G Operating Instructions Thank you for choosing a Thomson product. Take your time and read the following instructions and information completely. Please keep these instructions in a safe place for future reference. If you sell the device, please pass these operating instructions on to the new owner.
1. Explanation of Warning Symbols and Notes
Risk of electric shock This symbol indicates product parts energized with a dangerous voltage of sucient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock. Warning This symbol is used to indicate safety instructions or to draw your attention to specic hazards and risks. Note This symbol is used to indicate additional information or important notes.

- The product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
- Use the product for its intended purpose only.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
- Do not use the product in areas where the use of electronic devices is not permitted.
- Lay all cables so that they do not pose a tripping hazard.
- Do not bend or crush the cable.
- Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
- Dispose of packaging material immediately according to locally applicable regulations.
- Do not modify the product in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
- The batteries and charging station included in the delivery go together and should always be used in combination.
- The product is intended for indoor use only.
- Protect the product from dirt, moisture and overheating, and only use it in a dry environment.
- Use the item only in moderate climatic conditions.
- Keep this product, as al l electrical products, out of the reach of children!
- Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in the specications.
- Do not use the product in moist environments and avoid splashes.
- Do not place any objects on the device and never use it to keep things on. Risk of electric shock
- Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.
- Do not use the product if the AC adapter, the adapter cable or the mains cable are damaged.
- Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself. Leave any and all service work to qualied experts. Warning – Batteries
- When inserting batteries, note the correct polarity (+ and - markings) and insert the batteries accordingly. Failure to do so could result in the batteries leaking or exploding.
- Only use batteries (or rechargeable batteries) that match the specied type.
- Before you insert the batteries, clean the battery contacts and the polar contacts.
- Do not allow children to change batteries without supervision.
- Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of a different type or make.
- Remove the batteries from products that are not being used for an extended period (unless these are being kept ready for an emergency).
- Do not short-circuit batteries.
- Do not charge batteries.
- Do not throw batteries in a re.
- Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
- Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow them to enter the environment. They can contain toxic, environmentally harmful heavy metals.
- Immediately remove and dispose of dead batteries from the product.
- Avoid storing, charging or using the device in extreme temperatures and extremely low atmospheric pressure (for example, at high altitudes). Warning – High volumes
- High sound pressure level!
- There is a risk of hearing damage.
- To prevent hearing loss, avoid listening at high volume levels for long periods.
- Always keep the volume at a reasonable level. Loud volumes, even over short periods, can cause hearing loss.
- Using this product limits your perception of ambient noise. For this reason, do not operate any vehicles or machines while using this product.

6. Installing the transmitter/charging station, Fig. 3
- Only operate the product from a socket that has been approved for the device. The socket must be installed close to the product and must be easily accessible.
- Disconnect the product from the power supply using the On/Off switch – if this is not available, unplug the power cord from the socket.
- If using a multi-socket power strip, make sure that the total power consumption of all connected devices does not exceed the power strip's maximum throughput rating.
- If you will not be using the product for a prolonged period, disconnect it from mains power.
- Connect the power supply to the power socket on the rear side of the transmitter.
- Connect the power supply to a mains socket.
- Connect the RCA plugs of the audio adapter cable to the RCA sockets on the rear side of the transmitter. Connect the other end (jack plug) to the headphone jack of your audio source (television, hi- system, DVD player, MP3 player, etc.).
- The red LED (2) lights up.
7. Installing the receiver/headphones, Fig. 2
- Carefully pull off the earpad on the right-hand side.
- Insert the two batteries supplied, making sure you observe correct polarity.
- Reinsert the earpad until it audibly clicks into place.
- Switch on the audio source connected to the transmitter (TV or audio player).
- Switch on the headphones by pressing the Power button (3). The LED (7) of the headphones lights up green. Make sure that the red LED (2) is lit. This conrms that the rechargeable batteries are charged.
- Put the headphones on and set the volume to the desired level.
- Before using the headphones for the rst time, make sure that the battery is fully charged. Charge the battery for at least 24 hours before the rst use.
- Switch off the headphones if they are not being used and put them back onto the transmitter’s charging contacts. Note
- If you cannot get an optimum signal frequency, press the Auto-Tune button (5) on the headphones.
- If you cannot get an adequate frequency, change the frequency channel on the rear side of the transmitter. Then conrm the corresponding channel on the headphones by pressing the Auto-Tune button.
- To get the best sound experience with your headphones, you should set the volume of the sound source (TV, stereo system, etc.) as high as possible and reduce the volume on the headphones themselves. The transmitter will automatically switch off if it receives no audio signal for approximately 2 minutes, or if the signal from the audio source is too weak for awless reception. As soon as the signal strength is sucient, the transmitter will automatically switch back on. The headphones do not switch off automatically.
- Switch off the headphones.
- Place the headphones in the charging station as shown, and make sure that the charging contacts of both devices properly touch each other.
- The green LED (1) lights up. Charging begins automatically. Note
- To prevent damage to the batteries, always switch off the headphones when they are not in use.
- Before using the product for the rst time, the batteries should be fully charged. To guarantee an acceptable charge, the batteries should initially be charged for 24 hours. Subsequent charging cycles then last approximately 10 hours.
- The batteries will not be charged if the transmitter is off.
- Check that the power supply plug is fully inserted into the mains socket and the other end is properly connected to the power supply socket on the transmitter.
- Make sure that the headphones are on.
- The battery in the headphones may have insucient remaining charge. Charge the battery.
- Check that your TV, hi- system or audio source is switched on and a channel is correctly congured to send an audio signal.
- Increase the volume using the control on the headphones.
- The connected audio/video device may not be in playback mode. Please start the playback.
- The output volume of the audio source may be too low. Adjust the volume accordingly.
- The battery in the headphones may have insucient remaining charge. Charge the battery.
- Increase the volume using the control on the headphones.
- The distance between the headphones and the transmitter may be too great. Move the two devices closer together and turn the headphones in the direction of the transmitter.
- The input level of the audio signal may be too low. Increase the volume of the audio source.
11. Care and Maintenance
Note Disconnect the device from the power supply before cleaning it or if it is not going to be used for a long period of time. Only clean this product with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
