Frequently Asked Questions - T 51 p BEYERDYNAMIC

How to adjust the T 51 p headphone to my head?
Adjust the snap position on each side of the headband (see figure 1), then adjust the angle of the earpads (figures 2 and 3). Position the headphone centered on your ears for optimal comfort and isolation.
What maximum volume is recommended?
To avoid hearing damage, do not exceed 85 dB (low volume) for 8 hours. Each increase of 3 dB halves the permissible listening time (e.g., 88 dB for 4 hours).
Can I use this headphone on the street?
No, wearing headphones reduces perception of ambient noise, which is dangerous in traffic. It is prohibited by law in many countries.
How to clean the earpad cushions?
Clean them with a soft damp cloth (clean water only). Make sure water does not penetrate the transducers. Do not use cleaning products.
How to replace the earpad cushions?
Carefully remove the old cushion. The new cushion is attached with double-sided adhesive tape: remove the protective film and stick it in place of the old one.
What accessories are included with the headphone?
The T 51 p comes with a 6.35 mm jack adapter, an airplane adapter, and a storage pouch.
Where can I buy spare parts?
Spare parts (cushions ref. 912.603, headband padding ref. 906.875, adapters, pouch) are available from beyerdynamic or authorized dealers.
What to do in case of a technical problem?
Contact beyerdynamic after-sales service by email at service@beyerdynamic.de or an authorized technician. Never open the headphone yourself, as it will void the warranty.
What is the impedance of the headphone?
The nominal impedance is 32 Ω, making it suitable for use with portable devices (smartphones, tablets, MP3 players).
How to dispose of the headphone at end of life?
Do not dispose of it with household waste. Take it to a specialized collection center for electrical and electronic equipment (crossed-out wheelie bin symbol).

Mode d'emploi

Thank you for selecting the T 51 p headphone from beyerdynamic. Please take some time to read carefully through this manual before using the product.

The T 51 p opens up new sound dimensions with its excellent bass and treble reproduction and superior materials.

The new Tesla technology developed by beyerdynamic is now also used in headphones for mobile applications. Whether on your way to work, college or travelling by train or aircraft, the supraaural T 51 p shields ambient noise with its closed design.

The efficient Tesla drivers provide extraordinarily precise and detailed sound.

With their slimline shape marked by simplicity and elegance, the smooth lightness of the T 51 p is also a winner for its appearance. There is no longer anything standing in the way of ultimate music enjoyment on portable devices, wherever you may be.

Safety instructions

Caution:

We would like to point out that listening at high volumes over a long period of time may damage your hearing irreversibly.

Therefore, reduce the volume before putting into operation. Make sure that the set volume is not too high. Rule of thumb: The higher the volume, the shorter the time of listening. According to employer's regulations for safety and health the noise exposure e.g. when working should not exceed 85 dB (low volume). This is an allowed time of listening of 8 hours at maximum. If the volume is increased by 3 dB, the allowed time of listening is halved, i.e. with 88 dB the time of listening is 4 hours, with 91 dB 2 hours and so on.

Danger to life!

Headphones dramatically reduce your ability to hear ambient noise. Using headphones while in road traffic is potentially very dangerous and is therefore prohibited by law. Also, please make sure that you do not use your headphones when in the vicinity of possibly dangerous machines and tools.

Risk of injury!

When wearing wired headphones, avoid any sudden movements. You could seriously injure yourself, especially if you have any piercings or wear earrings or glasses, etc. that can get caught in the wire.

How to adjust the headband

Before wearing the T 51 p for the first time you should adjust it properly to achieve the best sound and ambient noise attenuation.

Please refer to the following tips:

  • Select the appropriate lock-in position on both sides of the headband. See ①.
  • Adjust the angle of the ear pads. See ②and ③.
  • Place the T 51 p centrally on your ears as shown in the middle picture.
