Frequently Asked Questions - DA 632 T Dominox

What is the minimum distance between the hood and the cooktop?
The minimum safety distance is 650 mm. Respect this distance to avoid any fire risk.
How to clean the metal grease filters?
The metal grease filters can be washed in the dishwasher or by hand with a mild detergent. It is recommended to wash them every 2 months or so, or more often with heavy use.
When should the activated carbon filter be replaced?
The activated carbon filter is not washable and must be replaced every 3-4 months or so, or more frequently with heavy use.
How to change the hood's bulbs?
First unplug the appliance. Remove the metal grease filters, unscrew the old bulbs and replace them with incandescent bulbs of maximum 40 W (or compatible LED equivalent). Reinstall the filters.
Can the hood operate in recirculation mode?
Yes, thanks to an activated carbon filter (not supplied in all versions). In recirculation mode, the air is filtered and then returned to the room. Make sure the directional grille is correctly installed.
What to do if the sliding carriage does not open easily?
During first use, open the sliding carriage firmly until you hear a click indicating the end of travel. If the problem persists, check that nothing is blocking the mechanism.
How to install the hood with screws?
Drill a 4.5 mm hole in the wall support using the provided template, then a 125 mm hole for air passage. Fix the hood with the 4 screws 4.2 x 44.4 (ref. 12a) supplied.
Can the hood be used without an exhaust duct?
Yes, in recirculation version with an activated carbon filter. Drill a 125 mm hole in the upper cabinet for air recirculation and fix the directional grille (ref. 8).
How to electrically connect the hood?
The hood must be connected to the mains via a bipolar switch with a contact opening of at least 3 mm. Make sure the voltage matches that indicated on the plate inside the hood.
What to do if the hood does not turn on?
First check that the appliance is powered on (main switch on). Then check the lighting and motor separately. If the problem persists, contact a professional.

RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS

INSTALLATION

  • The manufacturer will not be held liable for any damages resulting from incorrect or improper installation.
  • The minimum safety distance between the cooker top and the extractor hood is 650 mm.
  • Check that the mains voltage corresponds to that indicated on the rating plate fixed to the inside of the hood.
  • For Class I appliances, check that the domestic power supply guarantees adequate earthing. Connect the extractor to the exhaust flue through a pipe of minimum diameter 120 mm. The route of the flue must be as short as possible.
  • Do not connect the extractor hood to exhaust ducts carrying combustion fumes (boilers, fireplaces, etc.).
  • If the extractor is used in conjunction with non-electrical appliances (e.g. gas burning appliances), a sufficient degree of aeration must be guaranteed in the room in order to prevent the backflow of exhaust gas. The kitchen must have an opening communicating directly with the open air in order to guarantee the entry of clean air.

USE

  • The extractor hood has been designed exclusively for domestic use to eliminate kitchen smells.
  • Never use the hood for purposes other than for which it has been designed.
  • Never leave high naked flames under the hood when it is in operation.
  • Adjust the flame intensity to direct it onto the bottom of the pan only, making sure that it does not engulf the sides.
  • Deep fat fryers must be continuously monitored during use: overheated oil can burst into flames.
  • The hood should not be used by children or persons not instructed in its correct use.

MAINTENANCE

  • Switch off or unplug the appliance from the mains supply before carrying out any maintenance work.
  • Clean and/or replace the Filters after the specified time period.
  • Clean the hood using a damp cloth and a neutral liquid detergent.

  1. Low speed, used for a continuous and silent air change in the presence of light cooking vapour.
  2. Medium speed, suitable for most operating conditions given the optimum treated air flow/noise level ratio.
  3. Maximum speed, used for eliminating the highest cooking vapour emission, including long periods.
