General Safety Instructions
- Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.
- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors (except if it is designed to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately. Do not put it in water.
- When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
- Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you should leave the workplace, always switch the machine off or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead).
- To protect children from the dangers posed by electrical appliances, make sure that the cable is hanging low and that children do not have access to the appliance.
- Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.
- Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualified person and with a cable of the same type.
- Use only original spare parts.
- Pay careful attention to the following "Special Safety Instructions".
Special Safety Instructions
- Fill the water tank only with cold water!
- Never open the lid of the water tank while the coffee is percolating. Otherwise this may result in severe burns.
- The warming plate becomes hot! Danger of burning!
Putting the device into operation
- Remove all the packaging and transport protections from the device. Wipe all the parts with a moist cloth to remove all the dust that may have deposited on and in the device during transport.
- Carry out 2 or 3 cycles with cold water only to clean the device before brewing the first cup of coffee.
Electrical connection
- Insert the plug in a duly installed 230V/50Hz protective contact socket. The details can be found on the appliance's nameplate.
- Make sure that the appliance is switched off. (The light in the on/off switch is off.)
Operating
- Pull the lid of the water tank forwards. Fill the machine to the level corresponding to the number of cups required with cold water.
- Close the water tank lid.
- Swing out the filter in the direction of OPEN
- Crease the lower fold of the paper filter (size 1x4) and insert it into the filter funnel. Please ensure that the filter paper does not protrude above the filter funnel. Then fill it with coffee powder (approx. 1 teaspoon for 2 cups).
- Place the pot evenly on the base.
- Press the switch to the "I" position (the LED in the switch lights up).
- Your appliance is provided with a drip stop. By removing the pot, before the water runs through the filter completely, it avoids that the coffee drips on the base. If there is still water in the tank or filter, make sure that the pot is placed back under the filter to avoid overflowing.
- When the coffee stops flowing into the filter, you can remove the pot.
- Switch off the appliance (the LED in the switch is off).
- If you would like to keep the remaining coffee warm, the switch must remain in the "I" position. The hot plate will keep the coffee warm until you switch the machine "O".
Please ensure that you switch the device off as soon as there is no more coffee in the pot.
De-scaling
De-scaling is necessary when the brewing time increases substantially. Use only commercially available citrus acid-based de-scaler. Follow the recommended instructions for use.

- Clean the outside of the appliance, if necessary, with a slightly moist cloth without any detergent.
- Pull the open filter insert upwards out of its retaining device in order to clean it. It can be cleaned in the usual manner in warm soapy water.
