Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance, and always follow the safety and operating instructions.
Important: People (including children) who are not able to use the appliance in a safe way, due to their physical, sensorial or mental capacity or their lack of experience or knowledge, must never use the appliance except if they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or if they previously received instructions concerning the safe use of the appliance. Close supervision is necessary to prevent children from using the appliance as a toy.
☐ Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the appliance.
☐ Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use. Keep out of reach of children or incompetent persons.
From time to time check the appliance and its cord for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage. All repairs should be made by a competent qualified electrician(*).
☐ Never put the plug into a multiple power socket.
☐ Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and in the way indicated in these instructions.
☐ Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever. Never place it into the dishwasher.
□ Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.
Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance from the power supply.
☐ Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment.
☐ Never use accessories which are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance. Never put metal objects such as knives, forks, spoons or lids on the plate as these might get very hot.
☐ Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
☐ Stand the appliance on a table or flat surface. Do not let the cord hang.
☐ Make sure the appliance has cooled down before cleaning and storing it.
☐ Make sure the cord never comes into contact with the hot parts of the appliance.
☐ The temperature of the accessible surfaces may be very high when the appliance is in use. Never touch those surfaces during use, and only handle the buttons. After use, the ceramic plate may still be hot for a while, depending on how long it has been heating. Avoid contact with this surface.
☐ Make sure the appliance never comes into contact with inflammable materials, such as curtains, cloth, etc... when it is in use, as a fire might occur.
☐ Your appliance is equipped with an internal cooling system for which the ventilation openings need to be clean and they should never be obstructed. Check their state regularly and clean them if necessary.
□ Always unplug the appliance when it is not in use.
☐ Be extremely careful, as oil or fat preparations might catch fire when overheated.
☐ When using the appliance under an extractor hood, make sure to observe the minimal distance advised by the producer. It is even wiser to double this distance.
☐ Let about 10cm of free space around the appliance in order to allow proper air circulation.
☐ Only use the appliance for food that is supposed to be cooked.
☐ Never use receptacles in terracotta, glass, aluminium or copper, but only use receptacles especially made for induction cooking plates. Moreover, these receptacles must have a flat bottom with a diameter between 12cm and 25cm.
☐ Do not place the induction hotplate next to devices or objects which react sensitively to magnetic fields (e.g. radios, TVs, cassette recorders, etc.).
☐ Do not place any magnetic objects like credit cards, cassettes etc. on the glass surface while the device is in operation.
☐ Immediately unplug the appliance if a crack appears and make sure it is controlled by a qualified competent electrician(*).
☐ Your appliance must never be switched on through an external timer or any kind of separate remote control system.
(1) Competent qualified electrician: after sales department of the producer or importer or any person who is qualified, approved and competent to perform this kind of repairs in order to avoid all danger. In any case you should return the appliance to this electrician.
SUITABLE AND UNSUITABLE COOKWARE FOR THE INDUCTION COOKING PLATE
Suitable Cookware
- Pots and pans with a magnetic bottom, such as stainless steel pots with an iron bottom, cast iron, enamelled pans
• Flat-bottomed pans and pots with a diameter of 12 to 25 cm with a magnetic bottom
• Maximum weight of pot and content: 6 kg
Unsuitable Cookware
- Pots/pans with a diameter of less than 8 cm
• Ceramic pots, heat-proof glass
• Copper pots and pans, aluminium pots and pans - Containers with a curved bottom
USE
• Make sure the tension indicated on the appliance's rating label corresponds to the tension of your mains.
- Put the appliance on a stable, dry and heat-resistant surface near a power outlet.
- Put the plug in an earthed power socket. « - » appears on the control panel, indicating that the appliance is connected to the mains.
- Always place your cooking receptacle well in the middle of the cooking plate before switching it on. If you don't put a receptacle on the cooking plate or if you use a receptacle that is not suitable, the appliance will not heat and « E 1 » will appear on the display.
- Use only pans and pots especially conceived for induction cooking with a flat bottom of 12 to 25 cm diameter.
Power mode
- When you press the ON/OFF switch, the control panel lights up and the power mode is the default setting.
- The default power setting is « P-6 », but you can adjust the power (from P-1 to P-10) by turning the turning knob to the left (-) for a lower power or to the right (+) for a higher power. Once the power is set, it ceases to flash on the display and the control panel will show the power and the remaining cooking time alternately.
- To change the power when the appliance is in use, you just need to turn the turning knob to + or -.
- When you want to switch off the cooking plate, press the ON/OFF switch again.

