What is the noise level of the VALBERG VAL-SF40 fan in decibels?
Frequently Asked Questions - 07/13/2026
Response Notice-Facile

The VALBERG VAL-SF40 fan has an acoustic power level of 51.86 dB(A).

To put this in perspective, this noise level is comparable to a normal conversation or a quiet office. It is relatively discreet operation for a standing fan, making it well-suited for use in a bedroom, living room, or office without being intrusive.

This noise level has been measured according to applicable standards and represents the maximum acoustic power of the fan during normal operation.

What are the technical specifications of the power supply for the VALBERG VAL-SF40 fan?
Frequently Asked Questions - 07/08/2026
Response Notice-Facile

Here are the precise specifications of the power supply for the VALBERG VAL-SF40 fan:

  • Voltage: 220-240 V~ (alternating current), 50 Hz
  • Rated power: 45 W
  • Measured power (maximum): 39.4 W
  • Cord length: 180 cm (1.80 m)
  • Protection class: Class II (double insulation)
  • Type of plug: Standard European wall plug

These specifications correspond to indoor domestic use. The power cord should be used in a dry atmosphere with adequate ventilation. If you need to replace the cord, mention the model VAL-SF40 and these characteristics to your spare parts supplier.

How to replace the power cord of the VALBERG VAL-SF40 fan if it is damaged or lost?
Frequently Asked Questions - 07/08/2026
Response Notice-Facile

The VALBERG VAL-SF40 fan does not have a removable external "power supply" like some devices. It is equipped with a fixed power cord of 180 cm in length that plugs directly into a standard European wall socket (220-240V, 50 Hz).

If your cord is damaged or lost:

  • You must replace the entire cord, not just a separate adapter or power plug
  • Contact the Electro Dépôt customer service (the official retailer) mentioning the reference VAL-SF40 to order an authentic replacement cord
  • You can also check www.electrodepot.fr/sav/notices where available spare parts and ordering procedures are listed
  • Avoid uncertified replacement cords: the VAL-SF40 is class II (double insulation) and requires a cable that meets safety standards

Specifications of the original cord: 180 cm, 220-240V 50 Hz, rated power 45 W. Keep this information to order the correct part.

The screws for securing the control box are not holding at step 6 - what should I do?
Frequently Asked Questions - 05/30/2026
Response Notice-Facile

If the screw securing the control box (M) is not holding firmly at step 6 of assembling your VAL-SF40, here are the checks to perform.

First, make sure you have completely unscrewed the screw before inserting the box. The manual clearly states that you need to loosen the securing screw (M) by turning it counterclockwise with a screwdriver before inserting the control box (K) onto the inner tube (N). This step is crucial: if the screw is still partially engaged, the box will not slide properly onto the tube.

Next, check that the box fits properly into the guides of the inner tube. The box should align naturally with the tube without forcing it. If you encounter resistance during insertion, check that the inner tube is clean and that the box is not damaged. Any debris or slight deformation can prevent proper fitting.

For the final tightening, use a suitable Phillips screwdriver for the size of the slot of the screw (M). Turn slowly and steadily clockwise until you feel slight resistance. Do not force excessively: overtightening may damage the plastic thread of the box or tube, making it impossible for the screw to stay tight.

If the screw continues to not stay tight despite these checks, the problem is likely due to a defect in the thread. In this case, try slightly changing the position of the screw (a fraction of a turn) or check that the fixing hole of the box is not misaligned. If the problem persists, contact the ELECTRO DEPOT customer service with your proof of purchase, as it is possible that the box or tube has a manufacturing defect covered by the 2-year warranty.

How to properly tighten the screws in step 5 when assembling the fan?
Frequently Asked Questions - 05/30/2026
Response Notice-Facile

In step 5, the screws must indeed be tightened properly to ensure the stability of the fan. According to the VAL-SF40 manual, you use 4 screws (R) to secure the crossbars and tubes together.

To ensure the screws hold properly:

  • Check that the 4 grooves of the base and the crossbar align well before inserting the screws
  • Insert the screws gradually and tighten them firmly but without excessive force (risk of breaking the plastic)
  • Alternate tightening the screws two by two for even tension
  • Make sure all components are properly in place before tightening definitively

If the screws still do not hold, check that the grooves are not damaged or misaligned. Remember to unplug the fan before any assembly or disassembly.

Can the VALBERG VAL-SF40 fan be used in heating mode?
Frequently Asked Questions - 01/09/2026
Response Notice-Facile

No, the VALBERG VAL-SF40 fan does not have a heating mode. This device is designed exclusively for air circulation and ventilation indoors, as stated in its official documentation.

Actual functions of the VAL-SF40:

  • Air circulation: Maximum flow rate of 41.5 m³/min to effectively stir the air in a room
  • 3 adjustable speeds: Low, Medium, and High to adapt the circulation to your needs
  • Automatic oscillation: Left-right function to distribute air over a wide area
  • Adjustable height: From 101 to 118 cm to direct the airflow where you want it
  • Adjustable tilt: Allows you to adjust the angle of the fan head

The power of the device is only 45W, which confirms its limited role to ventilation. No heating element is present.

If you are looking to heat a room, you should use an electric radiator, a convector, a heat pump, or another dedicated heating system. The VAL-SF40 remains ideal for improving air circulation and creating comfort in summer or any season, but it cannot replace a heating device in any way.
