How to turn the Sony NVU93 on and off?
Press the I/ button (power/standby) to turn the device on or off.
How to set a destination by address?
From the main menu, select Navigation > Enter address. Enter the country, city, street and number or intersection, then touch Calculate route.
How to use the Bluetooth function to make calls?
Enable Bluetooth in Phone > Phone settings > Bluetooth signal = On. Pair with your phone, then use Call > Keypad input to dial a number.
What to do if the GPS does not receive a signal?
Make sure you are in an open area (no tunnels, tall buildings). Wait up to 20 minutes for first fix. Check GPS status in More... > GPS status. If the windshield is metallic, use an optional external GPS antenna.
How to update the maps?
Use the Map assistant software provided on the disc. Connect the device to the computer via USB, then copy the map data to a Memory Stick Duo (not supplied).
The screen remains black or is very dark. What to do?
Check that the light sensor (located at the top right) is not obstructed. The screen may darken at high temperature; this is normal. If the problem persists, reset the device with the RESET button.
How to clean the screen and the suction cup?
Use a slightly damp soft lint-free cloth for the suction cup. For the screen, use a cleaning cloth for LCD screens. Never use abrasive products or solvents.
What to do in case of a blown fuse?
Replace the fuse in the cigarette lighter adapter with an identical 2.5 A fuse. If the new fuse blows again, consult your Sony dealer.
Can I use the device without a cigarette lighter?
Yes, you can use the optional AC adapter (XA-AC13) to charge it at home. The built-in battery provides about 2 hours of battery life.
How to reset the device in case of a freeze?
Use a thin object (paperclip) to press the RESET button on the back. Then turn on the device normally. GPS reception may take a few moments after reset.
