How to use the Joycare JC-114 inhaler?

Fill the reservoir with the prescribed medication, connect the mask or mouthpiece, turn on the device and breathe normally for 10 to 15 minutes.

What is the size of the particles produced?

The device produces particles smaller than 5 µm (MMAD), allowing optimal penetration into the respiratory tract.

How to clean the inhaler after use?

Disassemble the reservoir, mask, and tube. Clean them with warm soapy water, rinse and dry. Do not immerse the motor body.

Can essential oils be used?

No, only use medications prescribed by your doctor. Essential oils can damage the device.

Does the inhaler make noise during use?

The noise level is below 50 dB, which is comparable to a quiet conversation.

What accessories are included?

The device is supplied with an adult mask, a child mask, a mouthpiece, an air tube, a reservoir, and a replacement filter.

How to replace the air filter?

Remove the old filter located at the back of the device and insert a new clean filter. Replace it every 3 to 6 months.

Is there automatic shutdown?

Yes, the device turns off automatically in case of overheating to avoid any risk.

The transducer of this appliance produces a high frequency sound waves (ultrasonic) which activate liquid molecules, so that drug becomes a very fine mist. This device is equipped with a motor fan which blows the mist up the mouth/nose of the user.

Aerosoltherapy is a very good treatment for general pulmonary disorders, such as: tracheitis, asthma, bronchitis, lung diseases, sinusitis... etc. You should follow your physician's instructions to use the correct drug and to decide the therapy period.

SAFETYINSTRUCTIONS

This is a medical device for home use and therefore it must be used under medical prescription. It must be used according to the instructions shown in this manual and it is important that users read and understand the information relating to use and maintenance of the appliance.

This device has been conceived exclusively for domestic aerosoltherapy treatment. It must be used for nebulizing medicines such as antibiotics and brochodilators.

All other purposes must be consider improper.

As for every electrical appliance, the user must take a number of basic safety precautions to avoid danger for persons and/or things.

Before connecting the appliance, check that the voltage shown on the rating label of the product corresponds to the local mains voltage.

Before using the appliance, please check that the unit is in perfect conditions, without damages.

Always unplug the appliance when the product is not in use, before it and whenever a disturbance occurs.

Never try to unplug the product pulling it from the cable or from the product itself but pull always from the plug.

Do not use extensions. Keep the power cable away from hot surfaces.

Children and invalids must only use the appliance under the supervision of an adult who has read and understood this manual.

The unit is provided with small accessories that children might easily swallow; consequently it is advisable to store the unit of their reach.

Use the appliance only for purposes stated in this IM; use only original accessories provided with the product. Do not use the appliance if the power cable and/or the plug have been damaged, in case of troubles to the correct functioning or if the unit has fallen into water. In those cases, please address to specialised centres.

Store always the device and the cable away from heat, direct sunlight, moisture, sharp objects and similar ones. Do not insert object into any openings. Do not block air inlets.

In order to protect children from risks of accidents, never leave the appliance unattended. Always store it out of their reach.

The unit is for domestic use only.

Appliance not protected against penetration of liquids. Do not handle the power cable with wet hands and do not use the appliance while you are in the bath or under the shower.

Do not soak the appliance in water and in case the appliance becomes moist or we please unplug it immediately from the socket.

DO NOT TRY TO REACH THE PRODUCT INTO WATER!

Always unplug the unit after every usage.

Don't move your eyes close to the hole of vapour leakage.

Don't put the appliance under the tap to fill the water tank.

Two persons should never use in the same time the appliance and they should never exchange accessories (medicine cups included). In the presence of pathologies with risk of microbial infection and/or contamination, it is recommended a personal use of accessories and of nebulizer cups (always consult our own doctor).

In case of anomalous situations, for example: drug's colour mutation, drug-holder, medicine cup softening and/or damage, don't carry out the applied always apply to a specialized centre.

Don't try to repair alone the appliance. In case of failure apply to a specialized centi Don't tamper with or touch the transducer.

In case of bad working or substitution of defective or weary components, always apply to a specialized centre.

Before using the appliance, please read the medicine instructions, in order to check if this particular medicine can be nebulized using this kind of nebulizer.

Appliance not suitable for in the presence of anaesthetic mixtures inflammable when in contact with air, oxygen or nitrous oxide.

The appliance cannot be used in anaesthetic breathing systems or lung ventilator breathing systems.

The correct unit functioning may be adversely affected by electromagnetic interferences exceeding the levels stated by the actual European norms EN60601-1-2.

Please place the device on a flat surface.

The reservoir capacity without the medicine cup is 10cc at most, for drug directly; the volume of reservoir with medicine cup is 5\~6cc for water only and the medicine cup volume is 10 cc for drug.

IMPORTANT NOTE: never fill the reservoir with the saline solution and water with some chemical elements

Nebulisationwithoutmedicinecup:

pour the drug directly into the reservoir, then put further the entire upper cover back on the main body.

Nebulisationwithmedicinecup:

1) Pour 5\~6cc pure water into the reservoir (using the medicine cup)
2) Put the medicine cup into the reservoir
3) Pour the drug into the medicine cup
4) Put the entire upper cover back on the main body carefully

NOTE: do not pour the drug or water into the vent of main body.

