Safety, comfort and user friendliness have played an important role in the development of the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX. This product meets the most stringent safety regulations. Research shows that a high number of pushchairs are incorrectly installed. Therefore, please take the time to read through the instruction manual carefully. The Maxi-Cosi Citi CX offers maximum safety only when it is used in accordance with the instructions. Continuous research by our development team, user tests and consumer reactions ensure that we are kept fully up to date in the field of child safety. - WARNING: Read the instruction manual carefully and keep it for future reference. Not following the instructions in this manual may endanger the safety of your child.
- WARNING: Your child’s safety is your responsibility.
- WARNING: Never leave your child unattended in a pushchair.
- WARNING: Prior to use, check to ensure all interlocking devices are secured.
- WARNING: Articles hung on the handle bar may cause the pushchair to become unstable and can increase the risk of tipping.
- WARNING: Always secure your child with the safety harness and always use the crotch strap together with the lap and shoulder belts, even when using the footmuff.
- WARNING: To ensure your child’s safety, we advise against skating or running with the pushchair.
- WARNING: Check that the pram body or seat unit attachment devices are correctly engaged. General Instructions
- Only use the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX for one child at a time.
- The Maxi-Cosi Citi CX is suitable for children from birth to 4 years of age (maximum weight 20 kg). When used with a Maxi-Cosi car safety seat or Dreami carry cot, the maximum weight shown on the car safety seat or carry cot applies.
- It is advisable to only use the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX as a buggy once your child is able to sit unassisted.
- We advise against using the pushchair insert for children younger than 6 months old.
- Always make sure that the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX is completely unfolded and that the safety locks are properly secured before placing your child in the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX.
- Keep children away from moving parts while folding, unfolding or adjusting the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX.
- Always use the parking brake when parking the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX, even when just standing still.
- Inspect and clean the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX regularly. Never use harsh cleaning agents or lubricants.
- Never lift the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX or use on escalator or stairs when there is a child in the pushchair.
- Use original accessories and manufacturer-approved parts only.
- No alterations may be made to the product. If you have any complaints or problems, please contact your supplier or importer.
- Keep all plastic packaging material out of the reach of children and pets, as these materials pose a choking hazard.
- The Maxi-Cosi Citi CX has been approved in accordance with: NFS 54-001, prEN 1888:2002, BS 7409:1996.
- Pull both handlebar safety locks at the same time in the direction of the handle and pull the handles upwards (A1).
- The handlebars are locked into the operating position when you hear a "click" (A2).
- Check to make sure the handlebars are secured properly.
- To lock the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX, move the tensioning handle forward until it is covers the area marked with a red sticker (A3).
- The footrest should now be completely unfolded (horizontal). Folding the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX (B1-B3)
- Before folding the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX, release the brake and place the backrest of the seat in an upright position.
- First push the tensioning handle downward (B1) and then in one move pull it back in (see the arrow on illustration).
- Pull both handlebar safety locks upwards at the same time (B2) and then push the handlebars downwards (B3).
- The handlebars are locked into the transport position when you hear a "click".
- You can lift the folded Maxi-Cosi Citi CX of using the carrying handle at the front. The brake (C1) ALWAYS USE THE BRAKE WHEN PARKING THE MAXI-COSI CITI CX, ALSO WHEN AT A STANDSTILL!
- Push down on the red brake pedal on the righthand rear wheel to lock both rear wheels simultaneously (C1-1). They are now in the parked position. ALWAYS CHECK WHETHER THE WHEELS ARE LOCKED.
- Release the brake by pushing down on the lefthand pedal (C1-2). Operating the swivelling wheels (D1) The swivelling wheels on the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX can be locked if you find it easier to push the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX with locked wheels on a particular type of surface.
- Press down the pedal to lock the swivelling wheels (D1-1). The wheels will automatically be locked once you start moving forward.
- Lift the pedal upward to release the swivelling wheels (D1-1). For use with the Dreami (up to 9 kg) and the Maxi-Cosi (for children up to 13 kg) (K1-K2)
- The pushchair seat must be removed (see instructions for removing pushchair seat) and the adapters supplied must be attached for use with the Dreami and Maxi-Cosi. Attaching the adapters (E1)
- Stand behind the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX.
- Place the adapter with LH on the lefthand side of the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX.
- Place the flat side of the adapter on the spring-loaded button (E1-1). Press the button with the adapter whilst at the same time pushing the adapter downward until you hear a click (E1-2). The spring-loaded button will now pop out of the opening in the adapter.
