For Your Safety

Switch off and remove battery from machine before adjusting or cleaning.

The blade continues to rotate for a few seconds after the cordless trimmer is switched off.

Caution - do not touch the rotating blade.

Assembly

Battery Charging

Observe correct mains voltage: The voltage of the power source must agree with the voltage specified on the nameplate of the unit. Equipment marked with 230 V can also be connected to 220 V or 240 V.

Use only the charging unit supplied. Only this charging unit is matched to the lithium-ion battery used in the product.

The battery is equipped with temperature monitoring that allows charging only in the temperature range between 0 °C and 45 °C. In this manner, a high battery service life is achieved.

Note: The battery is supplied partially charged. To ensure full capacity of the battery, completely charge the battery in the battery charger before using your power tool for the first time.

The lithium ion battery can be charged at any time without reducing its service life. Interrupting the charging procedure does not damage the battery.

Removing the Battery A

Press the battery unlocking button and pull out the battery 15 toward the rear.

Charging Procedure

The charging procedure starts as soon as the mains plug is plugged into the socket and the battery is then inserted into the battery charger 14.

Firstly, place the battery 15 as shown in the figure onto the front of the battery charger (0) and then press the battery 15 down at the rear (2). To remove the battery, proceed in reverse order.

Due to the intelligent charging method, the charging condition of the battery is automatically detected and the battery is charged with the optimum charging current, depending on battery temperature and voltage.

This gives longer life to the battery and always leaves it fully charged when kept in the charger for storage.

Note: The charging procedure is only possible when the battery temperature is within the allowable charging temperature range, see section "Technical Data".

Flashing Battery Charge Indicator 13

BOSCH ART26 COMBITRIM+ - Flashing Battery Charge Indicator 13 - 1

The charging procedure is signalled by a flashing battery charge indicator 13.

Continuous Lighting of the Battery Charge Indicator 13

BOSCH ART26 COMBITRIM+ - Continuous Lighting of the Battery Charge Indicator 13 - 1

Continuous lighting of the battery charge indicator 13 indicates that the battery is fully charged or that the temperature of the battery is not within the allowable charging temperature range, and cannot be charged for this reason.

The battery is charged as soon as the allowable charging temperature range is reached.

When the battery is not inserted, continuous lighting of the battery charge indicator 13 indicates that the mains plug is inserted in the socket and that the battery charger is ready for operation.

Charging Advice

With continuous or several repetitive charging cycles without interruption, the charger can warm up. This is not meaningful and does not indicate a technical defect of the battery charger.

A significantly reduced working period after charging indicates that the battery is used and must be replaced.

The Electronic Cell Protection (ECP) protects the lithium ion battery against deep discharging. When the battery is run down or discharged, the machine is shut off by means of a protective circuit: The blade no longer rotates.

Do not continue to press the On/Off switch after an automatic shut-off of the machine.

The battery can become damaged.

Working Advice

BOSCH ART26 COMBITRIM+ - Working Advice - 1

Protect the battery from heat, for example, also the continuous exposure to sun radiation and fire.

Product will not function if temperature is below 0°C or above 45°C

Cutting Grass

Move the cordless trimmer left and right, keeping it well away from the body.

The trimmer can efficiently cut grass up to a height of 15 cm. Cut higher grass in stages.

Trimming Edges

Guide the cordless trimmer along the edge of the lawn. Avoid contact with paved surfaces, stones or garden walls, as this will wear the blade rapidly.

For better control, use the plant protector 18 (accessory) as a guide.

Cutting Around Trees and Bushes

Carefully cut around trees and bushes so that they do not come into contact with the blade.

Plants can die if you damage the bark.

For better control, use the plant protector 18 (accessory) as a guide.

The charging process begins when the charging device is connected to the mains and the battery is placed in the charging device.

Place the battery 15 in the charging device as shown in the figure, first the top (1) and then press the battery 15 into the charging slot (2). The removal of the battery is carried out in the reverse order.

Thanks to the intelligent charging process, the state of the battery is recognized and it is charged with the optimal current and temperature voltage.

Thus the battery is protected and, when stored on the charging device, it is always fully charged.

