine safety and the sealing performance, the heating thread is stopped by the temperature controller. In this case please stop the appliance working for about two minutes; the heating thread will cool down. Then restart the appliance.
