What audio formats are supported by the AS7000?

The AS7000 reads DSS, DSS Pro, WMA, MP3 and WAV/AIFF formats using ODMS or DSS Player software.

Can I use a transcription pedal with this recorder?

Yes, the RS31 pedal connects via USB and works with ODMS and DSS Player software to control playback.

What is the minimum system configuration for Windows?

On Windows, you need XP SP3 (32-bit), 1 GB RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit), 2 GB free disk space, and Internet Explorer 6.0 or later.

Does the software work on Mac?

Yes, with DSS Player for Mac OS X 10.4.11 to 10.7, PowerPC G3 500 MHz or Intel Core Solo/Duo 1.5 GHz processor, 256 MB RAM.

Can I do speech recognition with the AS7000?

On Windows, yes, using Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10.0 SP1 or later. The Mac version does not support this feature.

How do I connect the E62 headset?

Plug the headset into the headphone (or line/audio output) jack on your computer. Respect the L and R markings for stereo sound.

Can the software send files via FTP?

Yes, the transcription module supports sending via Email and FTP, including Passive and SSL modes (Windows only).

Where can I find online help for the software?

In ODMS (Windows), go to Help > Contents or press F1. On Mac, choose DSS Player Help from the Help menu.

What if my computer does not meet the requirements?

Modified computers or those with multiple operating systems are not supported. Check the Olympus website for update compatibility.

How do I maintain the device?

Clean it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents. For technical support, contact your authorized Olympus professional dealer.

Transcription Module Features

• Plays DSS, DSS Pro, WMA, MP3 and WAV/AIFF audio formats in the background when another application is running, such as a word processor.
• Enables foot switch control of the playback process.
• Transcription can be done by combining the playback sound with the adjustable playback speed, tone control, and noise cancellation. However, it is not possible to playback while setting the playback speed and noise cancellation simultaneously with the Macintosh version.
• Receives dictation files and sends created document files by e-mail or FTP.*
• Expand FTP support to include Passive mode and SSL.*
• Sorts received dictation files by sender, and automatically sends created document files.*
• Manages created document files in association with dictation files.*
• Voice recognition of dictation files is possible with the Dragon Naturally Speaking 10.0 SP1 and later.*

Connecting the E62 Headset

The E62 is a stereo headset. When playing stereo sound, wear the set properly, observing the L and R markings.
