How to install the UNS1 printer?

Connect the printer to your computer via USB or serial cable. Plug in the power adapter. Install the drivers available on the Gembird website. The printer will be recognized as a printing device.

What type of paper to use?

Use thermal paper rolls 57 mm wide, max outer diameter 50 mm. The paper must be coated for thermal printing.

What to do if the printer does not print?

Check the power supply, connections, and that the paper is correctly inserted. Make sure the status light is on. Reinstall the drivers if necessary.

How to clean the print head?

Turn off the printer and unplug it. Use a cotton swab soaked in isopropyl alcohol to gently clean the print head. Allow to dry before reuse.

The printer has a paper jam, what to do?

Open the cover, carefully remove the jammed paper by pulling in the direction of the feed. Avoid tearing the paper. Close and reinsert the roll correctly.

How to configure network printing?

The UNS1 model does not have a built-in network interface. Use a USB print server or share the printer via a computer connected to the network.

What does the flashing red light mean?

A flashing red light generally indicates a problem: paper jam, open sensor, or excessive temperature. Refer to the manual for the exact code.

How to change the cutter?

The cutter is a wear part. To replace it, open the compartment, unscrew the old cutter and install the new one respecting the direction. Refer to the service manual.

Can I use non-thermal paper rolls?

No, the UNS1 printer is direct thermal. It requires thermal paper. Using other paper may damage the print head.

How to reset the printer?

Turn off the printer, hold down the power button, then turn it on. Release the button after 5 seconds. Factory settings will be restored.