- Repeat this on the righthand side of the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX.
- Check whether both adapters are firmly secured. Placing the Dreami on the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX (F1)
- Unfold the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX and check whether it is properly locked, making sure that the adapters are well secured.
- Place the Dreami on the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX adapters with the foot end between the handlebars (F1).
EnglishThe adapters will drop into the adapter openings underneath the Dreami. You should hear a click on both sides upon fitting.
- Check whether the Dreami is secured properly by lifting the Dreami up by the handles. Removing the Dreami from the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX (F2)
- Hold on to the handles on both sides of the Dreami and place your thumbs on the control buttons to fasten it on to the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX (F2-1).
- Press the buttons and lift the Dreami off the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX (F2-2). Placing the Maxi-Cosi on the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX (G1)
- Unfold the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX and check whether it is properly locked, making sure that the adapters are well secured.
- Place the Maxi-Cosi on the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX adapters with the foot end between the handlebars. You should hear a click on both sides upon fitting (G1).
- Check whether the Maxi-Cosi is properly secured by lifting the Maxi-Cosi up using the carrying handle. Removing the Maxi-Cosi from the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX (G2)
- Stand at the head of the Maxi-Cosi, hold the Maxi-Cosi on both sides, press the two control buttons simultaneously (G2-1) and lift the Maxi-Cosi off the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX (G2-2). Removing the adapters (H1)
- Remove the adapter by pressing the spring-loaded button (H1-1) and at the same time sliding the adapter upwards (H2-2).
- Repeat this for the other adapter. Placing the pushchair seat on the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX (I1-I2) IMPORTANT!!! The seat can only be placed on a partially folded/unfolded Maxi-Cosi Citi CX, which means that the tensioning handle should not be used at this point.
- Fold the pushchair seat in half (backrest against the seat).
- Stand at the front of the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX (swivelling wheels) and slide the plastic strips onto the rails under the seat until you hear a click on both sides (I1).
- Unfold the backrest.
- Place the bottom of the adapter (pushchair seat) onto the spring-loaded button (I2-1). Press the spring-loaded button whilst at the same time sliding the adapter downwards until you hear a click. See instructions for attaching the adapter (E1).
- Repeat this on the other side.
- Next, unfold the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX completely and use the tensioning handle. Footrest Adjuster (J1)
- You can adjust the foot rest in 2 different positions to suit the length of your child's legs (J1).
- Release both foot rest adjusters (J1-1). Higher or lower the footrest as required (J1-2) and re-lock the footrest adjusters.
- Attention: you will also need to adjust the length of the footrest adjuster strap when adjusting the footrest (J1-3).
- When using the lowest footrest position, the strap must be used full length (use the top and bottom press studs).
- With the highest foot rest position, the strap should be at its shortest length (use the push buttons on the bottom and in the middle). Important!! If you do not adjust the strap to the correct length, the footrest will no longer fold up automatically.
Instructions for useRemoving the pushchair seat (K1-K2)
- Release the pushchair seat adapters by pressing the spring-loaded button (K1-1) and at the same time pushing the adapter upwards (K1-2). Do this on both sides.
- Fold the back of the pushchair seat forward. Push the spring-loaded buttons on both sides (K2-1) and slide the pushchair seat forward off the rails (K2-2). When Used as a pushchair (L1-L4) Safety Harness
- Apply the brake on the Maxi Cosi Citi CX (see Using the parking brake).
- Make sure the safety harness is loosened before placing your child (carefully!) into the seat.
- Slide the buckle sections together (L1-1) and fasten the lap and shoulder belts into the crotch strap by clicking the buckle sections into the fastener (L1-2).
- Adjust the belts to the size of your child by lengthening or shortening the belts using the clasps (L2).
- Push the buttons to open the fastener (L3).
- There are D rings for securing an additional safety harness. Make sure the safety harness complies with all safety standards (i.e. BS 6684) before using it.
- IMPORTANT: The press studs on the side of the seat are for attaching a footmuff only (L4).
WARNING: ALWAYS USE THE CROTCH STRAP IN COMBINATION WITH THE LAP AND SHOULDER BELTS.
Backrest adjuster (M1) The backrest of the pushchair seat can be adjusted into four different positions using the adjusters on both sides of the backrest.
- From a sitting to a lying position Press both buttons on the backrest adjusters (M1-1) whilst at the same time moving the backrest backwards. We advise you to move the back carefully if your child is seated in the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX.
