Congratulations on having purchased the Joycare Hair Clipper JC-506 Please, before starting using this appliance, read carefully the following instruction manual.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE

• Before connecting the appliance to the mains, please check if the voltage of your DC socket corresponds to the one stating in the rating label.
• Never use the product in the bathroom or in other wet places.
• In order to avoid electric shocks, it is advisable not to submerge the product into water or into other substances; if the product should accidentally fall into water, NEVER try to reach it and unplug immediately the product.
• NEVER use the appliance if you are in direct contact with water: inside the bath, with water running in the basin or with wet hands.
• High supervision is recommended in case the product should be used by children and invalids.
• Always keep the cable away from heating sources.
• When you store the product, it is advisable not to wind the cord round the appliance.
• Never try to unplug the product pulling it from the cable or from the product itself.
• In case of damages to the cable or to the product, it is necessary to stop immediately using the product and address to authorised centres.
• Never try to repair the product by yourself.
• In order to avoid the product from possible overheating, it is advisable to unwind completely the cable and not to keep the product turned off it is not in use.
• In order to avoid possible risks and damages, never use the product for purposes other than those showing in this instruction manual.
• In case the product does not function properly, stop immediately using it and address to authorised centre.
• In order to avoid possible overheating, it is advisable not to use the product for more than 8 consecutive minutes. After use of 8 minutes, it is advisable to allow the appliance to cool down for 10 minutes and then it is possible to start using it again.

HOW TO SWITCH ON THE HAIR CLIPPER

Before plugging the device, ensure you the switch is in 0. Plug the appliance into a 230-240V socket. Once the Hair Clipper has been switched on, it could result noisy and irregular .This is due to the starting torque of the AC drive .This is not a manufacturing defect. Avoid using the product for more than 8 consecutive minutes. For longer usages, it is necessary to allow the product to cool down for 10minutes.Then it is possible to restart using it. After each usage, always turn the appliance off and then unplug it.

CUTTING LENGTH ADJUSTMENT

The Hair Clipper Joycare is provided with an adjusting lever, necessary to adjust the cutting length –also during its usage- from 2mm to 17mm.

Adjusting lever released= shortest trimming length

Adjusting lever pressed= maximum trimming length

WARNING: when you fit or remove the clip-on comb, the appliance should always be off.

In order to set the cutting length, it is necessary to proceed in the following way:

Push completely the slide knob

Then push the adjusting lever in order to get the chosen cutting length : 2/3/6/9/12/17mm

ISTSTRUCTIONS FOR A CORRECT USE OF THE HAIR CLIPPER

It is important to cut always the hair “against the grain”, that is to say against the direction in which the hair grows.

Clipping without comb attachment

Always comb the hair in the direction of growth before clipping.

Set the cutting length, as described in the section "CUTTING LENGTH ADJUSTMENT"

Hold the clipper so that the flat side of the comb attachment is parallel to your head and move the appliance slowly.

Clipping with comb attachment

The comb attachment can be used in order to obtain hair lengths up to 17 mm.

Before switching the appliance on, always select the cutting length.

Important: always move against the direction of the hair growth.

Place the comb on the neck and move it slowly, cutting small locks.

It is possible to change the length setting, in order to obtain different lengths on different parts of the head, always refer to section “CUTTING LENGTH ADJUSTMENT”

In order to obtain cutting shades, it is possible to use the styling comb too

This particular procedure should be followed in case you want to obtain hair length over 17 mm.

First of all, remove the clip-on comb.

Lift a small hair lock with the styling comb in order to get the preferred length.

Trim the hair over the styling comb.

Go on with such procedure, clipping always against the hair growth direction.

Comb frequently to remove the cut hair and check for unevenly cut sections.

At the side part, continue the transition to the left temple first and then the right one, with the trimmer slightly inclined.

For cutting the hair around the ears, put one edge of the cutter on the skin; make sure the teeth are kept at a safe distance from the ears. Next start again at the back and cut the transition as already described in order to reach the right temple.

In order to cut the fine transition at the start of the neck, press slightly the adjusting lever and guide the trimmer approximately 1-2 cm from the bottom upwards.

Remove the last remaining hair from the neck, moving the adjusting lever of the trimmer completely out.

In order to adjust the power (max 1 minute), turn the screw in a clockwise direction until the arm strikes the coil, making a noise.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Before starting cleaning the appliance, always unplug the appliance.
• Never immerse the appliance in water.
• Clean the unit with a damp and soft cloth.
• After having used the appliance remove the comb and using the cleaning brush clean the body of the device, in order to remove any hair from the cutting blade.
• Never use detergents and solvents to clean the appliance.
• In order to grant a long and good performance to the appliance, it is advisable to oil often the appliance. Unscrew the cutting unit, apply on oil drop and then allow the machine to run for several seconds so that the unit can lubricate properly.
• Fit the protective cap after use; keep the device only with the fitted protective cap.

IMPORTANTWARNINGS

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be changed by manufacturer or by its service agent or by a qualified person in order to avoid an hazard.

If the item is used in bathroom, unplug it after use since the proximity of water presents an hazard even when the item is switched off.

Do not use this appliance in the vicinity of bathtubs, showers, basins or other water-bearing containers.

DISPOSAL

The device (including its removable parts and accessories) must not be disposed of together with municipal waste at the end of its life, but in compliance with European

Directive 2002/96/EC. Since it must be handled separately from household waste, either carry it to a separately-collected waste disposal centre for electrical and electronic appliances or give it back to the retailer on purchasing a new device with the same purpose. Any infringement will be severely prosecuted.

The batteries used in this device must be disposed of in the special bins at the end of their life.

The warranty does not cover damage caused by accidental breakage, transportation, incorrect maintenance or cleaning, misuse, tampering or repairs carried out by non authorised third parties. The following is also excluded: damage caused by incorrect product installation, and damage caused by wear and tear, obviously including parts subject to wear and tear. In order to obtain the replacement/repair of products under warranty in cases other than those mentioned above, but which are instead caused by manufacturing defects, please contact your local importer/distributor. Goods that are not held to be in good condition because of the aforesaid causes must be accompanied by this certificate, duly filled-in, as well as a receipt for the goods (invoices and transport documents) and purchasing documentation. Please keep the original packaging of the product.
