Intended use

This appliance is intended primarily for non-commercial use in closed rooms for chopping food in normal household quantities. Use in any other way is not considered as intended use.

Safety instructions

Inspect the appliance for visible signs of damage before use. Do not use a damaged appliance.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with restricted physical, sensory or mental capabilities or with insufficient experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or have received instructions on the use of the appliance from such a person.

Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appli- ance.

Store the appliance and accessory ■ parts out of the reach of children.

Do not leave the appliance unattended during operation.

Only allow repairs to the appliance ■ to be carried out by an authorised specialist or by the works customer service; this particularly applies to replacing a damaged connecting cable. Unqualified repairs can lead to considerable danger for the user. They will also invalidate the warranty/guarantee.

Repairs to the appliance during the ■ guarantee period may only be carried out by service centres authorised by the manufacturer as the warranty/guarantee will otherwise be invalidated in the event of damage or subsequent damage.

Defective parts may only be replaced with original spare parts. Only original spare parts guarantee that the safety requirements are met.

Only use spare parts from the manufacturer or spare parts that are specifically recommended by the manufacturer. The warranty/guarantee will otherwise be invalidated.

Do not use this appliance together with an external timer or a separate remote control system.

Do not use the appliance if the mains cable or mains plug is damaged.

Do not open the housing of the appliance. Danger from electric current if live connections are touched and/or the electrical and mechanical configuration is changed.

Never immerse the appliance or the mains plug in water or other liquids.

Pull the plug out of the mains socket, when changing the attachments;

- if you are not using the appliance,

- if a malfunction occurs during operation,

– before you clean the appliance.

WARNING

Do not chop hard ingredients such as ice cubes, coffee beans or nutmugs.

Do not process hot liquids.

Do not operate the appliance without the corresponding lid.

Danger from sharp blades!

Remove the protective cover of the chopper knives carefully.

Do not touch the blades. Always hold the chopping blade by the plastic shaft.

Remove the blades before you ▶ empty the mixing bowl.

Always push food in with the pusher. Never use your fingers.

Danger from moving parts!

Always disconnect the mains plug before assembling, disassembling, cleaning or storing the appliance.

Never insert your fingers or objects into the filling shaft.

ATTENTION

Always switch off the appliance before removing the upper parts.

Only operate the appliance when the upper part is locked and the lid or pusher is in place.

Do not pull the connecting cable ▶ to remove the plug from the mains socket.

Remove any stones from the fruit ▶ before extracting the juice.

ATTENTION

Do not operate the appliance when the mixing bowl is empty.

Always use the stopper for insert-▶ing ingredients into the filling shaft, never use any other objects.

Do not use sharp objects or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the surfaces.

When using for prolonged periods ▶ of time, allow the appliance to cool down occasionally to avoid overheating.

The mixing bowl is not suitable for use in ovens or microwave ovens.

Never lift or move the appliance with the mains cable.

Requirements for the place of use

For safe and trouble-free operation of the appliance, the place of operation must satisfy the following requirements:

■ Place the appliance on a firm, dry, flat, waterproof and heat-resistant surface.
■ Do not install the appliance in a hot, wet or very humid environment.
■ The mains socket must be easily accessible and allow fast disconnection in the event of an emergency.
■ The surface finishes on furniture may contain substances that can be detrimental to the feet of the appliance. If necessary, place a mat under the feet of the appliance.

Electrical connection

For safe and trouble-free operation of the appliance, the following instructions must be observed for the electrical connection:

Before connecting the appliance, ■ compare the connection data (voltage and frequency) on the rating plate with those of your mains power supply. The data must correspond in order to avoid damage to the appliance. If in doubt, ask your electrical appliance retailer.

The mains socket must be protected by at least a 10 A automatic circuit breaker.

Ensure that the mains lead is undamaged and is not laid over sharp edges.

The mains cable must not be pulled ■ tightly, bent or come into contact with hot surfaces.

Route the cable to prevent risk of tripping.

The electrical safety of the appliance is only assured when it is connected to a properly installed protective earth (PE) conductor system. Connection to a mains socket without PE conductor is forbidden. If in doubt, the electrical system must be checked by a qualified electrician. The manufacturer assumes no liability for injury or damage caused by a missing or interrupted protective earth conductor.

Startup

Unpacking

Remove the appliance, all accessory parts and the user manual from the box.

Remove all packaging materials and protective foils from the product and the accessories before using it for the first time.

NOTE

Do not remove the rating plate or any warning signs on the appliance. If possible, keep the original packaging during the guarantee period in order to be able to pack the appliance properly in the event of a guarantee claim. Transport damage will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.

Check the delivery contents

Check for visible signs of damage or missing items.

Report incomplete or damaged contents to your supplier immediately.

Before using for the first time

Clean the appliance and the accessories, as described in the section Cleaning and care (page 23).

