  1. Read Instructions - All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the appliance is operated.
  2. Retain Instructions - The safety and operating instructions should be retained for future reference.
  3. Heed Warnings - All warnings on the appliance and in the operating instructions should be adhered to.

  5. Setup - The apparatus should only be placed on a stable, flat surface. Do not let the apparatus fall down or expose it to shock.

Setting a safe volume level

If you continually listen to loud music, your hearing gradually adapts to it and gives you the impression that the volume is lower.
What seems normal to you can be already for long time too loud and unhealthy.
- To protect yourself from this, set the volume to a low level.
- Increase the volume slowly.
- Damage to your hearing can be extensive and cannot be reversed.
If you notice a hearing problem, please consult a doctor.

Condensation

  • Condensation may occur when moving the device from a cold to a warm environment. If there is

moisture inside the player, it may not operate properly. Don't turn on the device and wait about one hour for the moisture to evaporate.

Saving energy

If the unit is not used for a long period of time, it should be unplugged from the AC socket.
- If there is no sound in CD mode the unit will switch into standby after about 10 minutes.

Unpacking

  • Take out carefully the unit from the packing. Please keep the packing for further use.
  • Carefully remove possible protection cardboards and slipcovers.

Power Supply

The unit requires DC 5V 1.0A
Plug the supplied adaptor cable into the connector on the back of the unit and the other end into a suitable wall socket.
Make sure that the output power of the wall outlet matches the required power of the adaptor.

  • Adaptor must be plugged in to operate. The unit does not operate on batteries.

Battery Backup Function

Two 1.5V "AAA" batteries (not included) can be installed as a backup option to maintain the time if electrical power fails. In the event of a power outage, the time will not appear on the clock LCD Display, however, the clock will continue to operate and the actual time will be maintained. The clock LCD Display and other functions will resume once electrical power is restored if using the backup battery. The backup batteries should be replaced as needed. Remove the batteries if the unit is not used or stored for long periods of time.

Basic Functions

Switching the Unit On & Off

  1. Power the unit as described above.
  2. The unit is now in standby mode.
  3. To switch the unit on, press the STANDBY/ON button.
  4. To switch the unit off into standby mode, press the STANDBY/ON button once again.

Clock Setting

The clock can only be set while the unit is in standby mode.

  1. While the unit is in standby mode, press and hold the FUNCTION button on the unit or the TIME SET button on the remote control. The time format will be shown.
  2. Select between 12h display and 24h display by pressing the /bouns.
  3. Press the FUNCTION or TIME SET button again. The hours will start flashing.
  4. Set the current hours by pressing the /butions.
  5. Press the FUNCTION or TIME SET button again. The minutes will start flashing.
  6. Set the current minutes by pressing the /burns.
  7. Press the FUNCTION or TIME SET button again to confirm all settings. The time is now set.

Alarm Setting

An alarm can only be set while the unit is in standby mode.

This unit enables you to set 2 separate alarms. You can select to wake to CD, radio or buzzer.

  1. While the unit is in standby mode, press the AL. ON/OFF button on the unit or the AL1 (or AL2) button on the remote control. The symbol (or) will be shown in the display.
  2. Press and hold the AL. ON/OFF button on the unit or the AL1 (or AL2) button on the remote control again. The hours will start flashing.
  3. Set the desired hour by pressing the /buHns.
  4. Press the AL. ON/OFF button or the AL1 (or AL2) button again. The minutes will start flashing.
  5. Set the desired minutes by pressing the /bouns.
  6. Press the AL. ON/OFF button or the AL1 (or AL2) button again to select the wake up mode.
  7. Select between CD, radio ("rAd"), or buzzer ("bb") by pressing the /b#n#s.
  8. Press the AL. ON/OFF button or the AL1 (or AL2) button again to confirm your settings.

Activating/Deactivating an Alarm

  • To activate a previously set alarm, press the AL. ON/OFF button on the unit or the AL1 (or AL2) button on the remote control while the unit is in standby mode. The alarm symbol (or) appears in the display. This alarm will now ring at the previously set time.
  • To deactivate a set alarm, press the the AL. ON/OFF button on the unit or the AL1 (or AL2) button on the remote control while the unit is in standby mode. The alarm symbol (or) will disappear from the display. This alarm is now deactivated and will not ring.

Stopping an Active Alarm

  • When the alarm is sounding, press the STANDBY/ON button to turn it off. The alarm will come on again on the next day at the set time.

Snoopze Function

The snooze function allows you to delay an active alarm for approximately 9 minutes. To do so, press the SNOOZE button once while the alarm is active. The alarm will stop and come on again after 9 minutes.