- From a lying to a sitting position Push against the top of the backrest of the pushchair seat. The seat will lock automatically (M1-2). Make sure that the backrest adjusters on the right and lefthand side are in the same position. Adjusting the pushchair leg rest (N1) The leg rest on the pushchair can be adjusted into 2 different positions.
- Smaller children for whom the seat is still too long sit with their legs stretched out, so the leg rest should be in the higher position. The lower position can be used once they have grown.
- The leg rest will automatically click into the highest position when being moved upward (N1-1).
- To adjust the leg rest to the lower position, press both handles underneath simultaneously and push the leg rest downward (N1-2). Sun canopy (O1-O2)
- To attach the sun canopy, push both ends of the sun canopy into the openings on the adapters on the pushchair seat (O1).
- To remove the sun canopy, press the buttons on the adapters (O2-1) while pulling out the sun canopy (O2-2). The shopping basket The shopping basket under the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX can be used for items up to a maximum weight of 5 kg.
- If the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX has been damaged (i.e. in-flight , transport damage), have the product checked/repaired by your supplier before using it again.
- Clean the frame using a damp cloth. Do not use any abrasive detergents.
- Do not use lubricants, as these attract dirt and dust.
- Clean the shoppingbasket using a damp cloth; it cannot be removed.
- The covering may be washed by hand in lukewarm water.
- Use a soft detergent. Attention! Do not place the covering in the washing machine! (see washing label). Removing the cover before washing (P1)
- First, remove the pushchair seat from the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX. (see the instructions for removing the pushchair seat).
- Loosen the six press studs on the covering (P1) and then pull the safety harness through the slots in the cover.
- Remove the pushchair seat cover.
- To re-fit the cover, simply follow the instructions in reverse order. Accessories
- Original accessories are available for the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX, including a rain cover, footmuff and carrycot (Dreami). The use of non-original accessories can have an adverse affect on the working of the Maxi-Cosi Citi CX. Questions? Contact your supplier or importer (see address on the back). Warranty: Dorel Netherlands guarantees that this product complies with all safety requirements as specified in the current European safety standard EN 1888 / 2003, and that this product is free from defects in workmanship and material at the time of purchase. If this product shows material and/or workmanship defects after purchase and during the warranty period (with normal use as described in the instruction manual), Dorel Netherlands will assume the responsibility to repair or replace it. The warranty period is 24 months for the metal frame and 12 months for fabric components and other parts subject to wear, such as tyres, wheel bearings, and so forth. Normal wear and tear that can be expected with daily use of the product is therefore hereby excluded. The warranty does not apply in the following circumstances: - The product is not supplied to the manufacturer together with the original sales receipt. - The defect is the result of incorrect or negligent use, or maintenance that is contrary to the instructions given in the manual. - Repairs have been carried out by third parties. - There is discolouration, damage to the fabric or watermarks due to washing or rainwater and excessive exposure to sunlight (UV). - The defect is the result of negligence or damage to the fabric or frame due to a blow to the pushchair. - The defect is the result of an accident or airplane travel. - The defect is the result of overloading (exceeding the maximum weight allowance for the child and any items being carried). - The defect is the result of using a standing board or seat for a 2nd child. - There is normal wear and tear to the wheels, tyres and/or fabric (such as a flat tyre and/or loose press stud). - The product has been involved in a "collision" with a sidewalk kerb or heavy shop door, as this could cause the wheels and/or axles to be thrown out of alignment or bent, as a result of which the pushchair will not track well. - Damage to surfaces, such as plastic laminate floors, due to tire marks. - The stated warranty terms and conditions have not been satisfied.
WarrantyDate of effect: - The warranty period goes into effect as of the date of purchase of the product. Warranty term: - The warranty on the frame is valid for a period of 24 consecutive months. A term of 12 consecutive months applies to the fabric components and other parts susceptible to wear and tear. The warranty applies solely to the original owner and is non-transferable. If you discover a defect: - In the event of a defect, contact your retailer. If your retailer is unable to assist you, he will return the product to the manufacturer together with a description of the complaint and the original, dated sales receipt. Products that are returned directly to the manufacturer will NOT be eligible for the warranty. Fabric components and other parts subject to wear: - The cover should be cared for properly (see the instruction manual for care instructions). It is normal for fabric to discolour from sunlight and to show wear and tear after a long period of use, even when used normally. The warranty period for the cover and other parts subject to wear, such as the tyres, is therefore limited to a period of no more than 12 months as of the date of purchase. This Warranty Clause conforms to European Directive 99/44/EG of 25 May 1999.
