INSTRUCTIONS

Caution! For safety purposes, do not use the GREEN POWER XL device without having roughly read and understood instructions.

Children and teenagers below the age of 16 should not use the GREEN POWER XL and must stand away when it runs. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

This device should not be used by persons (including children) with impaired physical, sensory or mental abilities, or lacking knowledge and experience, without supervision by a person in charge of their safety, instructing them on how to use the device.

Ensure that the product is properly positioned

Unplug the product before removal from fire

Allow the product to cool before storage

Do not allow the hot part of the product to touch the cord or other flammable materials.

SAFETY MEASURES

READ CAREFULLY BEFORE USE

The user is liable towards any third party for any event linked with the use of the GREEN POWER XL (electrical installation, etc.). In France, comply with the NF C15-100 standard of 07/00 governing low voltage electrical installations. In other countries, comply with local regulations. Before using the GREEN POWER XL, we advise you to ask a skilled electrician to check that the safety measures required on the electrical network are fitted.

The specifications indicated on the plate of the GREEN POWER XL must match the specifications of the electrical network. For safety purposes, the electrical network supplying the GREEN POWER XL must be fitted with a differential circuit breaker (30 mA).

Check the condition of the power supply cables before starting up.

Do not use the cable to other ends than those planned, do not use the cable to carry the GREEN POWER XL, hang it nor disconnect it from the power outlet

If you add an extension cord, it must be identical to the power supply cable of the GREEN POWER XL (see paragraph 4), with sealed connecting plug.

Do not modify the GREEN POWER XL. Never intervene on the electrical part. Only

HOZELOCK after-sales service is authorized to intervene on the electrical part of the GREEN POWER XL. If the electrical cable of the product becomes damaged, do not use the product.

If the electrical cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the

manufacturer, their after sales department or by people with similar qualifications to avoid any danger. We waive any liability in case of accident caused by a use of the GREEN POWER XL not complying with safety instructions or beyond its scope of application, or due to a modification of the GREEN POWER XL or an intervention on the electrical part. A fire may result if the appliance is not used with care, therefore: Do not use the GREEN POWER XL in an environment featuring risks of explosion or near flammable materials.

Do not use in an arid zone to prevent risks of fire.

Do not direct the hot air towards persons or animals.

Do not direct the hot air flow to the same point for a rather long period. Ensure the heat cannot propagate to hidden flammable materials, and ignite them.

After its use, lay the GREEN POWER XL on its carrier (Fig1 item 7) safely and leave it to cool down completely before storing it.

Do not leave the GREEN POWER XL running unattended.

Do not expose the GREEN POWER XL to rain or humidity.

Do not immerse the GREEN POWER XL in water.

Disconnect the device before changing any accessories or storing it. Do not touch the hot nozzle (Fig1 item 8,9). Never obstruct the vents (Fig1 item 5).

SCOPE OF APPLICATION

The GREEN POWER XL is designed for a private domestic use.

It eliminates weed by means of thermal shock. The fast temperature build-up bursts the cells of the plant and destroys the weed.

START-UP - FIRST USE

Starting up

Choose the round nozzle or the extra large nozzle for your using.

Assemble without tool the nozzle chosen with bayonet system (Fig3).

Caution: Don't exchange, don't dismount or don't assemble a nozzle if GREEN POWER XL was just used. Make sure that the product is totally cold before to do these operations.

Ensure the nozzle (8 or 9) is properly fitted and the switch (4) is set to 'OFF' (Fig2A). Connect the GREEN POWER XL with the supply cable (3) onto the power supply network after checking the safety measures are observed. Check that nothing is placed in front of the nozzle when switching on the GREEN POWER XL.

Start the GREEN POWER XL by setting the switch to the heating position (Fig2B).

Hold the GREEN POWER XL with its ergonomic handle (1).

Warm up the device for 45 seconds to reach the operating temperature.

To eliminate weed, apply the nozzle (8 or 9) onto it while letting it rest on the ground for the duration indicated in the table above. You simply need to heat (whiten) the weeds until they shrink back; there is no need to burn the plant.

The plant cells will then dry and the

weeds will wither and be destroyed in 2 to 3 days.

The residue may then be removed and composted.

Note: several treatments may be necessary for stubborn and tenacious weeds.

Stopping the device

Before stopping the device completely, a cooling phase is required.

Set the switch (4) to the "Ventilation" position (Fig2C). Ventilation must last 30 seconds minimum.

Once this operation is complete, you can set the switch to OFF (Fig2A) to switch off the GREEN POWER XL.

Using as a charcoal BBQ lighter

Equiped with the round nozzle, this device can be used to light charcoal barbecues. Comply with the barbecue manufacturer's instructions.

To light the charcoal, put the charcoal in the barbecue as usual and bring the nozzle up to within a few centimetres from the charcoal.

Make sure that the device is suitably positioned and stable directed at the centre of the barbecue. Set the device to "heat" (Fig2B). Leave the device in the same position until the charcoal starts to glow. This may take between 30 seconds and 2 minutes depending on the charcoal. When the charcoal is sufficiently hot, it becomes red and flames may appear near the nozzle.

This indicates that the charcoal is lit.

Unplug the device before removing it from the fire. Allow the device to cool down before putting it away (see next paragraph). Do not let the hot parts of the device to touch the power cord or other inflammable materials.

Storage

Check the device is completely cold before storing it.

The device can be laid on the ground

on its carrier (7) or hung to the wall by its anchoring point (2).

TROUBLESHOOTING / SOLUTIONS

WARRANTY

This product has a 2-years warranty against any material or manufacturing defect, from the date of purchase of the device by the user, upon presentation of the purchase invoice or cashier receipt only. This warranty consists in repairing the faulty device.

Our warranty excludes:

• unauthorized disassembly of the device,

• wear parts,

-modified equipment,

• equipment used against the recommendations described in these instructions,

• equipment abused,

• degradations due to careless use: shock, drop...

Our warranty does not cover accidents resulting from the damage or faulty and abnormal use of the equipment.

The legal warranty for conformity defects and redhibitory vice applies according to the conditions of articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code.