Timer

- When you have selected a power setting, you can set a cooking time.
- To do so, press the « MENU » key once. The indicator lamp on the left of the watch lights up and « _ » flashes on the display for 5 seconds.
- During this time, turn the knob to + or - to choose a cooking time (in minutes). You can select a cooking time up to 180 minutes. The number of minutes will appear on the control panel.
- When you stop turning the knob, the last settings will be memorized and the control panel will show the power and the remaining time alternately. To change the power, turn the knob when the control panel shows the power.
- To change the cooking time when the appliance is in use, press the « menu » key. The remaining cooking time will flash for 5 seconds and you will be able to change it by turning the knob to + or -.
CAUTION : IF YOU DO NOT SET A COOKING TIME, THE APPLIANCE WILL FUNCTION WITHOUT INTERRUPTION.
Temperature mode
• According to your needs, you can choose the power mode or the temperature mode.
- To switch to temperature mode, press the « menu » key until the red indicator lamp on the left of symbol « °C » lights up.
- The default temperature setting is « 140» °C but you can adjust the temperature (between 60 and 220°C) by turning the knob to the left (-) for a lower temperature or to the right (+) for a higher temperature. Once the temperature has been set, it ceases to flash on the control panel and the temperature and the remaining cooking time will be shown alternately.
- To change the temperature when the appliance is in use, you just need to turn the knob to + or -.
- When you want to switch off the cooking plate, press the ON/OFF switch again.
End of cooking
- When the set time is finished, 5 beeps will sound and the appliance will stop heating and will switch off.
- If you remove the receptacle from the cooking plate before the set time is finished, « E 1 » will appear on the display and beeps will sound. In that case, put the receptacle back on the cooking plate to continue cooking or press the ON/OFF switch to switch off the plate.
- « - » flashes on the control panel and the fan of the cooking plate will keep functioning for a while to cool the appliance. Do not unplug the appliance as long as the cooling is not finished.
Error message : E6
When a too high temperature is detected, « E6 » will appear on the control panel. The cooking process will therefore be interrupted to decrease the temperature. Wait about 1 minute and reprogramme the appliance as before. If the message stays, switch off the appliance and let it cool down.

A. Energetic efficiency
The plate starts heating as soon as you have put an adequate pot or pan on the plate and stops heating as soon as you remove it. The thermal efficiency reaches 95%.

B. Safety feature and environment-friendly operation
The cooking plate switches off automatically if it detects an abnormal temperature rise of the pan or electric fluctuations.
The heating surface of the plate is made of heat-resistant ceramic. Therefore, the plate has a very good isolation: if food splashes or overflows, this will not damage the plate.
Contrary to gas cooking or other cooking methods, induction cooking, which does not produce flames or smoke, considerably reduces the dangers and risks of accidents that are commonly associated with other cooking methods. This way, the induction cooking plate may be considered environment-friendly.
MAINTENANCE
- Unplug the appliance and let it cool down before cleaning.
- Wipe the appliance with paper towel or a dry cloth.
- Never clean the appliance with abrasive products, as these would damage the housing. Never clean the plastic parts with products containing benzene. Clean them with a dry cloth.
- Never clean the appliance with water. Never immerse it in water or any other liquid.
• Make sure not to scratch the surface of the ceramic plate with cooking utensils. - Clean the plate completely before storing it at a dry place.
- Clean the ventilation openings with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner at low suction power. Never put any objects through these openings.
