General Safety Instructions

• Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.
• The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors (except if it is designed to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately. Do not put it in water.
• When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
• Never leave the appliance unsupervised. To protect children from the dangers posed by electrical appliances, make sure that the cable is hanging low and that children do not have access to the appliance.
• Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.
• Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualified person and with a cable of the same type.
• Use only original spare parts.
• Pay careful attention to the following "Special Safety Instructions".

Special Safety Instructions for this Machine

• Use only cold water when filling.
• The water level must be between the MAX. and MIN. marks!
• Switch the machine off before removing it from the base.
• Always ensure that the lid is tightly closed.
• The base and exterior of the machine must not become wet.

First Use of the Machine

Please read these operating instructions carefully and keep them in a safe place. Before using for the first time, boil fresh water at least twice in the appliance. Use only water without any additives or ingredients.

Use

1. Place the machine on a flat surface.

2. Open the kettle by pressing the button on the lid. Then fill in some water. The water level can be read off using the water level indicator on both sides of the kettle. Please do not overfill the kettle.

3. Close the lid.

4. Place the kettle flush on the base.

Electrical Connection

1. Check whether the mains voltage supply that you intend to use is the same as that of the kettle. For information on the voltage supply of the kettle, please see the identification plate on the base.
2. Only connect the machine to a properly installed 230V 50 Hz safety socket.
3. Switch the kettle on with the switch in the handle. The control lamp lights up.
4. The kettle switches off automatically when the water has boiled. Now disconnect the kettle from the mains power supply. Always hold the lid closed when pouring the water out. Beware of scalding!

Cleaning

• Always pull out the plug from the socket before cleaning!
• The exterior of the machine should be cleaned, if necessary, with a slightly damp cloth without additives.
• In order to clean the kettle you can remove the lime filter by pulling the filter upwards. Now you can clear the filter of lime residues under running water.

Decalcification

The frequency of the decalcifying operation depends on the hardness of the water and on how often the appliance is used. Decalcify the appliance every 3 to 4 months.

If the machine switches off before the water boils, it probably needs to be decalcified.

Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available decalcification agent on the basis of citric acid. Only use the quantities stated in the instructions.

This appliance conforms with the CE directives for radio interference suppression and low-voltage safety and has been built to meet current safety requirements.

Guarantee

We undertake to guarantee the appliance sold by our company for 24 months as of the date of purchase (cash receipt).

During the life of the warranty we shall provide for the repair or replacement of the appliance owing to material or manufacturing defects absolutely free of charge.

Proof for the warranty is provided by the purchase document. The replacement and repair will not be performed free of charge without this proof of purchase.

Should the warranty be valid, please consign the complete appliance in its original packing together with the cash receipt to your local dealer.

You are not entitled to the replacement of the appliance owing to broken glass parts and faulty accessories. However, said parts will be replaced free of charge. In this case only the faulty accessory needs to be ordered without sending back the whole appliance!

The cleaning, servicing and replacement of wear parts are not covered by this warranty and hence are to be paid for.

The warranty is terminated in case of handling on the part of Third parties.

After the warranty

Once the warranty has expired, repairs can be carried out by specialized technicians or repair services against the payment of the service.
