Frequently Asked Questions - BackPack RAR1BP Ruark Audio

How do I install the BackPack on my R1 radio?
First remove the plastic tab to activate the BackPack. If the power adapter is plugged into the radio, unplug it. Slide the BackPack over the antenna (R1) and insert the BackPack connector into the socket provided (14VDC 1.5A). Then fix the BackPack using the two screws provided, tightening them moderately with the hex key. Finally, plug the power adapter into the DC socket of the BackPack.
How long does it take to fully charge the BackPack?
Charging time can be up to 5 hours. During charging, the yellow LED flashes slowly. It turns off when charging is complete. You can use the radio normally while charging.
What does the yellow LED flashing quickly mean?
A fast flashing of the yellow LED (about 4 times per second) indicates an error. In this case, please contact your dealer for assistance.
Can I use my R1 or MR1 radio while the BackPack is charging?
Yes, absolutely. The BackPack charges as soon as the power adapter is plugged in, and you can use the radio normally during charging. The yellow LED will flash to indicate that charging is in progress.
How can I optimize the battery life of the BackPack?
To maximize battery life, always turn the BackPack off when you are not listening to the radio. Do not leave the radio in standby without turning off the BackPack, as this consumes battery power. If you are not using the BackPack for an extended period, ensure it remains charged to preserve its performance.
What should I do if the red LED flashes?
The red LED flashes when the batteries are very low. The radio power will then be automatically cut off. The red LED continues to flash until you set the switch to OFF. Then recharge the BackPack.
Is the BackPack compatible with other devices besides the R1 and MR1?
The BackPack has been designed specifically for Ruark R1 radios and MR1 Bluetooth speakers. It is not guaranteed to work with other devices, even if the plug is compatible. Use it only with the indicated models.
How should I clean the BackPack?
Use a slightly damp lint-free cloth. Do not use sprays, waxes, or abrasive products that could damage the finish or impair performance. Avoid letting moisture enter the device.
What if the BackPack does not charge?
First, check that the power adapter is correctly plugged into a power outlet and into the BackPack. Ensure the plastic tab has been removed. If the yellow LED flashes quickly (error), contact your dealer. If nothing happens, the adapter or BackPack may be defective; please consult the warranty.
What is the warranty period for the BackPack?
Ruark Audio warrants this product against defects for two years from the date of purchase, provided it has been used and maintained in accordance with the instructions. Accidental damage, excessive wear, negligence, or unauthorized modifications void the warranty. For purchases outside the UK, contact your local distributor.
