What can I blend with the Bomann SM 354 CB?

The appliance is designed for blending, chopping and pureeing soft foods or drinks. Cut food into small pieces (max 1.5 cm) and add a little liquid to facilitate mixing. Do not use ice cubes, nutmeg or hard chocolate.

What is the maximum capacity of the bowl?

The mixing bowl has a maximum capacity of 300 ml for liquids and 500 g for solids. Do not exceed these limits to avoid splashing or overloading.

How to use the pulse mode?

Press the on/off button at intervals to obtain pulses. Release the button to stop the appliance. This mode is ideal for controlling the texture of food.

Can I blend hot foods?

Yes, but the temperature of foods or drinks must not exceed 60°C. Beyond that, you risk damaging the appliance.

How long can I use the appliance continuously?

For soft foods, do not exceed 2 minutes; for hard foods, limit to 1 minute. Then let the appliance cool for at least 3 minutes before using it again.

How to clean the immersion blender?

For a quick clean, fill the bowl with water and run the blender for a few seconds. For a thorough clean, unplug the appliance, clean the motor housing with a damp cloth (never immerse it) and wash the bowl with hot water. Dry thoroughly.

Is the knife dangerous?

Yes, the knife is very sharp. Handle it with care during cleaning and assembly. Keep the appliance out of reach of children.

Can I crush ice with this appliance?

No, the SM 354 CB is not designed for chopping hard foods such as ice cubes, nutmeg or cooking chocolate. This could destroy the knife.

How to install the wall mount?

Make sure there are no electrical cables or pipes in the wall. Drill two holes at the distance indicated on the mount, insert the dowels and fix the mount with the provided screws. Then hang the blender.

What to do if the speed seems too slow?

If the speed is too slow, interrupt the process. Reduce the amount of food or slightly soften solid ingredients before blending again.

General Safety Instructions

Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.

• The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
• When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
• Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the device off. Remove the plug from the socket.

Special Safety Instructions for this Machine

WARNING:

• The blade of the bar mixer is very sharp! It should therefore be handled with extreme caution! Danger of injury!
• Make sure that the motor casing is not wet.
• Do not use the device for food or drink above 60°C.
• The appliance must always be disconnected from the mains if there is no supervision and before cleaning.
• Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualified person and with a cable of the same type.
• Children must not be allowed to use the device without supervision.

WARNING:

• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Children shall not play with the appliance.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

CAUTION:

Do not chop very hard ingredients with this appliance, such as ice cubes, nutmeg or larger pieces of cooking chocolate. The blade can be damaged!

Instructions

• The appliance is designed for the mashing and mixing of food and drinks.
• Chop up large pieces of solid food before mashing (max. ∅ 1.5 cm) and add a little liquid.
• The appliance is designed to process only small quantities of food! Therefore only fill the jug to the maximum stated capacity!

• Liquid foods up to max. 300 ml
• Solid foods up to max. 500 g

• Adjust the capacity to the frothing of the food being mixed. Decrease the quantity if necessary.
• Pay attention to the slowing down of the motor after shutting off.
• Short-time operating: use the device for no longer than 2 minutes with soft foods and no longer than 1 minute with hard foods. Leave the device to cool down for at least 3 minutes before using again.

Preparation

• Take out all the parts carefully out of the packing.
- Clean the device before using it for the first time as described in "Cleaning".

Wall mounting

The bracket is intended for wall mounting. Check the supplied parts.

WARNING:

Ensure that there are no electrical cables or water pipes in the wall where you want to mount the bracket.

1. Measure the distance between the two holes in the bracket and drill two holes into the wall at that distance.
2. Place the dowels into the wall.
3. Fasten the bracket with the screws.
4. Hang the hand mixer onto the bracket.

Using the Appliance

1. Electrical Connection

• Before inserting the plug into the socket. Make sure that the mains voltage to be used matches that of the device. You will find information about this on the rating plate.

• Connect the device to a duly installed protective contact socket.

• Empty the food to be mixed into the blender jug (max. 0.5 litres).

• Submerge the entire blender head in foodstuff or beverage. Keep the appliance upright. In this way you avoid spatter.

• Hold the handle with one hand so that you can press the on/off button at the same time. Hold on to the blender jug with the other hand.
• Press the on/off button.
• You can use the mixer in pulse mode by pressing and releasing the button in intervals.
• The device switches itself off when the button is released.

i NOTE:

Interrupt the process if the maximum speed is too slow. Reduce the quantity of the food being mixed. First break up any solid food.

Cleaning

Preliminary Cleaning

To clean the hand mixer, fill the blender jug with water and operate the hand mixer as described under "Using the appliance".

Thorough cleaning

WARNING:

• Always remove the plug before cleaning.
- Under no circumstances should you immerse the motor housing in water in order to clean it. Otherwise this might result in an electric shock or fire.
- The blade of the bar mixer is very sharp! Danger of injury!

CAUTION:

• Do not use a wire brush or any abrasive items.

• Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.

• Wipe the casing with a damp cloth.

• You may clean the blender jug in a bowl of hot water.
  • Afterwards, dry all the parts well.

Storage

• Clean the appliance as described and allow it to dry.
• Use the previously mounted wall bracket for storage, or hang it up on a suspension eye.
• We recommend that you keep the appliance in the original packaging if it will not be used for long periods.
  • Always store the appliance out of the reach of children in a dry, well ventilated place.
