BEFORE FIRST USE

  1. Remove the coffee maker from the packaging. Remove all plastic bags, fillers, safety locks and packaging labels.
  2. Inspect the coffee maker for damage which may have been caused in transport. If you suspect that the coffee maker is damaged, do not use it. Consult the seller.
  3. Verify that your power mains match the nameplate ratings of the coffee maker.
  4. Wash and clean the coffee maker. Follow Section "CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE".
  5. Place the coffee maker on a firm, dry, stable, flat and level surface.
  1. Open the top lid (3) and pour as much cold drinking water into the water tank (5) as you need. Check the water level on the gauge (6). The gauge marks 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 15 are the number of coffee cups you can brew. MAX is about 1,8 litres of water.

CAUTION! Do not exceed the maximum water level of the tank (the MAX mark). Do not pour any water into the coffee drip basket (8).

  1. Place the coffee drip basket (8) inside the coffee maker. Put the coffee filter (7) in the basket (8). The coffee filter has a handle for easy installation and removal.
  2. Pour enough ground or granulated coffee in the coffee filter (7). For a medium strong coffee, add 1 teaspoon (6 - 7g) per one coffee cup. Add as much coffee as you prefer and/or according to the coffee variety.
  3. Close the top lid. Never open the top lid when the coffee maker is brewing.
  4. Put the glass coffee jug (9) on the heat plate (12). Make sure that the drip stop valve at bottom of the coffee drip basket (8) is is fully engaged in the centre of the coffee jug lid (11) and open.

CAUTION! Do not add water to the coffee jug. While the coffee maker is brewing, the coffee jug will be slowly filled with the brew.

  1. Plug the coffee maker to the mains. The LCD (2a) starts to glow intermittently when the coffeemaker is powered on.
  2. Start brewinging your coffee by pressing the button you need:

  3. ON/OFF (2g) — brews coffee with a regular strength
STRONG (2c) - brews stronger coffee

When the coffee maker is brewing, the LCD displays "ON", the brewing indicator light (2i) is on, and, if you are brewing a stronger coffee, the "STRONG" icon is on.
8. The fresh-brewed coffee will start dripping slowly to the coffee jug. The drip stop valve stops the brew from flowing when released from the coffee jug lid, so you can serve the coffee while the coffee maker is still brewing, and prevents spilling the brew on the heat plate. Replacing the coffee jug back on the heat plate opens the drip stop valve and resumes filling with the brew.

CAUTION! Do not open the top lid when brewing. Do not use the coffee maker if the water tank is empty!

CAUTION! The brewed coffee is hot. Do not remove the glass jug for more than 30 seconds when the coffee maker is on. Keep at least a little of brewed coffee in the coffee jug so that the heat plate does not overheat the empty coffee jug. The heat plate is hot when in use. Hazard of burns!

  1. When all water has been used from the tank to brew coffee, the coffee maker will stop automatically and hold the coffee jug hot at 75^ ± 2^ on the heat plate for about 40 minutes. If you serve out all the coffee from the jug before the coffee maker stops warming after brewing, immediately power off the coffee maker.
  2. You can stop brewing any time by pressing "ON/OFF" (2g).
  3. Before brewing a fresh jug of coffee, remove the spent coffee from the filter, add fresh coffee and refill the water tank. Next, set the desired mode and start brewing.
  4. When done using the coffee maker, unplug it from the mains outlet and clean the coffee maker.
  5. You can set the coffee maker do display the actual time. With the coffee maker plugged to the mains, operate the "HOUR" (2e) and "MIN" (2f) buttons to set the actual hour and minutes. Once set, the actual time will be displayed until the coffee maker is unplugged from the mains.
  6. With the actual time set, you can set the time for the delayed start of brewing. To do this, press the "PROG" button (2d). The LCD shows "PROGRAM". Operate the "HOUR" (2e) and "MIN" (2f) buttons to set the time of the delayed coffee brewing start. The indicator light (2h) is on if the delayed start time has been set. You can program the delayed start time for the regular strength coffee only.

GENERAL COFFEE BREWING HINTS AND TIPS

  1. The volume of coffee is always slightly lower than the volume of water it is brewed with. The missing water is absorbed by the coffee from which you brew.
  2. Keep your coffee beans or ground or granulated coffee in a sealed container and in a dry and cold place.
  3. Do not rebrew the spent coffee. The best and roundest aroma can only be achieved with the first brewing.
  4. Keep the appliance clean. Dirt, grime, residues of spent coffee and coffee oil produced by brewing will spoil the overall aroma of the brew and reduce the operating life of the coffee maker.

  4. Keep the appliance clean. Dirt, grime, residues of spent coffee and coffee oil produced by grinding and brewing will spoil the overall aroma of the brew and reduce the operating life of the coffee maker.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

CAUTION! Before cleaning, always unplug the coffee maker from the mains outlet and wait until it has completely cooled down.

CAUTION! Do not immerse the housing (1) in water!

  1. Open the top lid and remove the coffee filter (7) with the coffee drip basket (8). Wash these parts in warm water with a detergent. Next, rinse clean and dry the parts. The drip stop valve at the bottom outer part of the coffee drip basket must always be clean. Press the drip stop valve 3 to 4 times to remove the remaining water and brew.
  2. Gently wash the glass coffee jug (9) with its handle (10) and lid (11) like any other glassware.
  3. The glass jug (9) and the coffee drip basket (8) are dishwasher safe.
  4. Wipe the housing (1) clean with a damp cloth and then wipe it dry.

CAUTION! Rough (abrasive) cleaning cloths or sponges may scratch the outer finish of the coffee maker.

  1. Use the CLEAN mode (for descending) regularly. This helps keep the internal parts free from limescale and the coffee taste and aroma natural when brewing the next serving. Descale the coffee maker as follows:

  2. Open the top lid (3) and add approximately 12 litre of vinegar and 1 litre of water to the water tank. Alternatively, use the same amount of water and a dedicated coffee maker descaling agent.

  3. Close the top lid (3) and put the empty coffee jug (9) on the heat plate (12).
  4. Plug the coffee maker to the mains.
  5. Start the self-cleaning / descending mode by pressing the "CLEAN" button (2b). The LCD displays "CLEAN" when the self-cleaning / descending mode is running.
  6. In the self-cleaning / descending mode, the coffee maker slowly drips water from the tank to the glass jug, while the internals are descaled. Run self-cleaning / descending with the coffee drip basket (8). Self-cleaning / descending takes from several to several dozen minutes to complete, depending on how much water is in the tank.
  7. When self-cleaning / descaling is done, the red indicator light (2i) and the "CLEAN" message are off.
  8. Repeat self-cleaning / descending 2 to 3 times with pure water only, to remove the descaler's residues.
  9. Unplug the coffee maker from the mains.

  10. When the indicator light (2h) starts flashing, you need to immediately run self-cleaning / descending with the CLEAN mode. When self-cleaning / descending is complete, the indicator light (2h) is off.

  11. Keep the coffee maker in a dry place, away from sunlight.
