Important safety instructions
▪ This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including child-
ren) who are physically or mentally handicapped or have sensory
disabilities, nor is it to be used by persons without sufficient
experience and/or knowledge, unless these persons are supervised
by persons responsible for their safety or unless they have been
instructed how to use the appliance.
▪ Children should not be permitted to use, clean or care for this
appliance without adult supervision.
▪ Children must be supervised at all times to ensure that they do not
play with the appliance.
▪ The appliance should be disconnected from the mains by discon-
necting the mains plug:

⋅ If malfunctions occur during use

Read the operating manual carefully. It contains important informa-
tion about the use, safety and maintenance of the appliance. It should
be kept in a safe place and passed on to further users if appropriate.
The appliance should only be used for the intended purpose and in
accordance with this user manual. Respect these safety instructions
when using the appliance.

▪ The appliance is designed for short-time operation. Pause after
3 minutes’ use to allow the appliance to cool down.
▪ Connect the appliance to an alternating current only, with voltage
in accordance with that shown on the appliance’s type label. The
wire and plug must be dry.
▪ Never disconnect the mains plug from the socket by the cord or

The hand mixer is used to mix, beat and blend soft foods and liquids
and to knead soft dough.
The hand mixer is supplied with two matching pairs of mixing gadgets.
Whisk: for thin liquid foodstuffs (e.g. beverages, sauces, pancake
batter, creamed desserts, whipped cream etc.)
Dough hook: for dough, mashed potato, butter
The hand mixer is equipped with 16 different speed settings.

Switch the appliance on using the on/off switch, the display is
illuminated in blue and 0 is shown. The speed settings are selected by
pressing + and -. If you would like to use a higher speed setting then
it can be increased in steps by pressing +, to prevent the foodstuffs
from spattering too much.
The speed setting selected is shown in the display.
Please clean all parts as described in the ‘cleaning and care’ section
before allowing them to come into contact with foodstuffs.

appliance. Each mixing gadget may only be placed in one of the two

Place the desired foodstuff in a stable receptacle. Ensure that this is
sufficiently large and tall.
Now connect the mains plug to the socket.
Place the mixing gadgets in the foodstuff and switch the appliance on
using the on/off switch.
Select the desired mixing speed setting using + and -.
In order to reduce any food spattering, begin mixing using a lower
speed setting and increase this gradually as required.
Caution: do not place the mixing gadgets too deep in the foodstuff.
No liquid or other substance (e.g. dough) should be allowed to reach
the appliance. If using hot foodstuffs, be careful not to hold the
appliance in the steam to avoid any condensation forming on it. Wipe
any condensation off the housing immediately.
As soon as your foodstuff reaches the desired consistency, and after a
maximum of 3 minutes, power down the appliance using the on/off
switch. Wait until the motor stops spinning and remove the mixing
gadgets from the receptacle. Always remove the mains plug from the
socket before placing the appliance on a suitable surface.
Clean the appliance as soon as possible after use. Do not allow any
foodstuffs to dry on the appliance or mixing gadgets.
The hand mixer is equipped with an additional timer function.
Once you have selected a speed setting and the appliance is running,
the display will show a timer counting down in seconds. This can be
used to see how long the appliance has been in use and how long you
need to blend a particular substance. When you switch the appliance
OFF the timer automatically returns to 00:00.
The appliance will automatically shut down after 60 minutes. If the
appliance has automatically shut down it can be switched back on by

food, then you can press the turbo button. The speed of the mixing
gadget is increased whilst this button is depressed.
Do not keep the turbo button held down for more than three minutes
to prevent the appliance from overheating.12
Cable recoil function
Any length of cable not required can be stowed away using the cable
recoil function. To do so, turn the cable recoil slowly in a clockwise

The mixing gadgets can only be removed when the appliance is

compartment of a dishwasher.
Any remaining food which has dried onto the mixing gadgets can be
soaked in lukewarm soapy water before cleaning.
CAUTION: never clean the appliance or mains cable in the dish-

▪ This product is supplied with a 13 A plug conforming to BS 1363
fitted to the mains lead. If the plug is unsuitable for your socket
outlets or needs to be replaced, please note the following. If the
plug is a non-rewireable one, cut it from the mains lead and imme-
diately dispose of it. Never insert it into a socket outlet as there is a
very great risk of an electric shock.
▪ The replacement of the plug at the mains lead has to be done
according to the following instructions:

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings
identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:
⋅ the wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the
terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black,
⋅ the wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the
terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.

▪ If a 13 A (BS 1363) plug is used it must be fitted with a 3 A fuse
conforming to BS 1362 and be ASTA approved. If any other type of
plug is used, the appliance must be protected by a 5 A fuse either
in the plug or adapter or at the distribution board. If in doubt -
consult a qualified electrician.
▪ Never use the plug without closing the fuse cover.
The appliance complies with European directives 2006/95/EC,
2004/108/EC and 2009/125/EC.
At the end of its life, this product must not be disposed of in normal
household waste but must instead be delivered to a collection point
for recycling electric and electronic appliances.
The materials are recyclable in accordance with their labelling. The
reuse, recycling and or other use of old appliances makes an important
contribution to protecting our environment.
