How do I connect the Intenso Memory Space hard drive to my computer?

Use the provided USB cable. Connect the micro-USB end to the drive and the standard USB end to a USB 3.0 or 2.0 port on your computer. The system will automatically detect the device.

The hard drive is not recognized under Windows, what should I do?

First check the USB connection. Try another port or another cable. Under Windows, open Disk Management to see if it appears. If necessary, format the drive (this will erase all data).

Can I use this hard drive with a computer that only has USB 2.0 ports?

Yes, the drive is backward compatible with USB 2.0. However, the transfer rate will be limited to 480 Mbps. If the drive is not recognized, it may be due to insufficient power: use a powered USB hub.

How do I format the Intenso Memory Space hard drive?

Under Windows: open Disk Management, right-click on the relevant partition, then 'Format'. Under Mac: use Disk Utility. Choose a suitable file system (NTFS for Windows; exFAT for cross-platform). Caution: formatting erases all data.

The LED indicator does not light up, is this normal?

If the LED does not light up when the drive is connected, check the USB connection. If it remains off while the drive is recognized, it may be a hardware defect. The LED blinks during read/write access.

Can I use this hard drive on Mac and Windows without reformatting?

Yes, if the drive is formatted in exFAT or FAT32, it is readable and writable on both systems. By default, it may be in NTFS (Windows only). You can reformat it to exFAT for cross-platform compatibility.

What should I do if I lose data on the hard drive?

Intenso is not responsible for data loss. It is recommended to regularly back up your important files. In case of loss, you can use data recovery software (e.g., Recuva, DMDE), but without guarantee of success.

How do I get an RMA number for a warranty return?

Contact Intenso's after-sales service by email or phone (Hotline). You will receive an RMA number. Send the product with all accessories and the receipt, indicating the RMA on the package, to the following address: INTENSO GMBH [address not provided].

Can I safely move the hard drive while it is running?

No, avoid moving the drive while it is in operation. Shocks or vibrations can damage the read head. Wait until the LED activity is off before unplugging and moving it.

Does the hard drive heat up normally?

A slight warmth is normal during intensive use. If the casing becomes very hot to the touch, check that the ventilation is not blocked. Avoid using it on soft surfaces (bed, sofa).

Installation Instructions

System Requirements:

This hard drive is compatible with the operating systems MS Windows XP / Vista / Windows 7 and Mac OS 10.x.

Please note:

For the USB 3.0 operation an USB 3.0 interface card is needed. The hard disk is downwardly compatible with the previous USB standards.

Your PC's hardware configuration as well as the operating system employed can influence the compatibility of the hard drive.

Power supply under USB 2.0: If your USB 3.0 hard disc is not recognized on your PC with a USB 2.0 connection, this could probably be caused by the power supply. In this case, please connect an USB hub with an external power supply.

Hard Drive Connection:

To connect an external hard drive to your computer, please use the USB cable provided. Connect the USB 3.0 plug with the Intenso hard drive and the plug of the USB cable ending with your computer.

The computer automatically detects the "New Device" and installs the driver. Please wait until driver installation is completed. Your computer now shows an additional drive named "Intenso".

As soon as the hard drive is connected to your computer, the LED flashes. The LED flashes, when writing or reading procedure is carried out.
