IMPORTANT REMARKS The stone is a natural product. Small fissures can appear during the use. It is a normal phenomenon not covered by the guarantee. If the stone has been kept in a damp environment, heat it up slowly (2 to 3 hours) in a oven at 100°C or let it two days at ambient temperature. Avoid shocks when you move the stone. Also avoid the thermic shocks. Never place too large, too cold or frozen food on a hot stone. Never sprinkle a hot stone with cold water, it could crack. To avoid burns or fissures on the stone, never move a still hot stone. Only place food on a stone. Never place heavy objects on it. If you use soused meat, you have to know that the spices will penetrate the stone. This will decolour it and then give a taste to the grilled meat.
HOW TO USE YOUR APPLIANCE
Before the first use Before using your appliance for the first time clean the different pieces with a damp cloth and take away the carton wedges. Run the stone under running water (you can use a sponge to improve the cleaning). Never use abrasive or cleaning products. Rinse thoroughly and let dry. Place the polished face of the stone to the top. Make sure that the stone is correctly placed on the base. Oil the polished surface with a kitchen paper or with a small brush coated with heating-resistant table oil (olive or groundnut oil). Let oil penetrate the stone and then take away the superfluous oil. During the use Place the appliance on a table or a flat surface. Never place it on a (hot) cooking plate. Introduce the plug in the socket. Place the switch on the ON position and heat up the appliance approximatively during 30 minutes. Before grilling sprinkle the stone with salt. When heating (above all in the presence of oil), the stone can give off a smell and a light smoke. This phenomenon disappears after a couple of minutes. The stone can also lose its colour and become darker. This decolouration doesn’t have any influence on the functioning of the appliance. Wait until the stone is hot before placing food on it. Control their grilling and return them regularly with a wood spatula. Don’t pick the meat, it could lose its juice and its taste. The small pieces of meat and of fish are ready more quickly and better grilled than the large pieces. So it is recommended to first cut them in small pieces of 1 to 2 cm. The stone stocks naturally the heat. So you can disconnect the appliance 10 minutes before the end of the grilling. It is recommended to remove the rests of food from the stone during the grilling (with a wood spatula). Once the food is dry, it becomes more difficult to remove them.Generated by Unregistered Batch DOC TO PDF Converter 2011.3.804.1511, please register! Copies of the I/B. CARE & CLEANING Unplug the appliance and let all the pieces cool down during approximatively one hour before cleaning it. Cleaning of the grilling stone Clean the appliance after each use in order to avoid that rests of food stick. Never pour cold water on the hot stone, you could damage the appliance and cause splashes of boiling water. Clean the appliance only with hot water and possibly with a soft sponge. Never use cleaning products or abrasive products because those change the natural properties of the stone. Don’t scratch the stone with a sharp object in order not to damage the surface. Never immerse the stone in water. The stone is not dishwasher safe. If you have grilled fish on the stone, it is recommended to rub the stone light with vinegar or lemon juice. Cleaning of the base and of the stainless steel plate Clean the metal parts of the appliance with a kitchen paper, a damp sponge and washing-up liquid. Rinse and dry them thoroughly. In order to clean the tray you can immerse it totally in soapy water. Don’t use abrasive pads or steel wool because you could damage the enamelled housing.