INSTRUCTIONSFORACORRECTUSEOFTHEPRODUCT

The Joycare Ultrasonic Nebuliser JC-114 can be use in two different ways: that is to say with or without the medicine cup.

Because the device is not sterile, before using go on with cleaning and disinfection operations indicated in the specific paragraph. Dosage indication and use limitations provided by disinfectant producer.

Nebulisationwithoutthemedicinecup

1. Take the upper cover away
2. Pour 10cc of drug at most, direct to the reservoir
3. Never place the reservoir under the faucet for water filling
4. Once the reservoir has been filled, put the upper cover back on the main body carefully and insert the accessory you want to use (tube, mask, mouthpiece and nasal fork).
5. Plug in the adapter and then connect it with the main power source.
6. Switch the appliance on and start the treatment. Be sure that the LED is on. The blue light indicates a high intensity nebulisation, that is 13 ± 2 minutes; a the yellow light, indicates a lower intensity nebulisation, that is 26 ± 2 minutes at most. Once the drug has ended, the appliance turns itself off automatically. Before going on with therapy, to verify the correct assembly of each component, turn on the appliance and control that the nebulized drug goes out under the shape of vapour, only from the openings of the inserted accessory. Thereby you can go on with therapy.
7. While you are using the appliance never hold per its! Never remove the main unit.
8. When the nebulisation stops, this would mean the treatment has ended. Now you can unplug the appliance and start cleaning the unit.

1. Take the cover away

4. Put the medication cup into the reservoir. Fill the cup with 10cc drug max. After having checked the medication cup is in the correct position, put the upper cover back on the main unit and insert the accessory you want to use (tube, mask, mouthpiece and nasal fork).

NOTE: the nebulisation rate, using the medication cup, is half of the one obtained not using it – of course using the same nebulising intensitate. When the nebulisation stops means the treatment has ended. Please unplug the appliance and start cleaning the unit.

1. While you are using the appliance never hold or slope it. Never remove the main unit.

In case of appliance working without nebulization, verify the presence of the medicinal, make sure that accessories, medicine cup and connection tube are correctly inserted and that possible impurities (dry medicinal, dust or other residues) don't obstruct airtage.

2. Install them to the main unit

3. Insert the mouthpiece (figura C/b) and put the other side into your month. Start the treatment.
4. In addition it is possible to use the appliance in a more simple way, as shown in image C/c.

In order to change the nebulisation rate, just press the power switch.

1. If you should fill uncomfortable during treatment, please stop immediately.

CLEANING

Before cleaning the appliance, always plug out.

After each use always clean accurately all the accessories to remove every possible residues of medicinal. Wash carefully each used component under running warm water. If necessary add a little amount of not aggressive cleansing solution. Rinse abundantly, drain any water and dry thoroughly into a clean ambient. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the body, the cover and the tank clean. Drain any water and dry thoroughly into a clean ambient. Don't use soap or powder that can damage the surface. To avoid infections or chemical reactions, don't use twice the same drug-holder medicine cup.

NEVER WASH THE BODY UNDER RUNNING WATER.

Disinfect every day the product how it is explained underneath.

Wash used accessories with chemical disinfectant, easily searchable at a drugstore and suitable to plastic material.

To correctly dose the disinfectant read the instiort shown on the disinfectant itself. Rinse carefully under running water and dry.

Maintenance activities other than cleaning and parts disinfection can be carried out only by staff authorized by Life Tool Technologies S.p.A.

ACCESSORIES

Supplied accessories have been studied and experimented to cure high and low respiratory tracts. They are made of non-toxic material and show an elevated chemical strength.

Every accessories and reusable part have a 4 years medium lifetime, except in the case of damage or user carelessness.

WHENTHEAPPLIANCEISOUTOFORDER

In case the appliance does not function properly, please check the following points:

• Check if the water level corresponds to 5cc
• Check if the medication cup is deformed
• Check if the medication cup is broken or has been improperly installed
• Check if the vent is blocked
• Check if the adaptor has not plugged in properly
  If the above-mentioned are not the cases, please contact a specialised centre.

IMPORTANT: never use adaptors other than phone supplied together with the appliance.

In case of improper functioning, never try to repair by yourself but you must address to a specialised centre.

Ultrasonic nebulizers are not suitable to be used with highly viscous medicaments (particles having diameter higher than 6 µ m), so please read carefully indications on medicament packaging. It's advisable to dilute medicament with physiological solution and not use medicine cups, that is to say, to put medicament into product tank as described in "Nebulisation without the medicine cup" section. For a better use of your ultrasonic nebulizer it's recommended to check these particular indications on medicament packaging too and/or ask for additional information to your physician and/or pharmacist.

DISPOSAL

The device (including its removable parts and accessories) must not be disposed of together with municipal waste at the end of its life, but in compliance with European Directive 2002/96/EC. Since it must be handled separately from household waste, either carry it to a separately-collected waste disposal centre for electrical and electronic appliances or give it back to the retailer on purchasing a new device with the same purpose. Any infringement will be prosecuted.
