How to use the tea infuser?
Replace the lid with the infuser. Open it by turning counterclockwise, add tea, close and immerse in water after reaching the desired temperature. Use the plunger to control steeping time.

How to clean the kettle?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth. Rinse the interior with clean water. Never use abrasive products or a metal brush. Never immerse the base in water.

Check that the mains plug is connected. If the appliance still does not work, contact Trebs customer service. Do not attempt to repair it yourself.
How to descale the kettle?
Use a descaling product based on citric acid (not vinegar). Follow the indicated quantities. After descaling, boil fresh water 3 to 4 times to remove residues. Do not drink this water.
Can I heat liquids other than water?
No, the appliance is designed only to heat water. Do not use milk or other liquids, as this could damage the appliance and pose a burn risk.
Is the keep warm function automatic?
After selecting a temperature (70, 80 or 90°C), press the keep warm button, then the On/Off button. The function remains active even if you remove the kettle from the base for up to one minute.
How to adjust the temperature?
Press one of the temperature buttons (70, 80, 90 or 100°C). The light flashes during heating. When the temperature is reached, two beeps sound and the light stays on until you remove the kettle.
What is the maximum capacity with the infuser?
With the tea infuser, do not fill more than 1.2 liters (TeaMax mark). Respect this limit to avoid overflow.

2 Safety

This chapter provides you with important safety noces when handling the device. The device corresponds with the required safety regulaons. Improper use can result in personal or property damages.

2.1 Intended use

This device is only intended for use in households in enclosed spaces for boiling water and making tea

2.2 General Safety informaon

Please observe the following general safety noces with regard to the safe handling of the device.

  • Examine the device for any visible external damages prior to using it. Never put a damaged device into operaon.
  • If the conncon lead is damaged, you will need to have a new conncon lead installed by an authorized electrician.
  • The appliance is not to be used by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instrucon concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety; children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instrucon concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
  • Do not leave the device unsupervised when it is in operaon.

2.3 Danger of burns

- The heated water in the water kele and the glass of the jug can get very hot.

Observe the following safety instrucons and be careful not to burn or scald yourself or others:

  • When the water is heated, the interior of the jug gets very hot!
    • Always check the temperature of the water or the tea, before drinking it.
  • When you are boiling the water, keep the lid closed.

2.4 Dangers due to electrical power

DANGER

• Mortal danger due to electrical power

Mortal danger exists when coming into contact with live wires or subassemblies! Observe the following safety noces to avoid dangers due to electrical power:

  • If the conncon lead is damaged, you will need to have a special conncon lead installed by an authorized electrician.
  • Do not operate this device if its power cable or plug is damaged, if it does not work properly or if it is damaged or has been dropped. If the power cable is damaged, it will need to be replaced by the manufacturer or his service agency or a similar qualified person, to avoid any dangers.
  • Do not open the housing on the device under any circumstances. There is a danger of an electrical shock if live conncons are touched and the electrical or mechanical structure is altered. In addition, functional faults on the device can also occur.

3 Commissioning

3.2 Delivery scope and transport inspecon

- Examine the package for its completeness and for any visible damages.

3.3 Unpacking

Unpack your device as follows:

• Take out the device from the box and remove the interior and exterior packaging.
- Clean the appliance thoroughly before the rst use. (see chapter Cleaning and maintenance)

3.4 Disposal of the packaging

The packaging protects the device against damages during transit. The packaging materials are selected in accordance with environmentally compatible and recycling-related points of view and can therefore be recycled.

Returning the packaging back to the material loop saves raw materials and reduces the quanes of accumulated waste. Take any packaging materials that are no longer required to “Green Dot” recycling collecon points for disposal.

PLEASE NOTE

- If possible, keep the original packaging for the device for the duraon of the guarantee period of the device, in order that the device can be re-packaged properly in the event of a guarantee claim.

3.5 Setup locaon requirements:

  • In order to ensure the safe and trouble-free operaon of the device, the setup locaon must full the following prerequisites:
  • The device must be set up on a rm, at, horizontal surface with sucient load-bearing capacity.
  • Choose the setup locaon in such a way that children cannot reach the device.
  • The device is not intended to be installed in a wall or a built-in cupboard.
  • Do not set up the device in a hot, wet or extremely damp environment or near ammable material. The electrical socket must be easily accessible so that the power lead can be disconnected easily, in the case of an emergency.
  • The installaon and assembly of this device in non-staordinary setup locaons (e.g. on ships) must be carried out by specialist companies / electricians, provided they guarantee the prerequisites for the safe use of this device.

3.6 Electrical conncon

In order to ensure the safe and trouble-free operaon of the device, the following instrucons must be observed for the electrical conncon:

  • Before connecng the device, compare the connecn data (voltage and frequency) on the rang plate with those of your electrical network. This data must agree in order that no damages occur in the device If in doubt, ask your qualified electrician.
  • The electrical outlet must be protected by a 16A safety cut-out switch.
  • The conncon between the device and the electrical network may employ a 3 meter long (max.) extension cable with a cross-secon of 1.5 mm ^2 . The use of mulple plugs or gangs is prohibited because of the danger of re that is involved with this.
  • Make sure that the power cable is undamaged and has not been installed under the 2 in 1 tea maker and water kele or over hot or sharp surfaces.
  • The electrical safety of the device is only guaranteed if the device is connected to a properly installed protective conductor system. Operaons using an electrical outlet without a protective conductor are prohibited. If in doubt, have the house installaon checked over by a qualified electrician. The manufacturer cannot be made responsible for damages that are caused by a missing or damaged protective conductor.

