USER MANUAL EM 3191 CLATRONIC
General Safety Instructions Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.
- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fi t for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors (except if it is desig- ned to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
- When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
- Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you should leave the workplace, always switch the machine off or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead).
- Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.
- Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualifi ed person and with a cable of the same type.
- Use only original spare parts.

The blades are very sharp. Please be careful when you combine, insert or remove the blades. Wall Installation The charging station (7) can also be installed on the wall. Please remember however that there must be an electric socket close by.
- Measure the distance between the indentations on the back of the wall holder and drill three holes this distance apart for the rawlplugs. Preliminary Cleaning Before using the device for the fi rst time you should clean it in order to remove any residues from the production process. Please follow the instructions contained in the „Cleaning“ section. Charging the Battery The electric knife has two charging contacts on the sides.
- If you would like to charge up the device, place it in the charging station.
- The charging contacts are closed.
- Connect the mains adapter to a 230 V/50 Hz socket.
- The charging lamp lights up when contact has been made with the mains adapter.
WARNING: Use of Standard and Rechargeable Batteries
- Only rechargeable batteries may be charged up with the mains adapter.
- Do not replace rechargeable batteries with non-rechargeable ones.
- There is a danger of explosion if you attempt to charge up non-rechargeable batteries! NOTE:
- The lamp does not provide any information on the charge status of the battery.
- The charging time the fi rst time the battery is charged is 16 hours and 8 hours for each subsequent charge.
- After the device has charged up please disconnect the mains adapter from the socket. Combining the Blades
- Place the blade with the long slit on the blade with rivet.
- Guide the rivet along the large drill hole into the long slit.
- Push the rivet into the long slit. The blades will now stay together but can move in the long slit. Inserting Blades
- Hold the blades by the plastic (see illustration A).
- Guide the shaft of the blade into the blade shaft.
On/off switch The on/off switch is a safety switch.
- First push the red catch towards the front.
- Now you can switch on the knife. Removing Blades

- Press the buttons (2) and you can then take the blades out of the device. Cleaning
- Always remove the mains plug from the socket before cleaning the device!
- Never immerse the device in water!
- Do not use any sharp items for cleaning!
- Do not use any caustic or abrasive detergents! Removable Parts
- The blades can be removed as described.
- Clean the components immediately after use.
- Wash any removable parts that have come into contact with food by hand in soapy water.
- These components are not suitable for cleaning in a dishwasher. Housing

During the life of the guarantee any fault of the device or its accessories ascribable to material or manufacturing defects will be eliminated free of charge by repairing or, at our discretion, by replacing it. The guarantee services do not entail an extension of the life of the guarantee nor do they give rise to any right to a new guarantee! Proof of the guarantee is provided by the proof of purchase. Without proof of purchase no free replacement or repair will be carried out. If you wish to make a claim under the guarantee please return the entire machine in the original packaging to your dealer together with the receipt. Defects to consumables or parts subject to wearing as well as cleaning, maintenance or the replacement of said parts are not covered by the guarantee and hence are to be paid! Battery Disposal The device contains rechargeable nickel-cadmium batteries. Remove these batteries before you dispose of the device. To do so, open the battery compartment and take the batteries out.
- Used batteries and accumulators (rechargeable batteries) should not be disposed of in domestic waste.
- These can be returned to a collection point for old batteries or special refuse. Contact your local authority for further information. Meaning of the “Dustbin” Symbol Protect our environment: do not dispose of electrical equipment in the domestic waste. Please return any electrical equipment that you will no longer use to the collection points provided for their disposal. This helps avoid the potential effects of incorrect disposal on the environment and human health. This will contribute to the recycling and other forms of reutilisation of electrical and electronic equipment.
