☐ Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance.
☐ Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the rating plate of the appliance before using the appliance.
☐ Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use. Keep out of reach of children or incompetent persons.
From time to time check the appliance and its cord for damages and should it be damaged, have it checked by a competent qualified electrician (*). If the power cord is damaged, it cannot be repaired but it must be replaced by an identical power cord or a cord similar to the original one and showing the same characteristics. In case of doubt or if you do not find the identical power cord, please contact a competent qualified electrician (*).
☐ Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and in the way indicated in these instructions.
☐ Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever. Never place it into the dishwasher.
☐ Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.
□ Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment.
☐ Never use accessories that are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance.
☐ Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
☐ Stand the appliance on a table or flat surface to prevent it from falling down.
☐ Your model contains a separate base and a removable power cord, make sure to remove the jug kettle from the base before filling it. Unplug the appliance before filling the jug.
□ Always fill the kettle between the minimum and maximum marks. The water must never be below the minimum mark or the heating element might be damaged. Do not overfill the jug kettle as boiling water might overflow.
☐ When filling the tea pot, respect the level indication; do not exceed level 10.
☐ Make sure the lid of the jug kettle is correctly closed during use. Never raise the lid when the jug kettle is in use and when there are risks of hot water projection due to the bubbling.
☐ Be careful not to get burned by the hot steam that evaporates when the water is boiling and especially when you open the lid.
☐ Caution: when pouring water in the tea pot, proceed gently in order to avoid splashes.
☐ Only use your tea pot and jug kettle with the base supplied.
□ Never put tea bags in the tea pot.
☐ Let the jug kettle, the tea pot and their base cool down before cleaning, storing or refilling.
BEFORE THE FIRST OPERATION
It is necessary to rinse your jug kettle and tea pot before their first use. Rinse the tea pot under running water. To rinse the jug kettle, fill it with cold water and switch it on. When the water boils, let the appliance cool down, rinse it and repeat the process 2 or 3 times making sure only to put clear water in it.
• Always remove the jug from the power base before filling it.
- Raise the lid by pressing its release button (1) situated on top of the lid and and fill the jug with fresh water paying attention not to fill under the minimum mark and above the maximum mark on the kettle. You can see the level thanks to the transparent water level indicator. It is absolutely necessary to follow this instruction.
- Close the lid by pressing it down until it you hear a click. Make sure it closes correctly.
- Put the jug onto the power base (6), insert the cord into the opening in the back of the base (11) and insert the plug into the wall socket. Put the switch (2) situated on the handle of the jug kettle to position "1". The pilot light (3) comes on, indicating that the jug kettle is heating.
- The jug kettle will switch off automatically when the water has boiled (the pilot light comes out) but you can also stop it anytime by putting the kettle's switch in "0" position.
- For instant reboiling, wait until water has cooled down and switch on the appliance again.
USING THE TEA POT AND THE HOT PLATE
- Open the lid and fill the filter (4) with the desired amount of bulk tea (never use tea bags).
- After having boiled water with the jug kettle, pour the water gently in the tea pot, through the filter.
• The level indicated on the teapot corresponds to the number of cups (4, 6, 8, 10). - Press the tea gently with the pusher (5) of the lid.
- If you want to keep the tea warm, put the teapot on the hot plate (7) and put the switch of the base (10) on the "1" position; the pilot light (8) on the front side of the base illuminates to indicate that the base is switched on. Caution: this system only keeps the tea warm; it does not allow to boil water. However, make sure not to let an empty teapot on the hot plate when it is operating.
BOIL-DRY PROTECTION
- This jug kettle is protected with an automatic safety device if accidentally switched on without water.
- Should this happen, switch off the appliance and wait about 10 minutes for the element to cool. Then fill the jug kettle with cold water. This will reset the safety device. The kettle may then be used as normal.
- Should the problem persist, please contact the nearest customer service.
CLEANING AND CARE
- Always unplug the base and let it cool down before cleaning. Detach the cord from the basis before cleaning it.
- Clean the plastic and glass parts with soft cloth. Use a soft brush to clean the limescale on the interior parts of the jug kettle.
- Never use abrasive products.
• Never immerse the jug kettle and the base in water or any other liquid.

DESCALING
To remove scale from the jug kettle, use products made especially available for this purpose. Make sure to use a type recommended for plastic kettles.
