Anleitung
Read these instructions thoroughly first and keep them for future reference. Check that your domestic electricity supply matches that of the appliance. Only connect this appliance to an earthed socket.
The Princess Classic Combi Tower is practical to use thanks to its compact design and single electric cord. Despite this, the coffeemaker and kettle offer all you need.
The coffeemaker with stainless steel pot brews up to 8 cups, features a convenient swing filter with antidrip and has an on/off switch with indicator lamp.
The cordless kettle with stainless steel pot boils up to 2 litres of water in a matter of minutes. The removable coffee pot makes it highly practical. With built-in safety lock in the lid, indicator lamp and complete with thermostat and boil-dry protection.
Set the PRINCESS CLASSIC COMBI TOWER on a sturdy, stable table or counter where it cannot be easily knocked over. To improve stability, the stabilising feet should be fully extended.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PRINCESS CLASSIC COMBI TOWER
Coffeemaker:
- Hotplate
- On-off switch
- Coffee pot with locked lid
- Swing filter

- Water reservoir
- Water level increments
Kettle
- On-off switch
- Water level increments
- Lid lock
- Stabiliser feet

When using the coffemaker for the first time, let the water circulate through the PRINCESS -CLASSIC COMBI TOWER without adding any coffee, in order to cleanse the system. Afterwards, rinse the pot and the filter holder.
Fill the reservoir with cold water, swing the filter out (by pulling on the lower right) and add a filter bag (1x2 size) and ground coffee to the filter holder. Place the pot on the hotplate and switch on the coffeemaker. Use two to three full measures of coffee for a full pot of water.
NOTE: After making coffee, wait at least 5 minutes before making another pot, in order to let the appliance cool off.
KEEPING WARM
The coffee stays warm as long as the PRINCESS CLASSIC COMBI TOWER coffeemaker is switched on. The stainless steel pot is not specially insulated to retain heat but stays at the right temperature on the hotplate. This means that the exterior of the pot can get very hot, so it should not be touched when the coffeemaker is in use.

CLEANING
FIRST UNPLUG THE CORD FROM THE SOCKET
Rinse the pot and the filter holder. These parts are not dishwasher-safe. Use a damp cloth to wipe off the outside of the machine.
DESCALING
Regular descending will help prolong the life of the coffeemaker. It is a good idea to descale around once a month. If the local water supply is especially hard, twice a month is recommended. Hard water is more than 20^ DH (a German scale used to measure water hardness). Your water company can tell you the degree of hardness. You should immediately descale when the appliance:
- Makes gurgling noises;
- Takes longer than usual to brew;
- Still has water in the reservoir after brewing.
Nearly all commercially available descaling products are appropriate for use. Check the package to see whether the product is suitable for coffeemakers. Never use any product containing hydrochloric or sulphuric acid. These are not suitable for descaling.
To do so, proceed as follows:
- First allow the appliance to cool down sufficiently.
- Fill the reservoir with cold water.
- Add the amount of descending agent indicated on the package.
- Place a filter paper in the permanent filter, not forgetting to put the pot in place.
- Switch on the appliance.
- Once about 2 cups have flowed through, switch off the appliance and let it stand for a half-hour to allow the descending agent to work.
- Switch on the appliance again. After all of the water with descending agent has flowed through, brew clean water through it three times to rinse away any remaining traces of descending agent.
Note: Let the appliance cool down for about three minutes in between rinse cycles. The warranty does not apply to appliances with calcified build-up.
USING THE KETTLE
The kettle should be used exclusively for boiling water; never use it with other liquids or ingredients. First boil a full pot of water to clean the pot and discard this water.
Always fill the pot between the minimum and maximum level markers. If insufficient water is used, the kettle may switch off, with too much water it may boil over. Always remove the pot when filling it to avoid water dripping into the base.
Switch it on by using the on/off button under the handle. The indicator lamp will be illuminated. Once the water has boiled, the on/off switch returns automatically to the off position.
If desired, the water can be boiled again by pressing the button once more. Always wait for 30 seconds after it has switched off automatically.
If the appliance is accidentally switched on when empty, the boil-dry protection will automatically switch it off. Adding water will then cool the boil-dry protection mechanism enabling you to use the kettle as normal.
Note:
- Do not remove the pot from its base until it has switched off automatically.
- Do not fill the pot higher than the MAX level indicator or boiling water may spray out.

CLEANING
FRIST REMOVE THE PLUG FROM THE SOCKET AND ALLOW THE POT TO COOL.
Use a damp cloth to wipe off the outside of the machine. The base should always be cleaned without water.
DESCALING
Use a descending agent suitable for household appliances, such as coffee machines. Follow the instructions on the packaging. Do not switch the appliance on during descending, but allow it to soak in while still cool. Rinse the pot several times with clean water.
