- Make sure all packing materials are removed. Clean the appliance and accessories according to below "cleaning and maintenance".
- Make sure that there is enough ventilation around the appliance.
- The appliance should not be placed on an untreated wood surface. Place the appliance on a level and heat resistant surface.
- Operate the appliance before first use for approximately 10 minutes in order to burn off production residues. Make sure there is good ventilation. The appliance may emit some smoke and a characteristic smell when you switch it on for the first time. This is normal and will stop soon.
Grill like a real Chef.
Preparing your meat in advance (take it out of the refrigerator, let it reach room temperature before you put it on the grill-plate) gives your meat a more even cooked result. It also prevents the grill-plate from deforming if the meat and other ingredients are too cold.
OPERATION
Place the appliance in the middle of the table and plug in. Two temperature control knobs will illuminate blue.
Grill plate
- Cut the meat into small pieces. You can thus reduce the cooking time.
- Rotate the temperature control knob for grill to your desired position. Its indicator light illuminates red and the appliance heats up.
NOTE: When first use, drop some oil on the surface of the plate and then wipe it off with dry cloth. - When your desired temperature is reached, its indicator light will illuminate blue again; you can put your food on the gill plate to start cooking.
- During cooking, the heating element will be on or off to maintain the set temperature and its indicator light will illuminate blue or red accordingly.
- You can grill toasts in the raclette pans, fry eggs or potatoes and many other things. Meat can be prepared on the grill plate.
NOTE: Always remember to add some grease to mini pans before use. - After use, rotate the temperature control knob for grill to position "MIN". Then, unplug the appliance.
Fondue pot
The appliance has a fondue pot. You can fill the fondue pot with oil, chocolate or cheese. Do not over the Max line inside the pot.
a) Oil fondue
Caution: Do not move your appliance when the oil is hot!
1) Pour the oil in the pot and ensure that the oil level is between the min and max levels marked inside the pot. Warning: failure to observe this might damage your appliance or get burned by splashing oil.
2) Turn the temperature control knob for fondue pot to the "MAX" position. Its indicator light illuminates red and the appliance heats up.
3) Cut the meat into small equal sized pieces (2 to 3 cm).
4) Wait until the oil has reached the desired temperature. To make sure the oil has heated up sufficient, preheat the oil for 30 minutes. To check if the temperature is sufficient, immerse a piece of meat into the oil. If the meat starts frying immediately, it means that the oil has reached the necessary temperature.
5) Using the fondue forks. Skewer the meat and place the meat carefully into the oil to avoid splashes. Rest the fondue forks in the slots of the forks supporter and wait until the meat is cooked. Depending on the amount of meat that you will immerse, the oil might start boiling. If this happens, reduce the temperature by turning the temperature knob anticlockwise.
6) During cooking, the heating element will be on or off to maintain the set temperature and its indicator light will illuminate blue or red accordingly.
7) After use, rotate the temperature control knob to position "MIN". Then, unplug the appliance.
b) Cheese / chocolate fondue
1) Cut the cheese/ chocolate and put it in the pot.
2) Turn the temperature control knob for fondue pot to the "MAX" position. Its indicator light illuminates red and the appliance heats up. It is not necessary to use the forks supporter.
3) Stir regularly with a wooden spoon when the cheese / chocolate starts to melt.
4) Regulate the temperature of the thermostat so that the cheese / chocolate melts but does not boil.
5) Using the fondue forks, you can dip your food into the melted cheese / chocolate.
6) After use, rotate the temperature control knob to position "MIN". Then, unplug the appliance.
