Before first use

  1. Before using the appliance for the first time, we recommend you heat the appliance at a high temperature for 10 minutes without any food. This will eliminate any protective substance that may have been used in production. It is normal that a small amount of smoke and odour may be present. Make sure the area is well-ventilated.
  2. Let the Grill Plates and the Raclette Pans cool down and then clean them (see chapter "Cleaning and maintenance").

Using the Raclette Grill

There are two ways of using the grill:

Expanded

Take out the Plastic Clip from the appliance and expand it.

  • Combine the 2 sets of the Grill Plates and use the Plastic Clip to fasten them together.

Operation

  1. Place the appliance on a stable, level, dry and heat resistant surface. Use a non-slip heat-resistant mat under the appliance to protect the tabletop from heat.
  2. Make sure the On/Off Switch is switch to "Off" [0] position before use.
  3. Plug the power cable to an earthed mains socket and ensure a firm connection.
  4. Switch the appliance to "On" (I) position. Allow the appliance to preheat for 5 minutes before putting the food on the Grill Plates.

CAUTION:

  • Beware of hot surfaces. Do not touch the Grill Plates or the Raclette Pans when operating.
  • If you combined the 4 Grill Plates together, make sure you have put the Plastic Clip on to fasten the whole unit.

  • To start cooking, grease the Grill Plates and Raclette Pans slightly with butter.

  • Place the food on the Grill Plates to cook. If you also need to use the Raclette Pans, place the food on the pans and put the pans under the Grill Plates (lower grill slots).

CAUTION:

It is dangerous to cut the food on the Grill Plates as the plates may tip over.
- Do not rest utensils on the Grill Plates as the surface will be extremely hot.

NOTE:

  • Use the Wooden Spatulas provided or nylon utensils on the Grill Plates to protect the non-stick surfaces from scratches. Do not use metal or sharp utensils.
  • Cooking time will depend on the thickness of the food. We recommend you turn the food occasionally and check while cooking.

  • When finish cooking, Switch off the appliance and unplug the power cable from the mains socket. Wait until the appliance is completely cool before moving or cleaning it.

Cooking tips:

Cut the meat into little pieces in order to reduce the cooking time.
- Place a slice of cheese in a Raclette Pan, and then place the pan under the Grill Plates (lower grill slots) and the cheese will melt. The melted cheese is traditionally eaten together with jacket potatoes. The combination of melted cheese with shallots, gherkin, ham, pepperoni, a French stick and white wine is also very tasty.
- Your Raclette-Party-Grill can also give the prepared food a crisp crust. Place the food in a Raclette Pan. Add a slice of tomato or mushroom. Then add a little cheese or a slice of cheese. Place the Raclette Pan under the Grill Plates (lower grill slots). When the food gets a dark colour, remove it from the Raclette Pan. Allow the melted cheese to cool slightly before serving.
If cheese is frozen, the heating time will be much longer than that under room temperature.
- Clean the appliance after each use to prevent any food residue from accumulating (See chapter "Cleaning and maintenance").

  • You can clean the exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth and dry afterwards. Never immerse the appliance in water. Do not use abrasive cleaners as they can cause damage to the material.
  • Allow the appliance to dry thoroughly before storing it away.

Storage