5 Operaon and Handing

This chapter provides you with important noces with regard to operang the device. Observe the following noces to avoid dangers and damages:

  • When connecng to the outlet a buzzer sounds twice.
  • As soon as you take the kele from the base, a buzzer will sound. The appliance returns to standby mode.
    • Using the funcon buons, you can select the opmum water temperature of your drink.
  • You can heat up water to the following specific temperatures: 70°C, 80°C, 90°C and 100°C.
  • Using an additional funcon, you can keep the temperature of the water hot at 70^ C, 80^ C, 90^ C.
  • You can use the tea infuser to prepare tea in your kele.

5.1 Preparaon

Before using for the rst me, boil fresh water at least three mes in the appliance. Use only water without any additives or ingredients.

PLEASE NOTE

• Always use fresh water.

5.2 Operaon

  1. Place the machine on a at surface.
  2. Opening the Lid. Press the (2) buon. The opener springs open. You can remove the lid by pulling upwards.
  3. Then fill in the water (max. 1.7 Liter). You can read the lling level on the water level indicator of the kele.
  4. In order to close the lid, press the (2) buon. The lid must audibly lock into place.
  5. Place the kele lush on the base.

5.3 Operaon

  1. Select a temperature using the buons 6 to 10.
  2. Press the buon. The light on the buon will light up.

PLEASE NOTE

• The light on the temperature buon ashes whilst the water heats up.
- If the temperature has been reached, you hear two buzzers.
• The light on the buon turns of.
- The light on the temperature buon lights up unl you take the jug from the base.

5.4 Keep warm funcon

  • You can keep the water hot for half an hour at the following temperatures: 70°C, 80°C
  • and 90^ C .
    • To do this, press the 🎩 buon aer you have selected a temperature.
    • The light on the buon lights up.
  • Then press the On/O buon
  • The keep warm will remain acve, even if you take the jug from the base for up to a minute.
  • The keep warm funcon cannot be used for 100 °C.

5.5 Quick start:

  • Press the buon aer pung the jug onto boil.
    • The water will be heated to 100^ C.

5.6 Ending/Terminang operaon

• There are three opons for ending/terminang the boiling process:
- The appliance will switch o aer the boiling process.
- You can press the ⏻buon again in order to end the boiling process.
• Take the jug from the base. The light on the buon will go out.

WARNING

  • Danger of scalding
  • When pouring the water out, keep the lid closed.
  • During operaon the housing becomes hot. Do not touch it and allow the device to cool down before storing it away.
  • Remove the mains plug.
    • Emptying the water container.

5.7 Tea strainer

You can replace the lid of the kele with the tea strainer. See the illustraon.

In order to open the strainer, rotate it slightly in an anclockwise direcon.

Add the tea and close the strainer again.

Put the tea strainer on instead of the lid.

Use the plunger to determine when and for how long the tea is supposed to brew.

CAUTION

  • Bring maximal 1.2 liters (TeaMax) of water to the boil.
  • The tea strainer should only be immersed in water if the desired temperature has been reached.
    • The tea strainer will connue to drip!

Using the temperature indicators you can heat the water to the perfect temperature for the kind of tea you like. There are many types of teas and they vary not only in taste, but in proper preparaon. Some teas taste wonderful steeped in just-boiled water while other teas such as the delicate green and whites, are more temperature sensitive and oer the best aroma and taste when steeped in lower temperature water. Ideal steeping temperatures vary based on the type of tea.

You can use the table below to make an esmaon for the ideal temperature and me the tea needs to steep.

6 Cleaning and Maintenance

This chapter provides you with important noces with regard to cleaning and maintaining the device. Please observe the noces to prevent damages due to cleaning the device incorrectly and to ensure trouble-free operaon.

6.1 Cleaning

Always turn the device o before cleaning it and remove the mains plug. Wait unl the device has cooled down.

Never immerse the device or the base in water or other liquids. This may result in electric shock or ire.

CAUTION

  • Do not use any wire brush or other abrasive objects.
  • Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.

  • Clean the perforated area in the spout with a nylon brush from the inside.

  • Rinse out the water jug and the tea strainer with clear water. Dry everything with a cloth.
  • Clean the housing aer use with a slightly damp cloth.

6.2 Decalcicaon

  • The frequency of the decalcifying operaon depends on the hardness of the water and on how oen the appliance is used.
  • If the machine switches o before the water boils, it probably needs to be decalcied.
  • Please do not use vinegar but a commercially available decalcicaon agent on the basis of citric acid. Only use the quanes stated in the instrucons.

NOTE

Aer descaling the device boil fresh water in it several mes (approximately 3-4 mes) in order to remove any residues. Do not consume this water.

7 Troubleshoong
