How to use the waffle maker for the first time?

Before first use, remove the packaging, fully unwind the cable, clean the surfaces with a damp cloth, then lightly grease the plates. Heat the appliance closed for about 10 minutes (thermostat setting 3). Let it cool and wipe the plates. Do not consume the first waffles.

Which temperature setting to choose for golden waffles?

Set the thermostat to 3 for preheating. During cooking, you can adjust the thermostat from 1 (less golden) to 5 (more golden) according to your preference. The green indicator light turns on and off to maintain the temperature.

How long does it take to cook a waffle?

The cooking time is about 5 to 6 minutes, but it may vary depending on the batter used. Open the lid to check the cooking.

How to clean the waffle maker after use?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool completely. Clean the plates with a soft sponge and soapy water, then rinse and dry. Never use abrasive or metal objects. The housing can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth. Never immerse the appliance in water.

Why do my waffles not brown evenly?

This may be due to an insufficient or poorly distributed amount of batter. Make sure to pour enough batter to cover the bottom plate and spread it evenly. Then close the lid by pressing briefly.

What to do if the batter overflows?

You put too much batter. Next time, reduce the amount and spread it well in the center of the plate. Overflow may also be due to excess yeast in the batter.

The red indicator light does not turn on, what should I do?

Check that the plug is correctly inserted into the outlet and that the outlet is powered (test with another appliance). Make sure the thermostat is not set to 0. If the problem persists, the appliance may be defective.

Can I use metal utensils to remove waffles?

No, use only wooden or heat-resistant plastic utensils. Sharp or metal objects may damage the non-stick coating.

How to store the appliance after use?

Let the appliance cool completely, clean it, then store it in a dry, dust-free place. Wind the cable without bending it. If possible, keep the original packaging.

Is a simple waffle recipe provided?

Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.

• The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use.
• Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
• When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
• Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the device off. Remove the plug from the socket.

The temperature of the touchable surface may become very high during use.

• Do not touch the hot parts of the device. If necessary, you should use an oven cloth and hold the device only by the handle or the recessed grip.

• In order to prevent heat from building up, do not put the unit directly underneath a cupboard. Ensure that there is enough space all around!
• Do not move the device when it is working.
• Be cautious of heat escaping from the device! Never use the device near or below curtains or other flammable materials!
• Please ensure that the mains lead does not come into contact with the hot sections of the device.
• Allow the device to cool down before cleaning it and putting it away.
• Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualified person and with a cable of the same type.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• Children shall not play with the appliance.

Starting-up the unit

Before you prepare the first waffles for consumption...

• Remove any packaging that is still present. Unwind the mains lead completely.
• Clean the housing and the baking surfaces with a damp cloth.

Non-stick coating

1. Lightly grease the baking surfaces before the unit is used for the first time.
2. Use the appliance for about 10 minutes with the toasting surfaces closed (see "Using the unit").
3. Remove the mains plug from the socket and allow the device to cool down.

NOTE:

• Any smoke or smells produced during this procedure are normal. Please ensure sufficient ventilation.
• Do not eat the waffles prepared during first time operation.
• After the device has cooled down, wipe the baking surfaces off with a paper towel.

Electrical connection

1. Check whether the mains voltage that you want to use matches the one of the device. You will find the information about this on the type plate.
2. Insert the plug in a duly installed protective contact socket. The red control lamp will light up.

Using the unit

TE:

• Keep the baking surfaces closed while heating.
• When the warm up phase has ended, the green control lamp will light up.

NOTE:

• The red control lamp remains on to show that the device is working.
• The green control lamp switches on and off during baking in order to maintain the baking temperature.
• The baking section should always be closed in the intervals between baking.
• Turn the temperature control to 3 in order to heat up the device.
• Open the lid and add dough onto the center of the baking surfaces.

iNOTE:

To obtain even waffles, spread the dough. Please put in only enough dough so that the lower baking surface is covered. The dough should be filled in quickly as otherwise the wafers will not brown evenly.

1. Gently close the lid and briefly keep it pressed down.

WARNING:

Be careful of the emitted steam, danger of burns.

1. The desired baking temperature can be set with the selector.

NOTE:

The baking process lasts approx. 5-6 minutes. This may vary depending on the consistency of the mixture. If your waffles are too dark, turn the control to a lower setting.

