What is the runtime of the BCS8224WA vacuum cleaner?

The runtime depends on the battery and mode used. With a 4.0 Ah battery, you get up to 65 minutes in standby mode, 50 minutes with electric brush in standby mode, 20 minutes in auto mode, and 10 minutes in turbo mode. The 3.0 Ah and 5.0 Ah batteries offer different runtimes (see manual).

How do I charge the vacuum cleaner battery?

You can charge the battery in three ways: using the provided charging cable by connecting the battery to the mains, by placing the vacuum on the base station, or using the fast charger (if included). Use only genuine BOSCH Power for ALL 18 V chargers. Charging time is approximately 4 to 5.5 hours depending on capacity.

What accessories are supplied with the BCS8224WA?

How do I clean the vacuum filter?

Turn off the device and remove the dust bin. Remove the filter unit (lamellar filter and fluff filter). Never let the filters come into contact with liquids. Tap them gently or brush them to remove dust. You can also wash them with lukewarm water (no detergent) and let them dry completely before reinstalling. Follow the illustrated steps in the manual (fig. 29-35).

What should I do if the vacuum does not turn on?

Check that the battery is correctly inserted. If it is discharged, recharge it. If the error display flashes red, the battery or device may be overheated or undercooled. Turn off the device and wait for it to return to room temperature. If the problem persists, consult the troubleshooting table in the manual.

How do I empty the dust bin?

Press the release button on the dust bin. Remove the bin and empty it into a trash can. For deeper cleaning, you can rinse the bin with water (no harsh chemicals) and dry it. See figures 25-28 in the manual.

Can I use the vacuum on carpets and hard floors?

Yes, the vacuum comes with an electric brush for hard floors and a standard electric brush. The hard floor brush is suitable for parquet, tiles, etc. For carpets, use the standard electric brush. You can also use the accessories for furniture and mattresses.

How do I clean the electric brush?

Turn off the device and remove the brush. Use a tool (scissors or a knife) to cut hair or threads wrapped around the roller. You can also remove the roller for easier cleaning. Refer to figures 36-38 in the manual.

What is the warranty on the BCS8224WA vacuum?

The legal warranty is 2 years (except special conditions in your country). To benefit from the warranty, keep your proof of purchase. Repairs must be carried out by qualified personnel using genuine BOSCH parts.

• Never point the pipe or the nozzles towards eyes, hair, ears or mouths.
• Ensure that children do not play with the appliance, even when it is in the base station 1.
• Persons with electronic implants must stand at least 10 cm away from the appliance.
• Keep packaging material away from children. Do not let children play with packaging material. Protect the battery against fire, heat and constant sunlight. Protect the battery against water and penetrating moisture.
• Never open the battery.
• When not in use, keep the battery away from metal objects, e.g. paper clips, coins, keys, nails or screws. Supply fresh air. If there are any problems, seek medical advice from a doctor.
• If these come into contact with the skin, wash immediately with cold water. If these come into contact with the eyes, seek medical help.

Preventing material damage

To prevent material damage to your appliance, accessories or any other objects, follow these instructions.

Check and clean any wet objects. Replace damaged objects. Regularly check the outsides of the nozzles for wear. Replace the worn nozzle.

• Never use the nozzle without the brush roller in place.
• Never operate the appliance without the filter unit.

Notes

• Like every Li-ion battery, the batteries from the Power for ALL 18 V series wear out over time, meaning that the battery capacity and the runtime decrease. This is a natural aging process and not the result of a material error, manufacturing error or material defect.
• You can delay the natural wear by using the following measures:
• Only charge the battery in the temperature range between 0°C and 45°C.
• Only store the battery in the temperature range between -20°C and 50°C.
• Do not store the battery for an extended period of time if it is fully charged or fully discharged.

Installing the base station

• Check whether any household wiring could be damaged in the installation area.
• Do not install the base station horizontally or vertically above, below or next to a socket.

Charging

Only charge the battery in chargers that are recommended by the manufacturer. Only use the battery in connection with the Bosch appliance. Charge the battery using the original charging cable or the original quick charger. Only use batteries from the Power for ALL 18 V series.

Note: The power supply unit on the charging cable and the appliance heat up while charging. This is normal and harmless.
