GB instruction manual AES1 FOREWORD Dear Customer, thank you for deciding to buy the ANSMANN Countdown Mains Timer with energy saving Zero Watt Technology. With this intelligent mains timer you can switch on attached loads (e.g. heaters, irons, coffee machines, printers, copiers and many other devices) for a user selectable time period and reduce the standby electricity costs for when they are not being used. Please read the operating instructions carefully before use. Your ANSMANN Team SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS > Please read the operating instructions carefully and observe the safety instructions! > Do not use the countdown mains timer if there are signs of any damage to the housing or mains pins. Please contact an authorised dealer! > Keep the countdown mains timer in a dry place! > In order to avoid the risk of fire and/or electric shock, the countdown mains timer must be protected against high humidity, water and heat! > The maximum load of this mains timer is 2500 Watt or 10A. Make sure when you connect devices that this value is not exceeded! > Devices without mains cable connections that make mechanical movements or vibrate should not be directly connected to the countdown mains timer! > Before cleaning the unit, disconnect it from the mains and only use a dry cloth! > Never attempt to open the countdown mains timer! > Keep away from children‘s reach! > The appliance is not to be used by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction! > If the safety instructions are not followed, it may lead to damage to the countdown mains timer and could cause injury! > Only plug the countdown mains timer into a correctly fitting mains socket! FUNCTIONAL OVERVIEW > Intelligent time-controlled countdown mains timer with Zero Watt Technology > No unnecessary standby power consumption > Safe automatic mains cut-off after the user set operating time > 15min, 30min, 1h, 2h, 4h, 8h operating times selectable > Easy to operate with only one push button > LED indication of the remaining operating time > 2500 Watt or 10A maximum operating capacity OPERATION Plug the countdown mains timer into a suitable wall mains socket (switched on). The countdown mains timer is ready to use, but it is still without power to the mains output. Connect the load. Press for approx. 2 seconds the “START – STOP” push button to activate the connected load for 15 minutes. Each additional press doubles the operating time up to 8 hours. There are operating times of 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours or 8 hours selectable. The remaining operating time is indicated by the respective LED. The time can be changed during operation by pressing the “START-STOP” button at any time. If you want to switch off the connected load instantly, select the “8h” and press the “START-STOP” button one more time. At this point, or when the timer expires naturally, the “15min” LED flashes for approx. 10 seconds. Afterwards the countdown mains timer disconnects itself automatically from the mains power and consumes no more electricity. The countdown mains timer can permanently remain in the wall outlet socket, (with the electrical load connected or not), in complete safety. THE ENVIRONMENT Do not dispose of this timer in the normal household waste. Please return it to your dealer or to your nearest recycling centre or collection point.
