USER MANUAL JC-237 Joycare

ASSEMBLAGGIO DEL PRODOTTO

All the components of the breast pump (the feeding bottle, the teat, the silicone massage cup, the membrane valve and the breast pump cup) must be cleaned and sterilized with normal sterilizing equipment.

Clean the electric components of the product with a damp cloth. Never submerge the mechanism in water.

Never use and switch on the product without the feeding bottle attached.

Never use the product in direct proximity to water. It could fall in the water and be damaged or cause short circuit.

Do not use the product when you are in the bath or shower.

Do not try to open or repair the product yourself. This will forfeit the warranty. Always refer to an authorized assistance centre.

Do not use the product lying down. The product should (preferably) be used when properly seated. Always consult your doctor if you feel pain when using the product or if use of the product is uncomfortable or causes discomfort.

If the product is used by another person, always make sure it is fully sterilized with care.

The product must be used either with the power supply or with the batteries, and never both at the same time. If, therefore, you decide to use the power supply, make sure you remove the batteries beforehand (to avoid overheating).

PRODUCT ASSEMBLY

Make sure the silicone massage cup adheres perfectly on the breast pump cup

Press and screw the breast pump cup firmly into the main part (the electrical mechanism)

Fasten the membrane valve in the connector

Screw the feeding bottle in the breast pump cup

Insert the power supply jack in the respective input

Plug the power supply into a socket (AC 100-240V - 50/60Hz)

REPLACING THE BATTERIES

Remove the cover.

Insert 2 new AA (1.5V) batteries observing proper polarity.

Remove and replace dead batteries.

Remove the batteries should the product be inactive for a long period of time.

USING THE APPLIANCE

Sterilize all the parts of the product (as instructed above) and assemble all the parts of the product (as instructed above).

Before extracting milk: wash hands and breast carefully. Sit comfortably with your bust inclined slightly forward. Massage the breast gently or use a hot damp towel, applying gentle pressure on the breast, to help extract the milk during the next step.

Turn the suction command dial to MIN.

Position and press the silicone massage cup on the breast, making sure the teat is inserted well inside and the cup is airtight.

Turn on the product. The suction simulates that of a baby's mouth.

Turn the command dial as necessary.

Turn off the product when the milk is extracted, and remove the suction cup from your breast. If you wish to carry out the extraction process twice, each process must not exceed 10 minutes.

If the product does not extract any milk within the first 5 minutes of use, please repeat the process again from the start.

When you have finished with the product, turn it off or take the plug out of the socket (if powered from the mains). With the battery performance of the product are slightly lower.

Maternal milk can be kept in the fridge, in the freezer or in the feeding bottle provided.

Once extracted, the milk must be put in the fridge immediately. If kept at ambient temperature, it must be used within 6 hours after extraction. Extracted milk can be kept in the fridge for 24 hours or in the freezer for 3 months.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE

Do not use the appliance for purposes different from those described in this instruction manual, any other use is deemed improper and hence dangerous.

Check that the appliance voltage requirement on the data plate corresponds to the electric power source before plugging in.

Always unplug appliance in the following cases: when not in use, during cleaning operations and whenever irregular operation is detected. Always unplug appliance by pulling the plug and not the power cord. Never wrap the power cord round the appliance, use the cord storage space placed under the appliance base. Never leave the appliance unguarded in the presence of children to avoid accidents and injuries.

For this reason it is advisable to place the appliance out of the reach of children.

Do not leave the power cord hanging from tables or worktops. Non-dishwasher safe appliance and attachments.

Utmost attention must be paid when the appliance is used in the presence of children.

This appliance is NOT a toy. Do not operate or place the appliance under a towel, blanket or pillow as it could overheat, causing fire and/or electric shock. Never place the appliance on cookers or on other hot surfaces. Always store the appliance away from heat, sunlight, humidity, sharp objects and similar items. Never leave the appliance unattended during operation!

Always unplug when not in use. The electronic parts of the appliance must never be immersed into, or come in contact with, water or other liquids. Do not operate the appliance with moist or wet hands. If the main unit gets wet unplug immediately. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RECOVER THE APPLIANCE IF IT FALLS INTO THE WATER. Appliance to be exclusively employed for the purpose it was designed for, any other use is deemed improper and hence dangerous. Do not insert any kind of object through the slits present on the appliance. In the case of cord or appliance damage, immediately interrupt operation and call a specialized service centre. Do not tamper with the appliance attempting to fix it or to replace damaged parts. Damaged cords must be replaced immediately. Such operations must be exclusively performed by specialized technicians. Spare parts must be original or perfectly compatible. To avoid appliance overheating unwind the cord completely and switch off when not in use. To avoid the risk of electric shock never open or move the base while the appliance is operating.

IMPORTANT WARNINGS

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