1. Remove the ready-to-eat waffles with a wooden fork or similar.
2. Place the waffle on a platter or plate and sprinkle some icing sugar on top of it.
3. Lightly grease the baking surfaces again as required after each baking process.

CAUTION:

Do not use pointed or sharp objects to avoid damaging the coating of the baking surfaces.

Switching Off

In order to stop operation, set the temperature control to the "0" position (off). Then disconnect the mains plug from the wall socket. The red control lamp goes off.

Recipe for waffles

Mix 5 egg yolks, 5 tablespoons of hot water, 100 g sugar, and 1 grated lemon peel together until frothy. Then stir in a mixture of 1/2 teaspoon baking powder and 150 g flour. Beat the 5 egg whites until stiff and fold them into the batter.

Cleaning

WARNING:

• Always unplug the appliance from the mains socket before cleaning and wait until it has cooled down.
• Do not immerse the device in water! This could result in electric shock or fire.

CAUTION:

• Do not use wire brushes or other abrasive objects.
• Do not use acidic or abrasive detergents.

Baking Surfaces

• Remove any food residues while they are still warm with a damp cloth or paper towel.
• Wash the baking surfaces with a soft sponge and soapy water; then wipe with clean water and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. After drying, apply a thin film of edible oil to the surface.

Housing

Clean the housing after use with a slightly damp cloth.

Operating instructions for the appliance

Instructions for use

Before first use...

Remove all packaging materials that have remained on the appliance. Carefully unwind the power cord. Check the housing and surface for visible damage.

Non-stick coating

1. Before first use, apply a small amount of oil to the cooking surface.
2. Close the cooking surface (see section "Using the appliance"), switch on the appliance and heat it for about 10 minutes.
3. Unplug the appliance from the socket and wait until it cools down.

Note.

It is completely normal that a slight smell may be emitted during the first use of the appliance. Ensure sufficient ventilation. This is not a defect and will disappear after the first use.

1. When the appliance has cooled down, wipe the cooking surfaces with a soft cloth.

Electrical connection

1. Make sure that the voltage you intend to use matches the voltage of the appliance. This information is indicated on the rating plate of the appliance. 2. Insert the plug into a properly installed socket with a protective contact. The power indicator lights up.

Device setup

NOTE.

During heating, the upper part of the appliance must be closed. - After heating is complete, the green indicator lights up. - The red control lamp goes out. 1. Return the temperature regulator to position 3 to heat the appliance.
2. Open the lid and pour the dough into the opening on the upper part of the appliance.

CONNECTING TO THE MAINS

1. Check that the mains voltage matches the rated voltage of the appliance. This information is given on the rating plate.

1. Insert the plug into a socket with earth contact, installed in accordance with regulations. The red indicator lamp will light up.

Operation/Procedure

NOTE:

During the heating phase, keep the waffle plates closed. - After the heating phase, the green indicator lamp lights up. The red indicator lamp remains on and signals that the appliance is ready. The green indicator lamp switches on and off from time to time to maintain the set temperature. During pauses, always keep the waffle plates closed.

1. To switch off the appliance, set the temperature regulator to 3.
2. Open the lid and pour the batter into the center of the lower plate.

NOTE:

To make waffles of the same size, spread the batter evenly over the plate. Pour enough batter onto the lower plate so that it is completely covered. Pour quickly, otherwise the waffles will not brown evenly.

1. Carefully close the lid and press it down slightly into the closed position.

WARNING:

Beware of the protruding steam, danger of burns.

1. Set the regulator to the required temperature.

NOTES:

• The waffles bake for about 5-6 minutes. This time may vary depending on the characteristics of the dough. If the waffles are too dark, set the regulator to a lower heating level.
• Remove the finished waffles with a wooden or similar tool.
• Place the waffle on a flat plate and sprinkle it with powdered sugar.
• After each baking, if necessary, lightly grease the mold with oil.

ATTENTION:

Never use sharp or pointed objects, as this may damage the non-stick coating of the appliance surface.

TURNING OFF

To stop the appliance, set the temperature regulator to the "0" (OFF) position. Then disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet. The red control lamp will go out.
