How do I descale my WK 24 kettle?

To descale, fill the kettle with a mixture of water and white vinegar (1:1 ratio) to the maximum level. Bring to a boil, then let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Repeat if necessary.

Why does my kettle stop before boiling?

This may be due to needed descaling or insufficient water level. Make sure to fill above the minimum level (0.5 L) and descale regularly.

Can I use the kettle with less than 0.5 L of water?

No, a minimum level of 0.5 L is required to avoid dry operation and damage. Failure to comply may trigger a safety automatic shut-off.

What to do if the lid does not close properly?

Check that the lid is properly engaged. If the problem persists, the sealing gasket may be damaged. Contact customer service for a replacement part.

Does the kettle heat automatically when placed on the base?

No, the kettle only heats when you press the switch after placing it on the base. The 360° swivel base allows easy repositioning.

Can I clean the kettle in the dishwasher?

No, do not put the kettle in the dishwasher. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth and the interior with a soft brush. The limescale filter is removable and can be rinsed with water.

How to replace the limescale filter?

The filter is located in the spout. Gently pull it upward to remove it. Replace it with a new compatible filter and push it in until it clicks.

The kettle makes an abnormal noise, is that normal?

A slight heating noise is normal, especially at the start of boiling. If the noise is loud or unusual, check the water level and descale. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

What is the maximum water capacity?

The maximum capacity is 1.7 L, indicated by the 'MAX' mark inside. Do not exceed this level to avoid overflow during boiling.

Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance.

☐ Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever. Never put it in the dishwasher.

☐ Never use accessories that are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance.

□ Stand the appliance on a table or flat surface.

☐ Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.

☐ If your type of appliance has a separate base or a detachable cord, remove them from the water cooker when filling it. If your appliance has a fixed cord, unplug it before filling it.

□ Always fill between the minimum and maximum marks. The water must never be below the minimum mark or the healing element might be damaged. Do not overfill the jug kettle as boiling water might overflow.

☐ When using, make sure the lid is closed correctly. Never raise the lid when the jug kettle is in use and when there are risks of hot water projection due to the bubbling.

☐ Be careful not to get burned by the hot steam that evaporates when the water is boiling and especially when you open the lid.

☐ Use only the base that is supplied with the jug kettle.

☐ Make sure the appliance has cooled down before cleaning and storing it.

BEFORE THE FIRST OPERATION

For the perfect taste, operate the jug kettle with fresh water in order to clean any residue left from the manufacturing process. When the appliance has cooled down, repeat the process 3 times with fresh water, before rinsing.

OPERATION

• Always remove the jug from the power base before filling it.
- Raise the lid and fill the tank with fresh water paying attention not to fill under the "MIN" mark and above the "MAX" mark in the kettle. You can see the level thanks to the transparent water level indicator.
- Close the lid by pressing it down until it you hear a click. Make sure it closes correctly.
- Put the jug onto the power base, plug into the wall socket and switch on. The pilot light on the handle will come on. If it does not come on, check if the jug kettle is placed correctly on its base. If the problem persists, contact the nearest customer service.
- The jug kettle will switch off automatically when the water is boiling. However, you can switch it off anytime by pressing the on/off switch.
• For instant reboiling, wait until water has cooled down and switch on the appliance again.

SAFETY CUT-OUT

• This jug kettle is protected with an automatic safety device if accidentally switched on without water.
• In this case, switch off the appliance and wait about 10 minutes for the element to cool. Then fill the jug kettle with cold water. This will reset the safety device.
  • The kettle may then be used as normal.
  • Should the problem persist, please contact the nearest customer service.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Before attempting any cleaning operation, make sure the appliance is unplugged from the supply socket and fully cooled down.
• To clean the exterior surfaces, simply wipe over with a soft damp cloth and dry thoroughly. To remove scale from the inner walls of the kettle and from the filter you can use a soft brush.
  • Never use abrasive products
• On no account must the jug kettle or its power base be immersed in water.

DESCALING

To remove scale from the jug kettle, use products made especially available for this purpose. Make sure to use a type recommended for plastic kettles and follow the product's instruction manual carefully.