Note: The battery is charged only if the temperature is within the permissible range, see section "Technical Data".

Charging indicator 13

BOSCH ART26 COMBITRIM+ - Charging indicator 13 - 1

The charging process is indicated by the charging indicator 13.

Continuous light of indicator 13

BOSCH ART26 COMBITRIM+ - Continuous light of indicator 13 - 1

The continuous light of indicator 13 indicates that the battery is fully charged.

If the battery temperature is outside the permissible charging range, the battery is not charged at the moment. When the temperature returns to the permissible temperature range, the charging process resumes.

The continuous light of indicator 13, when a battery is inserted, indicates that the device is switched on and the charging device is ready for operation.

Charging indication

During continuous charging, respectively during repeated consecutive charging of the battery, the charging device may heat up. This is normal and does not indicate a technical defect of the charging device.

Significantly reduced operating time after charging indicates that the battery is worn out and must be replaced.

The lithium-ion battery is protected against deep discharge by "Electronic Cell Protection (ECP)". When the battery is discharged, the power tool is switched off via a protective circuit: the tool stops rotating.

Do not immerse the power tool in water or other liquids. Do not press the trigger while doing so.

The battery pack could be damaged.

Charging the power tool

Place the battery pack on the charger as shown, until the charging indicator lights up.

Charging of the battery pack must be carried out in the following sequence:

Mounting the cutting blades 3

Place the cutting blade 11 on the blade holder 9.

Turn the cutting blade on the blade holder and insert it. Press the cutting blade down until you hear a distinct click.

Mounting the hedge trimmer blade

Place the blade 10 on the shaft 17, press it down and turn it until you hear a click.

Working with the device

Switching on

Remove stones, nails, and other hard objects from the area where you will be working.

After switching on the battery pack, the blade will continue to run for a short time due to inertia. Before switching on again, wait until the blade has come to a complete stop.

Do not switch on the power tool immediately after switching it off.

Insert the battery into the power tool as shown in the figure. Make sure it clicks into place.

Switching on

Press and hold the switch for switching on 2, then press the switch for switching on 1.

Release the switch for switching on 2.

Switching off

Release the switch for switching on 1.

Note: The power tool starts only after the switch for switching on 1 has been pressed.

Adjusting the power tool

Using the adjustable handle

The adjustable handle 5 can be set in different positions:

To change the position, loosen the screw on the handle 4 and move the adjustable handle 5. Then tighten the screw 4 to lock the adjustable handle 5 in the selected position.

Adjusting the height of the guide rail F

Turn the locking knob 6 90° to release the guide rail, adjust it to the desired height, then turn the knob 6 back to lock it.

Then tighten the locking knob 6 again.

Adjust the angle of the cutting head C

To change the cutting angle, press lever 12 and turn the guide handle 7 to the desired position.

Release lever 12.

Adjusting for cutting close to a wall

Set the angle of the cutting head:

Press lever 12. Place the guide handle 7 in the starting position. Release lever 12 again.

Changing the cutting head:

Loosen the locking screw 6. Turn the guide handle 7 90° clockwise so that the head 9 is as shown in the figure. Tighten the screw 6 again.

Operating instructions

BOSCH ART26 COMBITRIM+ - Operating instructions - 1

Charge the battery before first use, e.g., due to self-discharge and low temperatures.

The power tool does not operate at temperatures below -45°C!

Cutting depth

Set the cutting depth so that the blade protrudes no more than 5 mm beyond the workpiece.

The cutting depth can be adjusted effectively up to 15 cm. If the cut is deeper, cut in stages.

Cutting close to walls

The battery-powered hedge trimmer accelerates the fish on the scythe. To avoid rapid wear of the blade, avoid contact with hard surfaces or walls.

For better control, use the front handle as a guide for the trimmer (not included in the kit).

Cutting around the blade and crosswise

Cut carefully around the blade and crosswise, so as not to damage them with the cutting line. If the plant's bark is damaged, they may die.

For better control, use the front handle as a guide for the trimmer (not included in the kit).

Battery life

The operating time of the battery depends on the working conditions:

BOSCH ART26 COMBITRIM+ - Battery life - 1