Radio

  1. Switch the unit on as described previously.
  2. Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly to select "RADIO". The frequency will be shown in the display.
  3. Select a desired radio station by pressing the button repeatedly.
  4. To automatically search for the next available radio station, press and hold for 2 seconds the or button.
  5. For the best FM reception completely unroll the FM wire antenna.

Radio Station Presets

This unit enables you to store up to 20 radio stations.

  1. Tune to a radio station which you would like to store.
  2. Press the MEM button on the unit or the MEMORY button on the remote control. The preset will start flashing (e.g. "P-01").
  3. Select a desired preset place from P-01 - P-20 on which you want to store the current frequency by pressing the button.
  4. Press the MEM button or the MEMORY button again to confirm your setting.
  5. Repeat steps 1 - 4 to store up to 20 frequencies.
  6. To recall a stored frequency, press the MODE button on the unit and then the or button, or the M+ or M- button on the remote control until you reach the desired preset.

Note:

If the unit gets disconnected from the power supply, all stored channels will be lost and will have to be reset.

CD Operation

Playing Discs

  1. Switch the unit on and select the CD mode by pressing the FUNCTION button.
  2. Open the CD door and insert a disc with the printed side facing outward.
  3. Close the CD door. The CD is being read and will start playback automatically.
  4. To temporarily stop the playback (pause), press the PLAY/PAUSE button once. Press the button again to resume playback.
  5. To stop playback, press the STOP button.

Fast Forward / Fast Rewind & Skipping Tracks

  • To jump to the beginning of the currently playing track, press the button once. Press it a second time to skip to the previous track.
  • To skip to the next track, press the button once.
    To fast forward the currently playing track, press and hold the button. Once you reach the desired section of the track, release the button to resume normal playback.
  • To fast rewind the currently playing track, press and hold the button. Once you reach the desired section of the track, release the button to resume normal playback.

Repeat Modes

At any time during playback,

  • press the MODE button on the unit or the PROG/MODE button on the remote control once to

repeat the current track. "REPEAT" will be shown in the display.

  • press the MODE button on the unit or the PROG/MODE button on the remote control twice to repeat all tracks. "REPEAT ALL" will be shown in the display.
  • press the MODE button on the unit or the PROG/MODE button on the remote control repeatedly until all repeat indicators disappear from the display to deactivate the repeat function.

Random Play

  • At any time during playback, press the MODE button on the unit or the PROG/MODE button on the remote control repeatedly until "RDM" will be shown in the display.
  • All tracks will now be played in random order.
  • Press the MODE button on the unit or the PROG/MODE button on the remote control repeatedly until all indicators disappear from the display to deactivate the random function.

Programming Track Order

You can store up to 20 tracks in a desired sequence.

  1. While in CD stop mode, press the MEM button on the unit or the PROG/MODE button on the remote control. "PGM" will be shown and "P01" will be flashing.
  2. Using the /<buttons, select the track to be played first in the sequence.
  3. Press the MEM button or the PROG/MODE button again. "P02" will be shown in the display.
  4. Repeat the steps 2 - 3 to select up to 20 tracks for your sequence.
  5. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start the playback of your sequence.

Note:

After all programmed tracks have been played, the CD player will return to the stop mode. To clear the programmed tracks from the memory, press the STOP button until "PGM" disappears from the display.

Other Functions

Sleep Timer

The sleep function enables you to set a countdown timer after which the unit will turn itself into standby mode automatically.

While listening, press the SLEEP button. "120" and "SLEEP" will be shown in the display.
- Press the SLEEP button repeatedly to select a desired countdown after which the radio will turn itself off automatically.
- You can select 120, 90, 60, 45, 30, 15 or 5 minutes.

Headphone Connector

You can connect stereo headphones (not included) to the headphone connector of this unit. When headphones are connected the unit speakers will be deactivated. To listen over the unit speakers again, disconnect the headphones.

AUX Input

You can connect the audio output of an external device such as an MP3 player to this unit to listen to the sound of that device through the amplifier of this music system.

  1. To connect the external device please use a standard stereo audio cable (3.5 mm to 3.5 mm plugs) (not included) to connect the headphone out or audio line out of the external device to the AUX input socket of this unit.
  2. Switch the unit on and select the AUX mode "AU" by pressing the FUNCTION button.
  3. Switch the external device (e.g. MP3 player) on.
  4. Start playback of the external device and adjust the volume control of the main unit to the desired level.
  5. Remember to switch off the unit when you are finished using the external device.
