Traditional Cheese Raclette (EN)

  1. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

  2. Children shall not play with the appliance.

  3. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.

  4. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.

  5. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

  6. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as: staff kitchen areas in shop, offices and other working environment; farm houses; by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; bed and breakfast type environments.

  7. Read these instructions carefully and keep them in a safe place.

  8. Only use the appliance as described in this manual.

  9. In case of damage caused by failure of not living up to this manual the warranty will decay immediately. The manufacturer/importer accepts no liability for damages caused by failure to not living up the manual, a negligent use or use not in accordance with the requirements of this manual.

  10. Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.

  11. Always remove the power cord and let it cool: before moving the unit; before the unit is stored; before you go

mounting or dismantle parts; before cleaning or maintenance work; after use.

Electricity and heat

  1. Before use, check that the mains power supply voltage is the same and the voltage is the same as the voltage indicated on the appliance.
  2. Always plug the appliance into an earthed plug socket.
  3. Regularly check the power cord for damage.
  4. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to manufacturer or the nearest authorized service agent for examination, repair or electrical or mechanical adjustment.
  5. To remove the plug from the plug socket, pull the plug. Do not pull the power cord.
  6. Make sure the power cord does not come into contact with hot surfaces or steam.

Using the appliance

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

  1. Remove all packaging and stickers. Keep packing materials away from children.
  2. The appliance is not assembled. Assemble it as described under "Assemble the appliance".
  3. Clean the appliance as described under "cleaning and maintenance".
  4. When first use the appliance, some smoke will occur. This is normal and the smoke will disappear automatically.
  5. The appliance is ready for use.

ASSEMBLE THE APPLIANCE

  1. Slide the height regulator (13) over the support (4) and then put the support in the support opening (14) on the base (7).
  2. Slide the height regulator to the desired height and tightly fasten the screw (5) on the height regulator.
  3. Tightly fasten the screw (6) on the support opening.
  4. Insert the power cord in the connection (3).
  5. The appliance is ready for use.

USE

  1. Place the appliance on a stable surface.
  2. Turn the cheese tray (9) towards the outside and put a piece of cheese on the tray.
  3. Slide the cheese tray to the desired height with the height regulator (13), depending on the thickness of the cheese.
  4. If you use a part of cheese, you can turn the cheese tray into a corner of 45^ by using the screw (10) for inclination to adjust the cheese tray so that the upper side of the cheese lies horizontally. Then tighten the screw (10).
  5. Insert the plug in the socket and turn the thermostat knob (2) to the desired position. The temperature control light (1) will illuminate. As soon as the desired temperature is reached the control light will go out.
  6. Turn the cheese tray below the heating element. Let the cheese melt. Caution: the appliance is very hot during operation, please don't touch the appliance surface.

Tips: If the cheese does not melt (enough), please check below:

  • Check if the plug is correctly inserted into the socket and into the connection of the appliance.
  • The cheese is too far away from the heating element. Please place the cheese tray under the heating element and adjust the height by the screw.
    • The chosen temperature is too low. Turn the thermostat knob clockwise to a higher temperature.
  • The used cheese is not suited to melt. Please use raclette cheese.

  • Turn the cheese tray away from the appliance with the handles as soon as the cheese is sufficiently melted.

  • Scrape the amount of cheese as you desire.
  • After 2 or 3 portions, remove the excessive crust before you continue.
  • Push the cheese tray back below the heating element. If necessary, adjust the height of the cheese tray. Attention: the appliance is hot! To change the height of the cheese tray while in use, please use oven gloves.
  • After use, turn off the thermostat knob and unplug the appliance from the socket and then from the supply cord connection on the appliance.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  1. Let the appliance completely cool down before you move, disassemble or clean the appliance.
  2. Clean the cheese tray with warm soapy water. Do not use any scourer or abrasive products.
  3. Wipe the appliance with a clean humid cloth and dry thoroughly.
  4. If needed, remove the heat reflector (pull out from the upper heating element) and clean with warm soapy water. Do not use any scourer of abrasive products.
  5. No parts can be cleaned in a dishwasher.