Safety switches

The appliance is equipped with a safety switch and can only be operated when the mixing bowl and its lid or the output attachment are seated properly on the mixing bowl.

WARNING

Before using each time, check the function of the safety switch. Switch on the appliance only with attached mixing bowl for this purpose. If the motor turns, the safety switch is defective and the appliance may not be used.

Operation and use

General instructions

■ You can achieve the best results if you always chop smaller quantities at once.
- Cut food into small pieces. In the case of larger quantities or large pieces, it is possible that the ingredients are not chopped uniformly.
In order to chop food evenly, switch off the appliance occasionally and scrape the ingredients off the sides with a plastic scraper.
■ When processing heavy ingredients, do not allow the motor to run for longer that 20 seconds at a time.

Switching the appliance on and off

The appliance is turned on and off via the ⏻ pushbutton (2).

◆ Press the ⏻ pushbutton (2) down. The appliance runs at maximum speed as long as the ⏻ pushbutton is pressed.
- Pushing and releasing the ⏻ push-button allows intermittent running of the motor.

Shredding

Put the mixing bowl (4) onto the motor unit (1) and turn it clockwise until it stops (image A1).

Insert the chopper blade (5) on the drive shaft (3) (image A2).

WARNING

Danger from sharp blades!

Do not touch the blades. Always hold the chopping blade by the plastic shaft.

Fill the food to be chopped into the mixing bowl (4).

NOTE

The mixing bowl (4) may not be overfilled. When chopping food with a high liquid content such as oranges, tomatoes or cucumbers, only fill the mixing bowl up to a half (approx. 200 ml).

Put the lid (6) onto the mixing bowl (4), the triangle on the lid is pointing towards the symbol. Lock the lid by turning it clockwise towards the symbol (image A3, A4).

NOTE

Make sure that the mixing bowl and lid are seated properly, otherwise the appliance cannot be operated (safety switch).

Insert the plug into the mains socket and press the ⏻ pushbutton (2).

ATTENTION

Observe the maximum operating time of 2 minutes.

Allow the appliance to cool down for 1 minute.

NOTE

Before emptying the mixing bowl, remove the chopping blade (5).

Cutting/rasping

Put the mixing bowl (4) onto the motor unit (1) and turn it clockwise until it stops (image A1).

Insert the disc spindle (10) onto the drive shaft (3) (image B1).

Put the cutting/rasping disc (9) onto the disc spindle (image B2). The desired side (cutting or rasping) points upwards.

Put the output attachment (8) with the outlet pointing right onto the mixing bowl, the triangle of the output attachment points towards the symbol. Lock the attachment by turning it clockwise towards the symbol (image B3).

NOTE

Make sure that the mixing bowl and output attachment are seated properly, otherwise the appliance cannot be operated (safety switch).

Fill the food to be rasped or cut into the feed shaft of the output attachment (8).

Put the collecting container (12) under the output (image B4).

Insert the plug into the mains socket and press the ⏻ pushbutton (2).

Push the food with the pusher (7) ♦ downwards until the feed shaft is empty.

ATTENTION

Observe the maximum operating time of 2 minutes.

Allow the appliance to cool down for 1 minute.

Refilling:

◆Switch off the appliance.

Take out the pusher (7) and fill further food into the feed shaft of the output attachment (8).

Processing instructions

■ Do not overfill the mixing bowl during chopping.
Before chopping meat, remove inedible parts such as the skin, tendons and bones.
- Cut the food into pieces with a size of roughly 1.5 cm before chopping.
- Peel the fruit, remove or wash the skin, remove pip(s) and if necessary, cut into small pieces before chopping.
In order to cut or rasp food, it may be necessary to cut into smaller pieces so that they fit into the feed shaft.

After using

Switch off the appliance and pull the plug out of the mains socket.

◆ Rinse the mixing bowl and the accessories used with water.
Clean the appliance and the accessories used as described in the Cleaning and care section (page 23).

Cleaning and care

Before beginning work, pay attention to the safety instructions in the Safety section (page 17)!

Cleaning the appliance

Wipe the motor unit (1) with a slightly damp cloth.

All other parts can be cleaned in a warm washing-up liquid solution or in the dish washer.

Dry all parts of the appliance thor- ◆ oughly after cleaning.

NOTE

Dried and caked food residues can be removed more easily if you allow them to soak in warm washing-up liquid solution for 10 minutes before cleaning.

Immediately after processing very salty ingredients, rinse the chopping blades.

After processing strongly coloured ingredients, the plastic parts of the appliance can become discoloured. Rub these parts with cooking oil before cleaning them.

Storage

If you do not intend to use the appliance for a longer period of time, clean it as described in the section Cleaning and care (page 23).

Store the appliance and all accessory parts at a dry, clean and frost-free location, which is protected against direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting

The following table will help you locate and eliminate minor faults:
